Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2016/08/10) */
This is an insurance claim that turned from a restoration into a free renovation for the homeowner. We kept fixing items that were not related to the loss in order to keep the home owner happy. We gave things that we should not have given...

after reviewing the file. The PM on the file is no longer with Winmar. We drew the line when the homeowner wanted new tile in her basement indicating that we broke a bunch. I have been doing this for over 10 years and we have never broken tiles and am using the confidence of our procedures in place and after meeting with all staff involved they are adamant that the damage was pre-exisitng.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2016/08/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This was an insurance claim, however I would like to know how it turned into a "free renovation". The things you mention having to "fix" were because of employees of Winmar not being [redacted], as the destruction in my home from Winmar employees was just unspeakable. The PM who was originally on the job was well aware of the damage to the tiles and many other things. The tiles were damaged in the hallway from the large equipment being brought into the home. At the time that included several fans, dehumidifiers, and an air quality machine. The tiles were not broken until these machines were brought in the house. You might not have broken my tiles yourself, but your emploees who were on this site did. I would say that your procedures you are so confident in are flawed. The damage to my tiles were not pre-existing. And I would like to know how you spoke to all staff involved as there were different people in my home every time Winmar showed up. There wasn't any reason for Winmar to keep me "Happy" as any work that was done had to be confirmed via my home insurance adjuster, there wasn't any kind of a go ahead unless the adjuster said it was fine.Therefor I don't appreciate being referred to as a unhappy home owner.[redacted] All I had to do when the original flood happened in 04/2015 was call my Insurer which I did, they sent out Winmar as they are described as a Restoration Company after a disaster ,I had no say in what work would be done if any,so to say that this job started as a Insurance Claim and turned into a "Free Renovation" is not doing business in good faith.
Are indicating that somehow I took advantage of Winmar? I will be in touch with my insurer ASAP and will ask for a complete File on my property pertaining to the Claim. I would also like a copy of your file you have on my property with your list of " free renovations". I can present you with my list of damages and pictures. You as the President /Director of Operations have shown [redacted] as you were not capable of returning any of my phone calls that I had made to you directly. I have made several calls and I have record of all my calls to Winmar that have not been returned.
I expect my property to be fixed, as this damage was caused by Winmar during the containment and removal of material from my home.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2016/08/24) */
As far as Winmar is concerned is the glass 1/2 moon trim which was completed in June or July. Only other issue was damaged tile which we feel was pre-existing.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2016/08/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Winmar seems to have my home confused with another property they are repairing. My home does not have any " glass 1/2 moon trim". Winmar may want to go back to their file on my home and refresh themselves with the property.
On June 18 -2015 when the containment was taken down out of my basement it was discovered the tiles were damaged. Winmar was notified of the damage and came to my home to take pictures. Winmar then told me that the damage to the tiles would be fixed once all other work was done in my home so there would be no more traffic by their employees on it.
I was told by my Insurance adjuster that all damage that was caused in my home by Winmar would be fixed by Winmar. And the tile damage was part of that damage list from June 18-2015 when the containment was taken down.
The damaged tile in my home was not "pre-existing", it was caused by Winmar employees that were in my home during the containment process .
I expect the damaged tiles to be replaced.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/07/24) */
This has been ongoing for some time (3+ years). We have sent experts out to review and have offered to fix tiles. File is now with our legal counsel and Mr. [redacted] is aware any communication is to go through [redacted] at [redacted]. ...

[redacted]. Thanks
