Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regarding ID # [redacted] Joyce I have read MrS [redacted] 's response and I would like to add the following: Even if MrS [redacted] misunderstood the direction I gave him for the master bathroom which I don't have any idea how that could be, my direction couldn't have been simpler, the fact that he didn't notice he was painting the room the wrong color shows you his lack of attention to detailThe pictures MrS [redacted] shared with you of MY home were taken WITHOUT my knowledge and WITHOUT my permission He is NOT to use these photos ever again for his personal gain or any other reason MrS [redacted] and I never worked side by side until the last four days of his days He claims he worked in my home for seven weeks He clearly can not keep track of time as I have requested invoices multiple times for the work done and have never received one invoice with any details It is also so ludricius that I would have someone install a floor if I knew they did not know how to install it I had a list of 15+ vendors given to me from the flooring store where I purchased the material that I would have called had I know MrS [redacted] lied about his experience and ability to install a floating floorI intentially never complimented MrS [redacted] as I knew he would expect referrals from me So I never complimented him, in fact I did the opposite I questioned why it was taking so long to sand and prime the wood work I even pointed out one of the doors he painted that had big flaws in the painting I told him I would fix it myself All the work was in stages for the entire days until the last days or so The last four days were spent in the kitchen Which I have included a photo of the awful paint job The finished worked is so bad I am getting bids to have it redone, which is why I am requesting 1/of my money backMrS [redacted] completely misrepresented his ability and experience and I will never use him again and I will NEVER give him a referral for more work Regards, [redacted]

Dear Mrs [redacted] I am responding to the complaint ID# [redacted] “Even if MrS [redacted] misunderstood the direction I gave him for the master bathroom which I don’t have any idea how that could be, my direction couldn’t have been simpler, the fact he didn’t notice he was painting the room the wrong color shows you his lack of attention to detail“As I stated in my previous response: On my first day of working, Ms [redacted] and I walked through the house again as she showed me again an overview of what she was doingShe then asked me to start in the bathroom by sanding the drywall patchesI misunderstood what she wanted done, so once the sanding was completed in the bathroom I began to cut in the walls with the paint that was in the bathroomI spent approximately less than an hour doing this before Ms [redacted] informed me I was not supposed to be painting the area and that the particular paint she had left in the bathroom was actually for another area.To be clear, the wall I began "painting" was not completely painted, it was only “cut in” before Ms [redacted] informed me it was not to be painted and that it was in fact the wrong color, it was a different shade of white.“The pictures MrS [redacted] shared with you of MY home were taken WITHOUT my knowledge and WITHOUT my permissionHe is NOT to use the photos ever again for his personal gain or any other reason.”It was at the suggestion of Ms [redacted] that I take pictures of my work to show what I had done.“MrS [redacted] and I never worked side by side until the last four days of his daysHe claims he worked in my home for seven weeksHe clearly can not keep track of time as I have requested invoices multiple times for the work done and have never received one invoice with any details.”Ms [redacted] was present the first day, which was how she was able to inform me of the paint issue in the bathroomShe also "worked from home” on multiple weekdays as well as one Saturday where we both did workAt no point did I claim to have worked in her home for seven weeksHowever, I did state in my last response to the Revdex.com, that it was weeks after I last worked in her home that a few of her issues were brought to my attentionNo requests for invoices have ever been made.“It is also so ludicrous that I would have someone install a floor if I knew they did not know how to install itI had a list of 15+ vendors given to me from the flooring store where I purchased the material that I would have called had I know MrS [redacted] lied about his experience and ability to install a floating floor.”As previously addressed in my last response, I clearly stated multiple times to Ms [redacted] that I had not installed a floating floor, including at our initial interview in the presence of my wifeI have always been upfront about my abilitiesMs [redacted] brought in Mr [redacted] (Ms [redacted] ’s friend and contractor) to show me how to install the floor because;1) She was fully aware I had not installed one before;2) According to Ms [redacted] , Mr [redacted] had just installed one; and3) According to Ms [redacted] , the salesman had assured her the floor was easy to install"I intentially never complimented MrS [redacted] as I knew he would expect referrals from meSo I never complimented him, in fact I did the oppositeI questioned why it was taking so long to sand and prime the wood workI even pointed out one of the doors he painted that had big flaws in the painting, I told him I would fix it myself “Ms [redacted] hired me at an hourly rateThe first job Ms [redacted] asked me to do was sand and primeAt no point in time was she obligated to continue with my services if she was unhappy