Tomasello Contractors

I hired Tomasello Contractors for a new roof, insulation, siding and rain water repair in 2012. The work was performed in the time and manner promised for a total cost of about $30,000, which was in line with estimates from other contractors. My initial impression was positive for both the quality of work and treatment by Vinnie Tomasello and his crew.

In May, 2013 I noticed stains on an upstairs ceiling, possibly from ice damming with the new roof. I called [redacted] for a review. He came 3 weeks and 3 phone calls later and said he would send a crew member to inspect and repair as needed. I was having my kitchen remodeled by another firm and the move of an outside stove vent required a siding repair. [redacted] said his crew would also do that. It is now September, 2013. I have called Vinnie at least 6 times in the last 5 months and he agreed each time to send a repair crew for the two tasks. He specifically scheduled two dates for the repair and I took a vacation day to meet them. No one showed up. There was no cancellation call. When I followed up I was promised a new repair date "when a crew freed up".

I have now decided to hire another firm to make the repairs. [redacted] Tomasello managed to turn a highly positive experience into a highly negative one. Shoddy roof work, missed repair dates, lack of contact and a generally uncaring attitude once the checks were cashed are highly undesirable. I would never recommend [redacted] to anyone.
