Directly behind the glass case on the wall is a corkboard with a notice posted that reads as follows:Attention UPS Customers,Effective 05-16-07 there will be a $2.00 fee for each prepaid package left here for pickup.This has been posted in the same spot for a little over 8 years now. It is true that we charge a fee for our service. We provide a very well maintained facility that is heated and serviced by knowledgeable staff. There is a cost associated with maintaining business in every community. We do not feel that we are over chargingany consumer for any item. Mr. [redacted] chose to come to our facility and use our service. We did not solicit him in any way. I am happily refunding him his $2.00. lam curious to know of any and ail for profit businesses that offer ail of their services for free in today's economic climate. Review: On Feb 4,2015 I mailed a pre-paid UPS package from the business lisated. I was told that there was an additional $2.00 pass-thru fee that UPS charged for package pick-up. I thought that this was strange because I had never been charged this fee at other UPS pick-up locations. In addition, my wife had recently shipped twice from this location and was not charged a fee. I contacted UPS and was told that the business has the option of charging a "handling" fee, however, this is retained by the business and has nothing to do with UPS policy. In other words, they lied to concele the fact that they charge this $2.00 fee because of UPS. Why can't they just be honest.I wonder what other costs are inflated by this business.Sincerely,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I believe that the owners name is [redacted]. I have no idea if she is aware of this practice or it is something the sales person does on her own. In any case, they need to be truthful about the fee.