with me in any wayShe complimented me multiple times and she chose to ask me back day after day to do additional workAll the work was in stages for the entire days until the last days or soThe last four days were spent in the kitchenWhich I have included a photo of the awful paint jobThe finished work is so bad I am getting bids to have it redone, which is why I am requesting 1/of my money backMrS [redacted] completely misrepresented himself"I did the tasks Ms [redacted] requested of me each dayMs [redacted] had specifically taken time off of work to work on her home when the flooring arrivedSo, when the flooring came in, Ms [redacted] asked I move on to the kitchen, even though the other work was unfinishedSince there was still work to be done in the other areas of the home, we agreed to a "punch list" when the project neared completion. It has now been over months since I was last in Ms [redacted] 's home and this is now the first time any issues with the painting in the kitchen have been brought upI have reviewed my pictures of the kitchen trim and am not able to match up any of the trim in her photos to mineRegardless, I would like to be very clear and again state the work in Ms [redacted] ’s home was not finishedThere were still areas of painting needing touched up, second coats, etcAt no point in time did I misrepresent myself to Ms [redacted] .In conclusion, I would like to re-state: I was hired at an hourly rate to do tasks, as assigned by Ms [redacted] Ms [redacted] was under no obligation at any point in time to continue using my services if she was unhappy for any reason at any timeShe chose to ask me back into her home and added additional daily tasks to be completed at her own free willWhen leaving Ms [redacted] ’s home on November 18, 2015, she stated she would review her budget, see where she was at, and, would call me back to finish the work after the holiday (Thanksgiving)However, Ms [redacted] exercised her right to not use my services to finish the jobTherefore, I have no further obligations to her nor am I willing to refund any money for a job that was left unfinished, I believe my concession to forgo the last day’s pay is more than generous or necessarySincerely, Todd S [redacted] March 1,

Dear Mrs [redacted] I am responding to the complaint ID# [redacted] .In my initial appointment with Ms [redacted] she took me through her house and went over some of the projects she had already started as well as some that she still needed doneShe stated she was looking to hire someone to sand and paint the baseboards around her home with the possibility of some other tasks based on how things went with the sanding and paintingMs [redacted] asked me about installing a floating floor in the initial appointI clearly stated I had not installed that type of flooring before, and we left it at thatBecause Ms [redacted] was unsure abut the scope of work she was going to have me do and the work she would do herself, we agreed to an hourly rateOn my first day of working, Ms [redacted] and I walked through the house again as she showed me again an overview of what she doingShe then asked me to start in the bathroom by sanding the drywall patchesI misunderstood what she wanted done,so once the sanding was completed in the bathroom I began to cut in the walls with the paint that was in the bathroomI spent approximately less than an hour doing this before Ms [redacted] informed me I was not supposed to be painting the area and that the particular paint she had left in the bathroom was actually for another areaMs [redacted] paid me for that time, so I did not think anything of it and continued workingMs [redacted] and I worked side by side on multiple days that I was thereIt was never brought to my attention that she was not happy with my workIn fact, it was the oppositeShe complimented me numerous timesShe added more and more to what she wanted me to doSo, I was under the impression everything was going well. When the flooring arrived, Ms [redacted] asked that I move into the kitchen to paint the cabinets and install new hinges and hardwareShe asked if I would install the flooringI again told her I had not installed that type of floor beforeShe stated the flooring salesman had told her it was easy to install and anyone could itShe also stated she had a "friend" who had recently installed one and was willing to come over and show me how to do itI told her again that as long as she understood I had not installed that type of flooring I would do itShe said she understoodBecause the other work (outside of the kitchen) had not been finished, Ms [redacted] and I decided to create a 'punch list' one the project neared completion.Ms [redacted] 's "friend", [redacted] came the first day of installing the floors and spent a couple hours at the residence working with meWe began by removing the trim in the kitchen and the trim and carpet in the dining roomsOnce that was completed, Ms [redacted] and I went to a home Improvement store to pick up some materials that Mr [redacted] said we would needWhen we came back he was laying the first row of flooringHe then showed me how to run the next couple of rows and left(At some point before he left, Mr [redacted] and I has also moved the refrigerator into the middle of the kitchen.) After Mr [redacted] left I Continued installing the floorWhen it came time to move the refrigerator back, Ms [redacted] and I moved it togetherAs we were moving it, something underneath it started to scratch the floorI adjusted the leveler and we were able to move it back in place with no further damageI then replaced the scratched flooringWhen the flooring was completed, I re-installed the same trim that