Tools For A Time Reviews (1)
I purchased a brand new Echo PE-225 edger from "Tools for a Time" on 5/2/2013 for $[redacted] and about four months later in August I begin to have issues with the edger. During the middle of the day after being used a few times the edger will not start and stay running. I took the edger back to "Tools for a Time" on 8/5/2013 and they told me it was bad gas. After using the edger with the gas supplied from "Tools for a Time" I noted there was no change in operation. The edger continued to die in the middle of the day. I purchased a carburetor for the edger and still it continued to die in the middle of the day. I then took the edger back for a second time on 9/6/2013. They said it may be the ignition coil. They didn't carry the part and would have to order the part. A manager there insisted that I rent a tool for $25 a day until the part arrives and they can fix the edger. I declined to rent an edger during this warranty repair. It was on 9/12/2013 that I received a call from "Tools for a time" stating that they have fixed the edger by replacing the coil. I picked the edger up the same day. To my displeasure the edger continued to die in the middle of the day. By this time I grew frustrated with the edger and called to speak with a manager. None was available and I was instructed to bring it back. Before taking it back I visually inspected the edger and noted that the coil had not been replaced. On 9/14/2013 when I arrived at "Tools for a Time" I was approached by the technician and he was holding an old coil. He said this came out of my edger. I showed him my edger and we both noted there was something odd about the torn spark plug boot on my edger. New coils come with new boots and why was my edger's spark plug boot torn? He insisted on taking it back. I could hear them start up the edger and run it for a minute. An older man came out and shoved the edger in my face. He said that there is nothing wrong with it and to leave. I asked to speak with a manager and he told me to never return.
