Tom's Seal Coating And Paving Reviews (1)
Review: On October 12, 2013 we contracted with Tom of Tom's Seal Coating and Paving to repave our driveway. Tom and his crew came October 16th, dug up the old driveway, lay stones and repaved the driveway. When I asked about a warranty, Tom stated in the presence of a neighbor: "One year warranty...If there's a problem I'll fix it...that's the kind of man I am..." The next time it rained, large puddles formed in the driveway in several areas where it was not graded properly. We called to complain. Tom eventually sent some workers to fix the problem, but they created an eyesore that did not fix the problem. The water still puddled and drained toward the house rather than away from it. Puddling was NOT a problem with the old driveway. It is now 10 months later and the problem created by Tom's Seal Coating and Paving is still not fixed.
Soon after the job was completed I called Tom to complain. On 11/29/13 I received a voice mail response from Tom saying "I don't need no bad publicity...I'll redo the driveway in the spring." In a letter dated 12/13/13 we accepted Tom's proposal to repave the driveway. Spring came and went. I called Tom again, asking to set a date for the job. He said he had to check his schedule and would get back to me. We haven't heard from him nor did he respond to yet another and final follow up call. Attempt to contact him via certified mail has been fruitless. The driveway is already cracked in some places and five-foot puddles still accumulate, draining toward our house in warmer weather and becoming five-foot ice patches in winter weather.Desired Settlement: We want Tom to either redo the driveway with proper grading and quality materials or refund our money. He did not follow through with the stated warranty. The driveway wasn't done properly to begin with. It is not fixed.
