[redacted] Auto Services requests additional time to respond to Mr. [redacted].

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the...

offer I reviewed appear below. There was no attempt by mr. [redacted] to resolve the complaint. This was NOT a misunderstanding.Mr [redacted] didn't even have the proper supplies to do the job as we had agreed.  I set up an appointment and we agreed on a price for services. He did not provide the services I requested and we had agreed upon. I didn't even know what the tensioners and idlers were until he told me that they should be replaced while someone was inside the engine already replacing the timing belt/waterpump.  I specificially asked other places while getting quotes if they replaced those parts.  Mr [redacted] told me that was the right way to do things and I trusted him.  He did not do things the right way as he promised. You can even see on the second receipt that he wrote customer will return for hydraulic tensioner.  He tried to rip me off for another $225 to do a job he agreed to do for $750. He told me that he would take care of me and to call him in a couple days when I was more relaxed. I was irate that he didn't replace the part and made it clear that wasn't our agreement. I paid him to get my car back because I needed it for work the next day and he put the writing on the receipt saying that I would return for the tensioner. When I called him back he hung up on me and took his phone off the hook.(It was busy for the next 10 minutes that I tried calling back.) He has never tried to get back into contact with me since then.I called other mechanics about replacing the tensioner and they laughed.  I was told it should have been replaced when the timing belt/ water pump service was done. The main expense is in the labor for getting inside the engine. They order kits, which I have found multiple kits online for about $200.  Mr [redacted] told me the hydraulic tensioner itlself was $180 which is why he didn't order it.  I was lied to and deceived. He promised to make it right, but did not.

Revdex.com:
The facts are that mr [redacted] didnt live up to our agreement. You can see on the receipt that mr [redacted] wrote that the customer would return for the hydraulic tensioner, contradicting what mr [redacted] has said. It was supposed to be replaced at the agreed upon price of $750. If needed I can get other estimates to show that this part should and was supposed to be replaced during this service. I was specifically told ALL tensioners and idlers would be replaced, they were not. I repeatedly told mr [redacted] that I was unhappy that he didnt have the part and that was not the agreement we had. Thats why he wrote on the receipt, " I will return for hydraulic tensioner." Its written on the receipt that he provided. I told him I wasnt paying any more for it and he said he would take care of me. When I called back he hung up on me. We have had no contact since. This has been stated repeatedly and mr [redacted] obviously doesnt plan on living up to his side of the bargain. I want my money back so I can have the service done properly. I feel like 2 months is enough time for mr [redacted] to make good on our agreement. He hasnt and obviously isn't going to.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I can appreciate that mr [redacted] finally decided to offer a concession after 3 months. The problem is it doesn't really address my issue. I can't have the part replaced for $100.  I tried to make my position clear, either finish the job by replacing the part as we had agreed (at no further cost or give me my money back so I can pay someone else to do the job  "the right way". The way mr [redacted] promised to do it when I agreed to the price and scheduled the appointment.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Mr [redacted]has made NO effort to make things right. He absolutely told me that ALL tensioners and idlers would be replaced over the phone when I scheduled my appointment. If needed I can get other quotes showing that should be replaced. I got all of my quotes over the phone (specifically asking about idlers and tensioners because mr [redacted] brought those to my attention). When I dropped off my car, he didnt have the part and told me it wouldnt be available until wednesday. He told me everything would be fine and to trust him. I expressed my concern and disatisfaction with the situation. I went home and checked my notes to see if I remembered everything correctly ( I did) and called him back to tell him that the part was supposed to be replaced. He said it wasnt available. It should have been, there was plenty of time to get the correct parts.  I called the other meachanics I had received estimates from and they told me that YES it should be replaced when you're in the engine and YES that was part of the estimate. When I picked up my car I argued with mr [redacted] and he told me he would make it right. He tried to tell me the part would cost me an additional $225 and I told him absolutely NOT. I never would have agreed to pay $975 for this service and that it was supposed to be included. He told me that he would take care of me, that he wanted satisfied customers. You can clearly see in the receipt a mentioning of "the customer will return for hydraulic tensioner".  This clearly contradicts mr [redacted] saying that it wasnt mentioned in the estimate or receipt. He charged me the agreed upon price, but did not provide the agreed upon service. There was no reason not to have the proper parts to do the job the right way. He absolutely told me all tensioners and idlers would be replaced. I had an estimate for $650 but went with mr [redacted]' estimate of $750 because I thought I could trust him.I attempted to contact mr [redacted] to let him make things right, he hung up on me and took his phone off the hook. There has been no attempt on his part to make things right or to resolve this complaint. The hydraulic tensioner should have been replaced and it shouldnt cost me one more cent.
Regards,
[redacted]
