We did charge for 2 calls to go out for on-demand emergency service. On the 2nd call my technician discovered th unit had a bad compressor which is an expensive fix. We told the property managers that hired us that given the age of the unit (20 yrs)we would recommend replacing the entire unit. The...

price was around $4000, and we would deduct the 2nd service call if we did replace the unit. Which we do with all our customers to be fair. I was then contacted by the homeowner directly and explained to him the situation. He then told me he got another quote for around $2800 or so ( sorry I cant remember exact figures). He asked if I could do it for that price. I explained to him that that is the price we need to charge to cover our costs of doing business plus a fair profit. I also explained to him that the $2800 he was quoted was substantially less than the industry standard and whomever quoted it was probably doing it as a side job where they have NO permit, overhead, or insurance. And most probably will never come back to fix it under warranty. We deal with these types FAR too often. So in summary..We charged our standard on-demand service fees for providing fast serviceWe were willing to deduct the 2nd charge in good faith if he hired us to replace the defective unitCustomer hired another company and/or person to do repair ( I assume, we never went back)No refund will be given as we were paid for what we did nothing more, nothing less.
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # 11888854. Please add your rejection comments below. 
The explanation from the business doesn't address the core issue. Why should I be paying for an issue twice which was never addressed? I'm not at all satisfied by the response. I understand the cost of running a business/insurance etc. That's why in all fairness I had offered to pay for one of the two visits even though it did not fix the issue. I request the business owner to provide me the suggested refund.

Following your ‘repair’ visit to my property on 6/14/13, the AC unit started leaking water, overflowing the safety tub and into my 3 yo son’s room before shutting down completely.

A week later after half a dozen calls, another technician from your company arrived to look at the problem. He actually said to my wife the ‘the system installation looks good’. He proceeded to do something in the attic turned on the unit, said works per spec and left. Several hours later the after returning from work, my son’s room was FLUDDED from AC water overflowing.

As a customer I expect a fix to the problem, not a $305 visit that created all kinds of new issues. System was functioning fine for 2 years and never ever leaked water. Your reply that ‘I will not show up at your house again and will not waste my time correcting someone else’s mistakes’ is preposterous. Why did your company take on the job to fix this in the first place (twice)? If you are unable to do the work, you could have said that and refused.

Now, my whole room is damaged because of your ‘repairs’. Please refund $305 immediately.