was removed and patched the gaps with woood putt, provided by me [redacted] , as well as caulked any gaps she requestedOn my last day working with Ms [redacted] , she stated she was going to review he budget to see where she was tShe also stated that she would get back with me about completing the other work after the holiday (Thanksgiving) and she would pay me the outstanding day's pay when I came backSo, I left unaware she was not happy with my workA few days later, I received a phone call from Ms [redacted] wanting to know how long Mr [redacted] had stopped in on the second day of installing the floor, because he had sent her a bill for hours of workI answered her and when we hung up I still had no idea she was unhappy with my work, as no other concerns were brought up.A few days after the previous phone call, Ms [redacted] and I spoke again via phoneShe brought up her concern of having to pay both Mr [redacted] and myself for completing the same jobI explained that she had not told me she was paying both of usShe had only referred to him as a friend who had just installed the same flooring and who was willing to come show me how to do itI further tried to explain while we both were working at the same time, we were not working on the same pieces of trim or flooring, so I was not double billing herMs [redacted] stated during the phone conversation that she had to have Mr [redacted] come back and fix a piece of flooring that was sticking straight up, and she could not believe I did not notice itI asked Ms [redacted] why I was not given the opportunity to fix them myself or even see them(see attached picture) prior to calling Mr [redacted] "fix them", because when I left, she was pleased with the flooring, and now several days has passedShe did not address my question but rather brought up the uncompleted work (painting)I reminded her of the "punch list" we discussed doing when the job neared completionDuring this conversation I conceded the outstanding day's pay, that was still owed to me, as a gesture of good faith to rectify the situation, for any inconvenience she had, and to offset the cost of the scratched flooring (when she and I moved the refrigerator back in place together)I also told her if she had concerns with Mr [redacted] ' charges, she needed to address that with himShe stated she needed to think about what she was going to do regarding the whole situation and would call me back in a few days. The next form of communication from Ms [redacted] came in a letter dated December 8, (see attached letter) This was the first time I was made aware that she had concerns with the quality of workIt was also at that time when I learned that Mr [redacted] , her friend, was not just her friend, but also a contractorMs [redacted] claimed she had paid him to "fix" my workNo mention was made of the damaged bench (which was always moved when I worked near it) and the only mention of the trim in the initial letter was that she thought it looked awful and would have to pay someone to re-install itIt was not until nearly weeks after I last worked at her home that these other two issues were brought up or mention. As I stated before, I left that last day unaware that Ms [redacted] had ANY issues with my workI did agree to forgo my last day of pay as a gesture of good faith and for any inconvenience she may have hadI do no understand why additional money would be refunded because I was paid at an hourly rate and the job was not finished.I am enclosing a copy of all documentation back and forth, between Ms [redacted] and I (as referenced in my above response), from the time I received her first letter informing me she was unhappy with my workI am also including pictures I had taken of the floor once it was installedSincerely,Todd S [redacted]

Regarding ID # ***Joyce I have read MrS***'s response and I would like to add the following: Even if MrS*** misunderstood the direction I gave him for the master bathroom which I don't have any idea how that could be, my direction couldn't have been simpler, the fact that he didn't notice he was painting the room the wrong color shows you his lack of attention to detail. The pictures MrS*** shared with you of MY home were taken WITHOUT my knowledge and WITHOUT my permission He is NOT to use these photos ever again for his personal gain or any other reason. MrS*** and I never worked side by side until the last four days of his days. He claims he worked in my home for seven weeks He clearly can not keep track of time as I have requested invoices multiple times for the work done and have never received one invoice with any details It is also so ludricius that I would have someone install a floor if I knew they did not know how to install it. I had a list of 15+ vendors given to me from the flooring store where I purchased the material that I would have called had I know MrS*** lied about his experience and ability to install a floating floor. I intentially never complimented MrS*** as I knew he would expect referrals from me. So I never complimented him, in fact I did the opposite. I questioned why it was taking so long to sand and prime the wood work. I even pointed out one of the doors he painted that had big flaws in the painting I told him I would fix it myself All the work was in stages for the entire days until the last days or so. The last four days were spent in the kitchen. Which I have included a photo of the awful paint job. The finished worked is so bad I am getting bids to have it redone, which is why I am requesting 1/of my money backMrS*** completely misrepresented his ability and experience and I will never use him again and I will NEVER give him a referral for more work.

