Tompkins Contracting

I had a new roof put on by Tompkins Contracting in May of 2019 that included a 20 year warranty. This was part of the negotiations during the purchasing of the house. Due to this being a part of the negotiations of the house, the invoice is in the name of the previous owner: ***. However, the warranty clearly says it is transferable. In July I found a leak in our ceiling that I initially attributed to the deck above the room with the leak. I initially thought it must not have anything to do with the new roof and spent $4500 to repair the ceiling and fix the deck. However, in November this leak returned with the melting snow. My Fiance called *** of Tompkins Contracting on December 2nd in order to have them come out to examine the roof. It was not until I called on December 21st that someone was sent over to look at the roof. *** from Tompkins Contracting came by soon after that. In his assessment, *** said that the leak could indeed have come from the improper installation of the roof. He pointed to where water could be running down the flashing. He then said that they needed a clear day to come back and fully assess. From this point, until now, our calls to Tompkins have not been answered or replied to. We have called a total of 12 times, with most times leaving a message to ***. At the same time, we continue to have a leak in our ceiling that is causing more damage, due to the negligence of Tompkins.
