Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The credit union makes an effort at defaulting to charging high fees and forces me to log into the online banking interface and find the 'opt out' optionI never received direct guidance and could never find where to 'opt out' of paying fees ($per month) for paper statementsI bank with other institutions that absolutely do not charge these kinds of feesThe credit union also refuses to stop 'paper statement fees' even after repeatedly calling the customer service department and simply states that I need to find where I should 'opt out' within the internet banking interfaceThis is an absolutely unacceptable action and clearly showing that they prefer to fees on services that comparable institutions do not charge for Sincerely, [redacted]

This member did indeed have the outstanding negative balance with our institution at one point, but it has been paid in full since 9/15/2015. This payment was reported to [redacted] appropriately. We examined this member's [redacted] report to see what the other institution would have seen, and...

while it does show that at one point a balance was owed, it is now correctly showing as paid in full.

I never received direct guidance and could never find where to 'opt out' of paying fees ($5 per month) for paper statements. I bank with other institutions that absolutely do not charge these kinds of fees. The credit union also refuses to stop 'paper statement fees' even after repeatedly calling the customer service department and simply states that I need to find where I should 'opt out' within the internet banking interface. This is an absolutely unacceptable action and clearly showing that they prefer to fees on services that comparable institutions do not charge for.

The credit union is not doing anything different than the rest of the industry. Statements are available to him by mail or electronically. If he opted to receive them electronically there would be no charge.Thank you
