I am rejecting this response because:
I have contacted several transmission shopsThey have told me that there are different tail shaft housings for this transmission. There is a 10&1/inch and a 11&1/inchSo where is the one they took off the transmission? This just goes to show they knew this transmission had an issue and that is why they did not install the tail shaft housing. The other transmission shops also stated that they do send out all transmissions with a tail shaft housing. What kind of BS are they trying to pull?

T R Transmission 1575 rt. 37w. suite 12 Toms River, N.J. 08755

WRITTEN - NOVEMBER 9, 2019. My parents sought assistance from a friend to locate a transmission for their Ford Explorer. Tom's Transmission appeared to have less expensive rebuilt transmissions. On August 27, 2019, the transmission was ordered. $1250.00 This business requires payment via electronic check. DO NOT SEND THIS SCAM / FRAUD COMPANY ANY MONEY!

Immmediately, they endorsed and cashed the check. Weeks went by as I regularly contacted this business, via email, to ensure I have all correspondence documented. I inquired about the date of delivery for the transmission. J.R., LNU, would reply to emails that he was waiting for a part, waiting for a truck to pick up the transmission for delivery, ALL LIES! FRAUDULENT INFORMATION SENT ACCROSS STATES LINES VIA EMAIL THEREFORE, IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW. "Interstate Commerce."

I searched their business web page and finally located their refund policy. Although I now know this "company" is a scam now, it states they have 6 WEEKS to ship the transmission. If your transmission is not received within six weeks, you must write them and request a refund.

Then, their site states they have an additional TWO WEEKS before they will mail you a refund. Still contacting the business, I waited the six weeks required per their scam refund policy. I sent a letter requesting a full refund. Two weeks later, I emailed this company to check on the status of the refund.

They emailed me that the check had been mailed. They did not mail the check so it could be tracked. A week later an enveople arrived with a check. A hand written / addressed envelope which appeared to be written by child or someone who could not spell / or is illiterate.

No company envelope with a business name etc..The check was deposited. It would NOT clear. Insuffient funds. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY LAWS CONCERNING BAD CHECKS / FRADULENT CHECKS. To date, the refund check will not clear.

I will be fling legal action against this company. Both a civil federal proceding and a civil proceeding in the State District Court that has jusridiction concerning this business. If others have been ripped off by this company, I am willing to assist anyone with filing law suits against this company. You must have proper documents that verify your loss. (emails, recorded conversation, written correspondence, returned check etc..) There are statutes of limitations / time requirments to file proceedings. Contact me and I will review your situation.

I had a transmission built by this company. The price was very affordable. They told me about the warranty and that the old transmission needs to be returned to them to honor the warranty if something happens. I told them as soon as my mechanic can yank the old one out and put in the new one, I will bring it back to them. I had to have the transmission done at my house, because it was not drivable. I was not there, when my mechanic worked on it, as I work a lot. After getting the truck on the road (registered and insured), I started to drive it and was having lots of trouble with the shifting and overheating. I took it to a transmission place to inspect it. They said there is definitely something wrong inside the transmission. Unfortunately, I had to pay to have it removed again, but J.R. from Toms River Transmission told me to bring it in and they will look at it. It turns out my mechanic did not flush the lines when reinstalling the transmission. It was of no fault of Toms River Transmission, but they repaired it for me anyway, at almost no cost. I see everyone writing bad reviews about them online, but it always turns out that they didn't return the old transmission or something else that was not the fault of Toms River Transmission. When I read those reviews, I admit that I was scared. But J.R. helped me fix the problem at a very low cost even though it was my mechanics fault. I didn't have to ask him, or beg him or argue. He definitely did me a solid, even though he had no obligation to do that. I think that only the people with bad experiences submit their experiences on these complaint websites and I see that they did not follow the directions to return the old transmissions etc. I probably wouldn't have posted a review either, except that I can see now that the ones posting negative comments are the ones who did not follow the warranty procedure and caused the problems themselves. I definitely would recommend them to others. They are a business. They need their core transmissions. They also need you to not void the warranty if you expect them to fix it for you. Thanks J.R. and the other guy (sorry I forgot your name. haha)

Review: I have bought a rebuilt transmission from toms river transmission.

Picked trans up at shipping company and I could see no tail shaft housing, now I am buying a complete trans.

Get trans. In my shop and go to use my old tail shaft housing there is treads stripped out in trans from toms river trans.

to bolt housing on.

