Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/11) */
We give a consumer days to pay their account before putting it on their credit recordThis account is paid in full but was assigned to our office 2-and not paid until 12-Accounts are not removed from a consumer's credit when they are
paid in fullHowever, the account will show a "paid" status on the consumer's credit
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/01/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This was paid in full as you said, which means it needs to be removedThe other companies I just dealt with removed there collectionsIf not I will be forced to escalate it to the credit bureaus, which I hope doesn't have to happenMY I also state I received NO NOTIFICATION OF THIS DEBT FROM THIS OFFICEOnly way I found out was checking my credit score recently, hints the reason I emailed them for the account number to pay itI have the emails
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/01/11) */
A paid in full account is not removed from a consumer's creditIt is updated as "paid"We had no mail return from the numerous notices sent to the consumerDue to the fact that that we cannot prove the consumer received notices any more than he can prove he didn't, we have requested this account be removed from the consumer's creditIt may take up to days for the credit bureau to update his credit record and this is beyond our control
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2016/01/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/09/02) */
Our credit reporting policy has been in place for many yearsWe have no control over what other companies doCollection accounts are not removed just because a consumer pays it in fullAt no time did our representative say or infer that an
account would be removed from the consumer's creditPerhaps the consumer thought we would remove the account if he paid cash because other companies had done so
After reviewing this account, our manager called the phone number the consumer provided, however, the number was not in serviceSince we have not been able to contact the consumer by phone, a letter is being sent to the consumerThe letter will explain our resolution to this complaint

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/01/30) */
All updates on accounts (including accounts discharged to bankruptcy) are reported to the major credit bureausWe do not report to *** *** or have any control over the information that they provideWe were notified of the consumer's
bankruptcy on 2-10-and reported the accounts as being discharged in bankruptcy on 3-6-Again this was reported to the major credit bureausWe are sending a request to the credit bureaus again today asking that the consumer's accounts be updated to reflect that they have been discharged due to bankruptcyWe do not report to *** ***
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2017/01/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/23) */
These accounts were included in [redacted] and this is public record. Once an account is paid in full, it will be reported as paid but it is not deleted from a consumer's credit.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/02/23)...

*/
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
These accounts have been paid in full therefore they should be deleted from my credit. I never reviewed any prior notice of these account either.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2016/02/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I never received any notice by mail or phone until I was served the judgement papers. That is when I called into your office to pay the accounts your office did not ever contact me. Updating these accounts to paid does nothing for a consumers credit. They should be removed exspecially if you have a consumer that is actually paying their debt.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2016/02/24) */
The facts are that all proper notification was sent to the consumer and no mail was returned. We contacted the consumer by phone twice and left 2 messages. Accounts are not deleted just because they are paid. The credit is updated to reflect the paid in full status. All the accounts in question were included in a judgement and all judgment information is public record. We have responded to this complaint and have no further comments.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/06/29) */
Yes, this account is paid in full. A collection account is not removed from a consumer's credit. The account was reported to the 3 credit bureaus as paid in full on 7-13-15.
