Before the move, an estimate and outlook of services was provided for *** ***The first portion of the move occurred from *** NJ to a self-storage facility in Jamesburg, NJ in August, The second portion of the move occurred from the self-storage facility in Jamesburg, NJ to the
final destination in *** ** *in March, The storage unit was held by *** ***, of which Flatbush Moving had no access; except for moving into the unit in August, and moving out of the unit in March, It is unknown if the condition of the goods that was delivered into the unit is the same condition as when it was removed for delivery to new residenceOnce a mover delivers into a self-storage unit, all carrier liability is releasedIt is unclear if the unit was accessed and the pieces were moved during storageIn March, 2017, the move to *** *** home in *** took placeThe upright piano was moved into the study at the new residence in *** *** As explained later in the complaint by *** ***, the middle pedal was missingA major flaw in a piano, such as a missing pedal, is difficult to miss upon it’s placement in a new locationIts condition should have been noted upon placementUpon discovering that a TV Stand and electrical wire was missing, Flatbush Moving’s employees spent one hour searching for themThose items could not be found, and Flatbush Moving credited her move for $as reimbursement for those supposedly missing itemsThe search, which took place for one hour, should have cost the overtime rate of $However, the customer was not charged as a sign of good faithIn May 2017, two months after the move, *** *** called Flatbush Moving, claiming damage to the piano in the form of one missing pedalThis middle pedal was supposedly found (by named unknown) in the garage on a shelf, while unpacking boxes (contents of which unknown)Only upon the discovery of the missing pedal, did *** *** realize the piano was damaged*** *** sent pictures of the claimed damages to the younger MrL***, which was showed to the senior MrL***Sometime later, *** *** called the senior MrL*** to discuss the emailMrL*** Srdid not curse at *** *** on the phone, as he was trying to figure out more information regarding the specifics of the claimUpon *** *** dramatic and overzealous reaction to the further questioning, MrL*** Sroffered to split the costs of the damages in lieu of filing a claimThis was unfavorable to *** *** who hung up on MrL*** Sr, thus declining the offerThe piano was repaired by *** *** on her own volition and an email was sent regarding reimbursement, despite the repair occurring without prior authorization or agreement::End of Complaint.:: *** *** had denied the purchase of additional valuation coverage for her move, and signed for the accepted $per pound per article coverage*** *** signed the Bill of Lading, dated 3/21/2017, that the services were completedThe amount of $for piano repair should not be granted since it is unclear when or how the damage occurredThank you for your timeJohn L***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:MrL*** is clearly lyingThe first contract shows a rental of blankets for $to wrap the piano inThese blankets would be rented for the duration of the time the piano was in storage and a refund would be provided on the final moveA suggestion made by MrL*** at the time the contract was madeNo extract insurance was bought because it was suggested that the contract already provided coverageThe middle piano pedal was not missing, it was broken in two by the movePlease see attachmentThe pedal is made of hard metalThe piano repair person had to take the piano apart in order to remove the broken pedal half that was secured in the pianoIt is obvious the movers had no experience in moving a pianoThe piano was wrapped in the blanket by the movers and the pedals were not secured properlyBecause the blankets were never removed after the first move, it is hard to say if the damage occurred on the first moved or the last one, since the blankets were only removed at the final move and by the movers, who found the broken pedal in the blanket and did not say anything since there was a dilemma with the TV missing base and cable cordThe piano was the last item moved from the truck as the men were busy setting up beds and assembling the TVs.Yes I hung up on Mr L*** because his conversation was abusive and belittling to me on the phoneHe verbally and condescendingly attacked my affording a vacation after a moveI could not listen anymore as he was not willingly to talk about the piano but more shouting about the overtime he had to pay his menI will also add that the time was not only spent searching for the TV base but that the men were also trying to repair a bed head board that was damaged in the move A damaged headboard I overlooked because the men were nervousTwo of the men were part of the first move and remembered the items. Please have Mr L*** explain the insurance coverage provided by his company in the contract
Regards,
*** ***
