For several year I had used Tom's Ponds to service my Koi pond. In December 2015 I had an appoint to deal with string algae and leak. My service price had never been more than $375. This time they came and drained the pond, found two small areas where it may have been leaking, treated my plants, treated the pond walls in the first half day and left. That night Tomas send me an email estimate for $955 for the current service. I confronted Tomas the next morning telling him I would have never approved this price for the service had I received an estimate in advance. He offered to remove $190 from the price but declined to adjust the labor cost. They completed the service before noon that day, I paid the entire invoice and they left. So, I was charged two days full labor but received one full day of work. My pond still leaks and I am still totally dissatisfied. Do not use Tom's Ponds unless you have a written estimate in advance and understand they will charge for a full day even if they only work 1/2 days on your project.
