Hello, I believe our service center has been in contact with you to resolve your leak issue.  Please contact us if we can further assist.  I am sorry about the [redacted] confusion.  We do not have a [redacted] page however there are...

some unofficial pages that pop up from time to time.  These are not associated with our business and are sometimes taken down.  From what I understand, they are self generated from members checking in etc.  If you responded to one of these pages it is quite possible that it went away,  Thank you.

Review: Discussions regarding a trade of our 2003 [redacted] custom travel trailer and 1996 [redacted] motorhome for a 2003 [redacted] were misleading. The NADA value for both our trades were significantly less than the lowest NADA value per discussed deal when meeting with the sales rep in person. Both our rigs were in high quality condition and discussed trade values per NADA values were higher during the discussions than the proposed trade values provided later when trying to make a purchase deal. The 2003 [redacted] in question was priced at the top NADA value, while combined trade value suggested by the dealer for both our rigs was $16000 total, when fair trade great condition value for the [redacted] per NADA average value is $11000 and $19000 [redacted]. This practice is becoming more frequent setting the context that the buyer is beholden to the dealer to acquiesce to the dealer driven deal even though it is out of scope to the suggested prices set by a professional pricing organization such as NADA. While the top NADA value is frequently used by dealers, they disregard the proposed values in NADA when buying or trading from a private citizen.

This practice we have experienced on several occasions from this dealer setting the precedence that we will never get a fair deal on our trades from Schaeffer's RV unless we accept the presented unfair trade values. In addition, we were told we must also pay a significant amount of down money with larger financed value to purchase a desired rig, priced much higher than the fair value when considering the trades we presented to the fair value of the target purchase. That said, unless we agree to this unfair and unrealistic business deal, we either fold and put ourselves in a financially poor deal or walk away from our dream of purchasing a newer RV.

While this purchase is a dream for my wife and I, this dealership has made that a dream out of reach by practicing what I believe to be unfair, illegal to proposed NADA values and fair business practices, and a main cause of why the American economy is failing overall.

I am a veteran, a tax payer, and a solid contributor to the reason this country called American was born. The purpose of this complaint is not to solidify this deal, it is to spotlight the fact that businesses are taking advantage of hard working Americans and driving questionable business practices without any concern of possible consequences.

Execute what the BBC was put in service to do, protect hard working Americans from fraudulent business practices.Desired Settlement: Stop short changing hard working Americans and veterans by low balling trade values and charging high end pricing on the RV's you sell. We are all over taxed and get much less in our pay than deserved. When we take a leap of faith to make a luxury item purchase, it should be a pleasurable experience, not a painful and stressful endeavor. Do what is right and do not take advantage of a potential buyer and possible repeat customer. This experience leads me to never recommend Schaeffer's RV to anyone.

Response:

Hello,Sorry to hear about your expirence. It seems like there was some confusion/ miscommunication. I was asked by my salesperson that you would like to knowthe approximate value of your rv's. I pulled up NADA ''RETAIL" figures. Theses are RETAIL figures not trade in or wholesale numbers. These are numbers if you would sell the unit privately to a retailcustomer. As a dealer we do not purchase or trade at retail numbers - we use trade in or wholesale numbers. NADA numbers are also a guide and may not reflect the market value of the unit. When you did find a particular unit to work numbers on- it was a unit we had on sale and it was discounted. This means there is no over allowance and trade figures would be at ACV (actual cash value) or wholesale. In some cases we do allow full retail value if we are workingon a non discounted price or MSRP.Again sorry for the miscommunication - I was under the impression that you wanted to know what the RETAILvalue for your rvs where because we where not at the point of actually working trade figures yet. We have been in business for over 60 years and pride ourselves of being upfrontwith customers - that is why when you asked what the value of your units were we quoted you reatil so you could factor your option to sell it privately at a higher number then we could trade at.Thank you
