Tom Kadlec Kia Reviews (3)

ZERO INTEGRITY
Two years ago, I bought an Acura TL at Kadlec Kia with just shy of 125k mi on it. These cars, like most Honda products, require a timing belt and water pump replacement every 105k miles, because if the timing belt fails, the only fix is to replace the whole engine. One would think that a larger and reputable dealership would make sure that this maintenance had been handled before listing it for sale. Fast forward two years, and about 26k miles, Kadlec Honda sent me a letter stating that my car was overdue for the timing belt and water pump replacement. Serendipitously, only a few weeks later, my salesperson emailed me asking how things were going with the car, so I expressed mild frustration with the situation and implied that Kadlec should suggest some sort of remedy. In response, I received – crickets. A week later, I emailed my salesperson again telling him that if I didn’t hear from him, I would start writing negative reviews and gave him four more days to reply.

That same day, I received a response. He basically summarized the car’s service history and said there was no way to prove it HADN’T been done. I responded by illuminating the fallacies in his rebuttal, then highlighted the irony of the SALES department can’t prove that it HASN’T been serviced (and it is their policy to not fix “stuff that isn’t broken”) while the SERVICE department says that if you can’t prove it HAS been done, then it needs to be done. His response was “Happy reviewing!” So I’m happily reviewing Kadlec Kia’s policy to sell unmaintained vehicles and not stand by their product. They clearly have no interest in customer retention, customer satisfaction, or operating with any sort of integrity. My best advice is to buy your used vehicle anywhere other than Kadlec Kia. They don’t complete long-overdue scheduled maintenance before the sale and they will refuse to stand by their product.

TL;DR: BUYER BEWARE! Dealership sells vehicle significantly overdue for major scheduled service. Refuses to acknowledge or remedy their mistake.

Ms. [redacted],First of all, I apologize that you have concerns about your loan.  There are certainly other avenues if you have these concerns or questions, such as speaking with us directly.  I have looked into your several transactions with our dealership. Since you have chosen this avenue...

to speak with us,  I will simply give you the facts.  In April of 2016 you purchased a 2015 Kia Forte from our dealership.  It must have been a great transaction, in fact you gave us a 1000 on our KIA survey and gave us comments stating that Darin and Missy were fantastic to work with and "it was a great transaction."  In September on 2016 you returned stating that the vehicle was too small and you wanted a large SUV.  You were advised that this was not in your best interest at this time because you had just purchased your previous vehicle such a short time ago.  As per your wishes we put together our best effort, $30,225 for a 2016 Sorento, this is also MSRP, we gave you $14985 for your trade in vehicle. SEPT 2016 Kelley Blue Book Valued this at $13465.  We did this in a effort to eliminate as much of your inequity, after all, you were trying to trade after only 5 months, having purchased it for only $15995.  In addition, you received $2500 in KIA Incentives.  You financed after tax, title and licence $33,300 on a vehicle that MSRP is $30225. This would include the $1000 down payment that you claim you put down.  However, our records indicate that in another effort to help you out, we allowed you to make payments on that $1000. As of this day, 9 months later, you still owe us $380.  I won't go in to detail on your credit profile Ms. [redacted], however, I will state that Darin and Missy worked tirelessly as they always have for you, to get you the best possible terms that your credit profile will allow.  I say this because we are not a bank, we are here to provide you with the best financial options available to you based on your financial history.  We provided you with options that you insisted you had to have.  Again, we advised that waiting out your current Forte loan would be in your best interest for the time being.  You took a couple days to think about it.  Ultimately you chose to go with that option.  The bank gave you the terms that you agreed to.  We did not over charge you for any part of the transaction, in fact we gave you a great deal.  We treated you like a returning customer.  We were honest, we were helpful, we were generous.  I assume that is also why you gave us yet another perfect 1000 on your KIA survey.  I will add that when discussing this with Darin and Missy they were simply shocked and disappointed that you had filed this complaint and suggested that we treated you this way.  Missy stated that you were in just a couple weeks ago to say hi to her.  Again, I think despite all this, Darin would be willing to sit with you and discuss any part of this if you wish.
