Review: I am writing about an incident that took place the night of July 31, 2014, roughly at 10:00pm-11:00pm.My girlfriend and I were visiting from Miami. This was our first night in New Orleans. We had just gotten to Bourbon Street at about 6:00pm. We walked from our hotel on Royal Street and 10th to Bourbon and walked all the way down. Getting the obligatory fishbowl and having a few snacks along the way.We decided to eat dinner. After dinner, we stepped outside and there is a frozen drink establishment across the street and I honestly noticed the woman working there looking right at us. I didnt think anything of it at the time. I thought it was just a coincidence.We walked right in front of the place, Mango Mango Daiquiris Pizza by the Slice which was located on 201 Bourbon Street, and she forcefully grabs my girlfriends wrist and pulls her inside. This was a heavy-set black woman with shocking crayola red hair. She tells my girlfriend, Here honey, have a shot. and proceeds to pour, bottom portion of the shot glass in her mouth, into my girlfriends mouth. My girlfriend hates shots. It ended up spilling all over her shirt.Then she said it was my turn and poured two shots down my throat. Now, as Im taking the shot, I realize that this might not be for free. If I were a more argumentative person, I never would agree with her charging me for those shots because she literally just grabbed us and poured it on us. The point Im trying to make is she NEVER said a price. I could see how some people would think this might have been a complimentary shot. But, as the shot went down my throat, I figured, Well, Im vacation. Ill just pay the $12.00, $15.00, hell, maybe even $20.00 for the shots.As soon as I finished, her demeanor changed and she says rather rudely, Thatll be $30.00. I was shocked. I said, $30?! For those shots? I could get 2 patron shots for that amount. It was those tubes with the watered-down shots that come in aqua blue and hot pink. Not only did she bamboozle us, shes OVER charging us those 4 shots! Im from Miami! I know how those Daiquiri places work. That was ridiculous. I tell her, Im sorry. Were not paying for that. You never told us a price.She said, Yes, I did. I told you how much it was.Well then, I want to see your manager. I said.She proceeded to call me a cheap skate and other horrible names. She then pointed to her friend, a black, blonde woman sitting on a table behind her.Didnt I tell him the price?You sure did. I heard you.I knew we had been had. I yelled, Well, call the cops because Im not paying for thisMy girlfriend tells me, Im not going through this embarrassment. and decided to pay with GIRL #1 at the bar. I stayed with girl #2 and told her, How can you guys sleep at night? You know you did us dirty.She was so ashamed she looked away. I then asked her if she was God fearing and she responded are you? as she stared me up and down and at the empty fishbowl I had around my neck. I told her, Yes I am. And just so you know. Im not intoxicated. We just got here to New Orleans, so you picked on the wrong one.She said to me, Why do you keep picking on me? Go tell the girl who did it to you!I asked her, So you admit it?She stayed quiet. I proceeded then to stand outside of the establishment and tell people not to come inside. That place is running a racket! My girlfriend joins me outside and we walk across Bourbon. I just stayed looking at the place and watching these two young women laugh at the fact that they basically just stole our money.It wasnt 3 minutes later when she grabbed another young, presumably drunk, couple forcibly by the wrists into the place with Girl #1 about to give them their shots. I ran to rescue them. I said, did she tell you these shots for both of you are going to be $30?!The young women said What?! No. Girl #1 pushed me with all her might out of the establishment and said she was going to call the police. I told her, Go for it.She walked down the next bar over, and I followed. She tells the cop, Hes messing up my sales, or something to that effect.I said Sir, those womenHe interrupts me with, Get the F- out of here.I know how THAT story ends. So I looked at the girl and said, At least I saved ONE of your victims. And she screamed obscenities at my girlfriend and me as we embarrassingly left.But I realized that all of this, in my opinion, was connected. She sees these tourists come out of a restaurant, one of them with an empty fishbowl around his neck, and assumes were both incapacitated and inebriated. We were neither. My girlfriend paid that bill because she doesnt like confrontation. I do not have such fears. Its also my opinion that the officer that was sitting next door was in on it. Its the only way to explain his reaction to me.I went back a couple of days later and noticed the same girls were working with the same officer next door. I already posted a negative review on Yelp and, lo and behold, that are at least 3 other people who have posted similar experiences to mine.The next time Im in New Orleans Ill be sure to video tape any similar encounters and post them on Youtube. I am requesting a refund of $37.00 $30 for the drinks and the laughable tip of $7.00.Desired Settlement: I would like a check for the $37.00 we paid.
