On May 11, We Sold The Customer A Steel Wheel For *** ***Then A Few Days Later We Where Contacted By The Customer That He Had Taken It To A Local Tire Shop To Have It Put On His Car And They Informed Him Our Wheel Was BentHe Requested A Refund Which
We Have Clearly Stated On Our Business Receipt That There Our No Cash Refunds, Exchanges Only In Hours....However The Customer Never Gave Us the Opportunity To Do SoHe Said He Purchased Another Wheel From The Tire Shop He Was AtIt Has Always Been Our Policy Since We Opened In That If A Part Is Bad Or Damaged That We Would Exchange For Another PartBeing In Our line Of Business With Used Parts We Most Always Have A ReplacementWe Hate Not Being Able To Please Are Customer Because That's Our Goal But The Customer Never Gave Us The Chance He Only Wanted A Cash RefundBoth Employees Whom Spoke With The Customer Both Times He Contacted Us Was Very Respectful And Stated We Would Have Made An Exchange But It Wasn't Our Policy To Refund CashThen The Customer Threated To Take Legal Action Against Us And Became Very UpsetI Have Enclosed A Copy Of The Receipt Stating Our Policy On The Bottom When He Made The PurchaseOur Goal Is To Provide Good Used Parts And To Make Our Customers Happy If All PossibleBut The Customer In This Case Was Not Happy With Our Policy. Response to business owner’s statement When I purchased the rim and was handed the receipt, I barely looked at it as most people would. I was just happy to have found what I was told was a good rim. When I was at the tire shop, two days later, and my car was on the rack with the old tire and rim already removed, the worker put the rim I bought from the wrecking yard on another mounting machine and spun it. He immediately called me over and showed me a flat spot where it was damaged, and then marked the spot. Once he pointed it out, I could easily see it. Another employee said that he thought they had some *** rims in a nearby building. We looked and found one. I had them put it on and went on my way thinking I could just return the bad rim and get my money back at my convenience. My wife needed the car soon and the wrecking yard was more than miles out the pike. Soon after I returned home I phoned the wrecking yard to let them know that I would be returning the rim in the next couple of days. I was shocked and angered when they insisted they would only exchange it for another, even though I explained my circumstances. I reasoned “you mean you will not show some flexibility in a special case such as this?” They knew that I had no use for another rim. I only wanted to undo the sale, but they refused to help me. I have been in business for myself for years, and I will always go out of my way to make things right with a customer that had a legitimate complaint, so I guess I am easily annoyed when people treat me like this
