I told the staff when making a hair appointment and during the visit that I was using a gift card. Upon checkout, they said they didn't take these
On 9/11 I went into the T& G location in Katy, TX to ask about setting up a hair color appointment. I told the staff that I had a $100 gift card I wanted to use for the visit. I set appointment for 9/24 and came back yesterday. I had an excellent visit with the stylist Aime. She also knew I was planning to use a gift card to pay for this visit, as it was a huge splurge for me. She did exactly what I asked for and I was super pleased. Until I went to check out. The girl checking me out quoted the total $303, and I gave her the gift card to use first. She had trouble with it and asked someone to come over and help. The other staff member said that this franchise hadn't been open long (about a year) and they might not be able to receive gift cards. They needed to call the manager (it was 7:30 pm by now so she had gone home). She agreed that they would not take the card and offered to take $10 off of the price for my trouble. I was devastated. I pulled out the cash I had and paid for most of the balance and had to use my debit card for the last $98. I had already tipped my stylist a healthy amount before this trouble started. She did her job well and earned her tip. I had called to certify the balance on the card before going to the store by using the number on the back of the card The automated system said the balance was $100. The manager also tried to say that the cards were only good for 6 months and I did not have the receipt (it was a Christmas gift). The automated system said nothing of expiration dates. I told the staff how dissatisfied I was with this I could have been a returning customer and could have given good reviews of them locally, but not now. The staff member asked for my number, saying she would have the manager call me today to discuss this. I waited all day for a call that didn't come. I am now going through a more public channel to make my complaint know. This location knew I was planning to use a $100 gift card when I made the appointment and during my spot. I feel that by no one mentioning that they did not take cards that they would accept it. I felt like I had been deceived into services I did not actually have the money for as the staff understood part of the bill was being covered by a gift card. The manager would not speak to me on the phone and then did not call me today either. I would like to have restitution either with a refund if the $100 or with $100 in goods or services. This was poor business and a bad reflection on an otherwise good company.

Desired Outcome

I would like to have the $100 I had to pay out of pocket returned to me as I did not plan to spend that, the service had already been done and they would not accept my gift card

I have been purchasing Toni and Guy Session series hair spray for over 6 years now, I have had many issues with the spray not being able to be used around half the bottle is gone, I tried to contact them but they told me to go to the palace that I bought it at but they are shut down, so I purchase another bottle and now the same thing has happened I cannot use the bottle and it is more that half full these hairsprays are around $25 and I cannot use them, I want a replacement for these two bottles and I also want to know why this is happening and why they havent fixed it yet.

Hello,

In response to the above mentioned complaint, TONI&GUY does not manufacture the TONI&GUY Sessions Series, (the actual name is TIGI Sessions Series) that product is actually manufactured by TIGI, which is a division of Unilever. The consumer will need to contact TIGI customer service at: ***@tigihaircare.com in order to resolve the issue with the sprayer not working after half the bottle is used.
