The customer came to our contractor sales division to purchase a special order door.   He was serviced by one of our long time employees with many years of experience and wanted to place a special order. This type of order is onethat is made custom for that a person and cannot be returned...

or resold.  The salesman made the customer aware of this. In this circumstance our salespeople can only rely on the specifications of the customer to determine their needs. After  going over everything very carefully and drawing up the paperwork the customer signed the order stating that he agreed on the details of the order.  This order was in fact a solid core interior door and was based on the customers information provided to our salesperson.  When a customer is sure of what they want we are in a tough position and by no means question their decisions. After speaking with employees involved all procedures were followed properly and the customer was treated in a professional manner. To remedy the situation we offered to send a salesperson out to properly measure the opening to see exactly what he needed and we would reorder at cost. The customer chose not to do this.