The finished worked is so bad I am getting bids to have it redone, which is why I am requesting 1/of my money backMrS*** completely misrepresented his ability and experience and I will never use him again and I will NEVER give him a referral for more work

Dear Mrs***I am responding to the complaint ID# ***.In my initial appointment with Ms*** she took me through her house and went over some of the projects she had already started as well as some that she still needed doneShe stated she was looking to hire someone to sand and paint
the baseboards around her home with the possibility of some other tasks based on how things went with the sanding and paintingMs*** asked me about installing a floating floor in the initial appointI clearly stated I had not installed that type of flooring before, and we left it at thatBecause Ms*** was unsure abut the scope of work she was going to have me do and the work she would do herself, we agreed to an hourly rate. On my first day of working, Ms*** and I walked through the house again as she showed me again an overview of what she doingShe then asked me to start in the bathroom by sanding the drywall patchesI misunderstood what she wanted done,so once the sanding was completed in the bathroom I began to cut in the walls with the paint that was in the bathroomI spent approximately less than an hour doing this before Ms*** informed me I was not supposed to be painting the area and that the particular paint she had left in the bathroom was actually for another areaMs*** paid me for that time, so I did not think anything of it and continued workingMs*** and I worked side by side on multiple days that I was thereIt was never brought to my attention that she was not happy with my workIn fact, it was the oppositeShe complimented me numerous timesShe added more and more to what she wanted me to doSo, I was under the impression everything was going well. When the flooring arrived, Ms*** asked that I move into the kitchen to paint the cabinets and install new hinges and hardwareShe asked if I would install the flooringI again told her I had not installed that type of floor beforeShe stated the flooring salesman had told her it was easy to install and anyone could itShe also stated she had a "friend" who had recently installed one and was willing to come over and show me how to do itI told her again that as long as she understood I had not installed that type of flooring I would do itShe said she understoodBecause the other work (outside of the kitchen) had not been finished, Ms*** and I decided to create a 'punch list' one the project neared completion.Ms***'s "friend", *** *** came the first day of installing the floors and spent a couple hours at the residence working with meWe began by removing the trim in the kitchen and the trim and carpet in the dining roomsOnce that was completed, Ms*** and I went to a home Improvement store to pick up some materials that Mr*** said we would needWhen we came back he was laying the first row of flooringHe then showed me how to run the next couple of rows and left(At some point before he left, Mr*** and I has also moved the refrigerator into the middle of the kitchen.) After Mr*** left I Continued installing the floorWhen it came time to move the refrigerator back, Ms*** and I moved it togetherAs we were moving it, something underneath it started to scratch the floorI adjusted the leveler and we were able to move it back in place with no further damageI then replaced the scratched flooringWhen the flooring was completed, I re-installed the same trim that was removed and patched the gaps with woood putt, provided by me***, as well as caulked any gaps she requested. On my last day working with Ms***, she stated she was going to review he budget to see where she was tShe also stated that she would get back with me about completing the other work after the holiday (Thanksgiving) and she would pay me the outstanding day's pay when I came backSo, I left unaware she was not happy with my workA few days later, I received a phone call from Ms*** wanting to know how long Mr*** had stopped in on the second day of installing the floor, because he had sent her a bill for hours of workI answered her and when we hung up I still had no idea she was unhappy with my work, as no other concerns were brought up.A few days after the previous phone call, Ms*** and I spoke again via phoneShe brought up her concern of having to pay both Mr*** and myself for completing the same jobI explained that she had not told me she was paying both of usShe had only referred to him as a friend who had just installed the same flooring and who was willing to come show me how to do itI further tried to explain while we both were working at the same time, we were not working on the same pieces of trim or flooring, so I was not double billing herMs*** stated during the phone conversation that she had to have Mr*** come back and fix a piece of flooring that was sticking straight up, and she could not believe I did not notice itI asked Ms *** why I was not given the opportunity to fix them myself or even see them(see attached picture) prior to calling Mr*** "fix them", because when I left, she was pleased with the flooring, and now several days has passedShe did not address my question but rather brought up the uncompleted work (painting)I reminded her of the "punch list" we discussed doing when the job neared completionDuring this conversation I conceded the outstanding day's pay, that was still owed to me, as a gesture of good faith to rectify the situation, for any inconvenience she had, and to offset the cost of the scratched flooring (when she and I moved the refrigerator back in place together)I also told her if she had concerns with Mr***' charges, she needed to address that with himShe stated she needed to think about what she was going to do regarding the whole situation and would call me back in a few days. The next form of communication from Ms*** came in a letter dated December 8, (see attached letter) This was the first time I was made aware that she had concerns with the quality of workIt was also at that time when I learned that Mr***, her friend, was not just her friend, but also a contractorMs*** claimed she had paid him to "fix" my workNo mention was made of the damaged bench (which was always moved when I worked near it) and the only mention of the trim in the initial letter was that she thought it looked awful and would have to pay someone to re-install itIt was not until nearly weeks after I last worked at her home that these other two issues were brought up or mention. As I stated before, I left that last day unaware that Ms*** had ANY issues with my workI did agree to forgo my last day of pay as a gesture of good faith and for any inconvenience she may have hadI do no understand why additional money would be refunded because I was paid at an hourly rate and the job was not finished.I am enclosing a copy of all documentation back and forth, between Ms*** and I (as referenced in my above response), from the time I received her first letter informing me she was unhappy with my workI am also including pictures I had taken of the floor once it was installed. Sincerely,Todd S***