I emailed toms river jr the owner denied any problem with trans and told me I don't know what I am doing.

Why would any one sell transmissions without a tail shaft housing unless you know there is a problem.

The why they shipped the transmission was very poor.

It was on a pallet covered poorly wit card board tied up with wash line.I could see the transmission with the tail shaft open.now the transmission is open for any dirt to get inside of it.

My opinion on this is that toms river knew the transmission had issues with the tail shaft and that's why they didn't bolt one on.I have never heard of buying a transmission with out a tail shaft housing.

Then I installed transmission and fluid is pouring out where bolt hole on new trans is stripped out.Desired Settlement: I paid $1,100 and $90. In transmission fluid,my wasted time with this company.

$300. For my wasted time.

This company would give me zero satisfaction on anything.

Review: I contact Tom's River Transmission after researching rebuilt transmissions for my 2004 Ford F-150 truck. In preliminary discussions I informed a gentleman who signs his email as JR, that my research had led me believe I needed a transmission model 4R70E, JR told me that 90+% (not sure what percentage he quoted, but it was greater than 90%) of Ford trucks built that year has a model 4R70W, so he's the expert, who am I to argue. Paid $1200.00 up front, mistake on my part, and received the 4R70W transmission.

After removing my original transmission I noticed an extra sensor on the side of my transmission that was not on the replacement. After contacting JR, he said what I had was a 4R75E transmission and that I would have to order another one because I ordered

the wrong one. Well after further research, a local Ford Dealer confirmed that the transmission in my vehicle is the 4R70E as I originally thought. JR is now stating that a 4R70E or 4R70W transmission has only one sensor. So he doesn't even know his product or is knowingly misleading me because he's contradicting the Ford Motor Company itself. I asked to swap out the transmission with the correct one and he is unwilling. That is why I am filing.Desired Settlement: I expect him to replace the transmission and pay to ship the correct one I attempted to order in the first place.

Review: I purchased a transmission and torque converter for $1400. It took 2 months to come in, and when I installed it, it instantly started malfunctioning. When I called Tom's river transmissions he told me that instead of taking it to a local shop to get diagnosed like he said before I paid him, here told me I had to change shift solenoids my self. When I told him that's not what we had discussed and I did not know how to do that, he said I either had to learn how to do it or pay for a mechanic to fix the problems. I took it upon myself to bring it to the dealership and get diagnosed and found out it was a internal 3rd gear mechanical malfunction. When I called Tom's river transmissions with the news he said it was my fault for driving my truck, but he would not pay for a tow truck or the diagnosis. Now he wants me to pay another $700 to have the transmission sent back to him, but with his dishonesty already showing very clearly I'm worried once he gets it he will find a reason to void the warranty and I'll be out of all the money and time I've spent already and without a transmission at all! I don't feel it's fair to have already spent $1650 for a transmission that did not make it 50 miles, just to spend another $700 to have it shipped when he said they covered the cost dir shipping in the event of a major malfunction.Desired Settlement: I want my $1400 back or, a working transmission at his cost.

Response:

Customer failed to mention the reason it so long for him to receive the transmission. He ordered a particular transmission for his vehicle. After it was built and ready to ship he says he made a mistake and ordered the wrong transmission for his vehicle. Money was pent and time was put in to rebuild exactly what he ordered. Now he wanted me to build a different tranny for his vehicle, which I did and later shipped to him. As for his problem, these transmission need to be installed by professionals who know what they are doing. He did himself to save money. Had he shipped it back I would have inspected it and determined the cause of the problem, if there ever was a problem. He chose not to do that. That was his decision. Thank you Toms River Transmission

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I have been a mechanic in the military and for various businesses for over 12 years. The warranty and how he lied about it is the issue! He knew I was installing it myself when I ordered it! I took it to a dealership and got it diagnosed and they found major mechanical issues. And as towards my mechanical skills I had to rebuild my old tranny myself and got it installed and it's working fine now. He lied about what would happen if I ever had a problem with his bogus transmission. Quit avoiding the issue at hand! Why did you lie to me and refuse to take back the garbage you sold me and give me my money back? Why won't you pay for a so called qualified mechanic to inspect it like you said you would? And then they could have confirmed that it was installed correctly. I feel like that is part of this scam you stuck me in. But encase your curious it's a third gear shift and clutch problem and I have the proof if you would like to see it.
