Tony's Restaurant

Please see attached reply to the complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:
I was completely stunned as I read the amount of fabrication
given as the excuses continued to mount up even from the owner in his response
to my complaint. Let me start
by saying
had we not been given the assurance in writing and over the phone that my
request would be granted, I would have taken my fiancé to another restaurant to
propose. And we could have just come to
Tony's for dining another time. For my
favorite restaurant is [redacted] and I am sure that they would have
fulfilled my request with no problems. I
just wanted to try somewhere new.
Secondly, it was stated that the maître d determined at the
moment of execution it would have not been surprising to bring the ring in on a
cart because it could not have been placed close to the table. I'm not understanding that for we have been accommodated
food in that location all evening and I am sure that if we would have ordered
another entrée it would have been "prepared" right at our corner table. That was just an excuse to bring that ring
out in the and convenient fashion for the business. And if
it would not have been a very surprising moment yet at my request, I could have
handled that a lot easier that her telling me when the server came around the
corner with the pedestal that she knew exactly what was happening because in
her experience as a chef, she knew that it wasn't time for them to bring that
pedestal out.
Finally, concerning the food and a return visit with a
complimentary bottle of wine, truth; I did enjoy the steak because I am a steak
person. However, I did not like the
salad for I don't eat the type of dressing offered. I didn't like the potatoes for I prefer a
fully loaded baked potato. And the
bread was hard, which hurt my mouth as I just had two extensive oral surgeries
and can prove it. I wanted the proposal experience to be a
memorable one so I did not portray any discomfort. And as far as a return visit, oh, that will
NEVER happen! I will tell all my family and friends that the owner did not even
try to rectify this situation. A bottle
of wine to people who don't drink was an insult. I would have even taken better a phone call
to at least listen to my side of the story and not just accepting the word of
his staff. All thumbs down to Tony's who
completely lied to me in order to get my business for after checking out the
caliper of people in there, (caps backwards, jeans) the place is not in no way
near what its reputation dictates.
