Top Care Roofing & Buildings Reviews (6)

I paid for double trusses for the support system in our new building. Top Care was deceiving us; by trying to use single trusses. Poor service. On April 3, 2015 I purchased a building from Top Care Roofing and Building. I paid $6,413.01; half of the grand total $12,826.02. My son and I made numerous attempts to contact these people on the status of the building:4-13,4-14,4-25,5-4,5-15,5-18,5-20,5-27.On 5-27, [redacted] gave me a drop dead date to start on 6-3.When no building was started; my son went to the shop in Kinston on 6-5-15 to check on the progress When he arrived; they showed him the trusses that they were working on for our shop. It was not the double truss systemthat we paid an extra $1,975.00 for. [redacted] said we had to pay an extra 19 hundred dollars if we wanted double trusses. The certified blue prints show that we ordered double trusses. When [redacted] realized wewould not pay for the double trusses again; she changed her story. She stated that the state of NC would not let her put the building on our existing concrete. My son, [redacted] then called the Kinston police department.Sargent [redacted] arrived; looked at our paperwork and certified blueprints. He agreed that we had paid for double trusses. Then [redacted] said she had talked to the Craven County Building inspector. She stated that he had done core samples of the concrete. Sargent [redacted] called the man she said she had communicated with; andhe said he had not been contacted in any way by [redacted] When we were purchasing the building; we told [redacted] that there was an existing building on the property. She said that there was no need to get a building permit: sincethere was an existing structure. We believed her to be honest. [redacted] told her it would take a week to tear the old building down. He called her on April 13, 2015 ;stating that the building was down. He took some measurements; and realized the existing concrete was out of square. He called [redacted] to have someone come look at the concrete and take the actual measurements for the building. After numerous attempts;11 days later,4-25-15, he got up with [redacted] She said someone had already been out and taken the measurements. She said the materials were at her shop, and they would start on Mon. 4-27-15. When [redacted] was at the shop on 6-5-15;he nor Sargent [redacted] could find any of the gray metal that we selected for our building. After 2 hours ; [redacted]gave us this IOU that stated these lies about inspection of the concrete, and material purchased. She wants to charge me40 % restocking fee; when she did not have the material. We were lied to so many times about numerous things. I justwanted a building. I paid [redacted] half the money in good faith. I feel that she deliberately misled us. She had no intention of installing double trusses like the certified blue prints show. At no time did she ever inform us there was anytype of problem with our concrete. In fact she tried to get another 19 hundred dollars from us. I just want fair resolution:All my money back. I have been paying $103.00 a month to [redacted] in Bridgeton, N.C. for a metal sea-train since April. I rented the sea-train to keep our tools secure until the new building was erected. This is just another added expense to all this confusion. Sargent [redacted] has a lot of information about her deception that he did not put in the standard police report. He said if it went to court; he would be happy to testify in our behalf. I feel that when you pay for something in goodfaith, you should get what you pay for.Desired SettlementIt is very simple. I want all my money back. If it has to go to court I will sue for lawyer fees, sea-train rental, and a full refund. I was deceived by this company. I have money tied up with this outfit; and I still have to buy a building to store my tools.

Building had a contract date of delivery of 4 weeks. After the 6th started calling Top Care, no call returned. Three month later still no building.Non delivery of building after 3 months and not given a date the building will be delivery. Desired SettlementBuilding being built by one weekBusiness Response /[redacted]/Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comStructure was delayed due to varies weather conditions that were out of our control. Structure is currently in process of being installed.Consumer Response /[redacted]/Top Care called and was told construction would start on last Friday. I took a day off from work, no construction started, called Top Care, they didn't have the building materials to begin construction. Said would start on Monday, building supplies bought to my house. Construction started on Tuesday, today Wednesday work crew don't have supplies to finish construction. Has not been 4 months of bad weather, been 4 months if bad business

Ordered metal sheeting from this company, drove an hour to get it with no one showing up for work or answering until an hour later.Purchased metal sheeting. Called on Monday to tell them we would be there Wed to pick it up at 9am. After driving an hour to get there, no one shows up at 9am. Multiple attempts to reach them by phone and multiple voice messages left. After sitting for an hour, we had to leave due to having to go to work. Drove another hour back home. After 5 hours of not having them return my calls, I called to see if they could maybe deliver it to us at their cost being this was an error on their end. Was told multiple stories of why no one showed up for work until 10:30 when there business hours are from 9-4:30. Was told they weren't going to deliver it to us or meet us half way to get the metal. I even asked for compensation off of the price to cover the gas to drive another 2 hours there and back. I asked to speak with the owner of this small business and was told no. This metal was prepaid for in the amount of $750. They were very rude and inappropriate. I hope they don't do other customers this way. I am very frustrated and hope the Revdex.com can handle this.Desired SettlementI want them to deliver this metal to me or take some amount off of what they charged me. Once I go back to get the metal, I will have almost 4 hours of driving between those 2 trips.

Failure to Complete Project in Timely Manner. On Nov, 20th 2015 I paid a deposit (2360.95) to Top Care for the installation of a 24x24 building with 12x24 shed roof. They said there was a wait time of 6 to 10 weeks. It took them until April to get my concrete poured. I then paid an additional (2560.95) [redacted] said the would install quickly after the 14 day drying period of the concrete and again it has now been 3 additional months and still no building. Now they are not answering my phone calls and consistently giving excuses for the time delays but there is NO SERVICE, All talk. What was set to be 6 weeks has now turned in to 8 months. All I want is for my building to be completed, however my paperwork is now being put together in preparation for suit of this company. I hope they will resolve the issue by completing the project immediately. Time for resolution is quickly fading. You will note as a offering of respect I at this time do not seek to speak to the media about this complaint. However this offering of kindness and respect may too quickly fade.Desired SettlementAnswer my calls, stick to their word, finish the project Immediately.

Communicated with customer via e-mail and over the phone what would be replaced. Customer was educated about the roll-up door being non insulated which meant that is didn't come with the weather strip that would close off the gap. We offered other solutions to the customer. We scheduled a day to resolve the customer's concerns, however he did not pick up our calls, respond to our text messages, or e-mails. Another request has been made to the customer for an available date to complete his request but no responds has been received. The customer has advised previously that he needs notice before we go on the property because he has to make sure his dogs are locked in the home. If we could receive an availability date from the customer we will be able to complete the request.Consumer Response /[redacted]/topcareroofing was surpose to come on 9-6-2014 but did not show up or call me. I have order the supply I need to fix shed . it will cost 350.00 dollar to fix correct. I will settle for this amout .Final Business Response /[redacted]/We spoke with the customer on September 5th the customer was advised the material was here. An e-mail was sent to the customer confirming to confirm arrival for September 6th. The customer did not reply to the e-mail. Messages and calls were made to the customer on September 6th, the customer did not call or respond. The customer advised that we are not allowed to go onto the property without him knowing, because he has to put his dogs in the home, since they could bite our crew. We called the customer on September 8th, the customer failed again to return our calls. September 10th the customer calls and advise he does not want us on the property to fix the building because he has someone he wants to do his building. This customer building is under warranty, if another party is hired to perform the work it could void the warranty. Top Care is still willing to go and resolve this, however customer is currently refusing. The customer is requesting money instead.
