Tompkins Corner Laundromat Reviews (5)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: The Tompkins Corner Laundromat has not offered a solution in their previous statement I am also not sure exactly what they mean when they say, they are trying to resolve this matter "fairly"? How can they possibly be trying to resolve this matter fairly, when they are threatening us by giving ultimatums such as, "take the $or take us to court." Obviously they are not trying to be reasonable and by their tone don't even care to resolve this matter civilly In respect to not providing them with a proof of receipt for my jacket, of course none was ever provided because, as they mentioned, the style of the jacket is a couple of years oldWho keeps receipts of their cloths two years later? In any case, as I mentioned before, I don't care if they find the jacket at a Guess Outlet, Factory, etcI'd simply like my jacket, the way it was handed to them, or REASONABLE compensation for it Currently, winter jacket's at Guess, of that quality, are going for $plus taxIf they are indeed trying to resolve this matter fairly, they'll offer the $it would take to cover the costs Thank you Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I feel Tompkins Corner has tried to offer a solution to [redacted] complaint, I feel [redacted] is not working with us to find a fair solution.
When [redacted] mom) brought the coat back after picking it up on 02/**/14 she said the coat was damaged by our dry cleaners we sent the coat back to our dry cleaners's (All Brite cleaners) to view the coat in question and we were told by All Brite cleaner's that the coat is not new and that the coat's bottom sleeve was stretched out due to it being an old coat and they also said they did not burn the inside bottom sleeve of the coat (coats are not pressed with a iron they are steamed cleaned and not inside out we were told by out dry cleaner. [redacted] is talking about something inside the bottom left sleeve of the coat )

We are no way threatening [redacted] by saying take the $50.00 and his coat or take us to court, our dry cleaner states they did not damage the coat. We were first told by [redacted] the coat was new it was just bought this Christmas 2013 it was only 2 months old and cost around $299.00. After the Dry Cleaners looked at the coat we called [redacted] and told her the Dry cleaner's said no way this is a new coat and they did not damage this coat. Then we were told the coat was bought last Christmas 2012. To this day we do not know when [redacted] purchased this coat.
I asked [redacted] if she has a receipt for the coat and they said they did not have receipt and that I can understand that due to the fact that the coat is 2-3 years old. So I went on line Guess.com and cannot find a coat like that to see what the value is I then called Guess spoke to a representative and was told this coat was at least 2 -3 yrs old they don't sell coats like that no more I was advised by the Guess representative go to store where the coat was bought or call and maybe we can find out how much coat was. I have asked [redacted] a few times to tell me the store that the coat was purchased at so I could speak to someone and see how much the coat cost and how long ago was this coat sold to [redacted] I was never provided with that information.
Now [redacted] is saying the coat is a few years old and he wants full value of this 2-3 year old coat which has deprecated with time. I still have no proof how much this coat cost him 2-3 years ago. How can I REASONABLE compensate [redacted] when I have no proof of how much he bought the coat for or how long ago the coat was purchased ?

In respect to not providing them with a proof of receipt for my jacket, of course none was ever provided because, as they mentioned, the style of the jacket is a couple of years old. Who keeps receipts of their cloths two years later? In any case, as I mentioned before, I don't care if they find the jacket at a Guess Outlet, Factory, etc. I'd simply like my jacket, the way it was handed to them, or REASONABLE compensation for it.
Currently, winter jacket's at Guess, of that quality, are going for $168 plus tax. If they are indeed trying to resolve this matter fairly, they'll offer the $190 it would take to cover the costs.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

Review: I went to the Tompkins Corner Laundromat to use their Dry Cleaning services to dry clean my winter jacket worth over $200. Upon returning to pick it up, I found my jacket, which was in perfect conditions apart from being slightly dirty, damaged! The sleeves had been burnt! The lady at the counter was more than helpful but said she couldn't do anything and would talk to the [redacted]. Afterwards, I myself spoke to the [redacted]s son and said it was unacceptable to bring a perfectly good jacket in excellent conditions and receive it back damaged. He said they would investigate and get back to me. They never got back to me and upon calling back to inquire, they had left a message with the lady at the counter saying they would only offer me $50 and I could either take it or leave it and take them to court. I have been more than patient and polite, not to mention a regular customer, for them to just brush me off and treat me like that for something that was clearly and unequivocally their fault. The [redacted] needs to take responsibility for his establishment and be held accountable for its inadequacies!Desired Settlement: As described to the [redacted] and his son, I don't care if they find my same jacket at a mall, outlet, factory or at the retailer itself for $20 but I would like my exact same jacket returned to me with NO damage. Otherwise, I request the $249.99 I paid for it at the Guess retailer. Thank you.
