Poor workmanship & uses inexperienced, lazy laymen who take shortcuts. Beware.

I hired Top Choice Mechanical on July 5,2018 to repair my home after my house fire. At first he said I would have full involvement in all decisions but when it came down to picking out the flooring, bathroom stuff, and kitchen backsplash, flooring, and the appliances it was rushed he called me and said to meet him at Lowe's at 5pm to pick all this out and pretty much rushed me through it and was on his phone half the time about another job. Mr. said that he would be done by October 30th, 2018 but when it came to that date they were not done I did not move into my house until after Thanksgiving. My mortgage company has been dispersing the checks and doing inspections through this whole process and they have sent out inspectors 5 or 6 times. They are now setting up another inspection within the next week or so so they can say he is 100% done. I contacted Mr. on March 25th,2019 to let him know that the electrical had been tripping and received no response the electrician finally just showed up and fixed the problem. The air conditioning guy finally showed up last week and looked at the air conditioner because it wasn't working. I was asked by the air conditioning guy which is his brother if I have received a check and I replied no because I have not received anything from the insurance company. I found out today that he has went and put a lien on my house and I don't think that is right considering he won't return my calls unless I say I have a check. In the end the repairs he did in my house are now falling apart the ladder to my attic the screws came out and someone could have got seriously hurt. I just wanted to let you know that he is not a good business person and I do not recommend him to anyone.

We are sorry you felt rushed during the process. As for the finishing date it is not uncommon for construction jobs to run past the completion date due to many factors. We can not move forward from step to step until inspections and permits have completed for each stage of construction. There were many changes to the original plan throughout this process and most of them were to your benefit. The Air Conditioning was originally going to be left alone along with the hot water tank and several other items. We managed to get all of those added to the project to improve the outcome along with a lot of other items. The gas line was damaged after the City decided the original drain line needed to be increased in size. It was repaired and paid for by us with no inconvenience to you during the construction. The air conditioning has been fully functional as far as we know with no complaints. The only reason we needed to recheck it was to double check the charge since it was started under very cool conditions. The electrical was taken care of. Maybe not as fast as you would have liked. We just found out about the ladder a few days before this review and it was actually noticed and brought up by me during the final check of the A/C. We have tried to contact you on several occasions and found out the same day we did about the ladder that your phone had been shut off. The reason for the lien is that we are still owed money on this project and recently found out that the house is being foreclosed on. Without the lien in place we will have no way to collect on this if the house is sold. Any concerns could have and should have been brought to our attention. There are several ways to contact our company; two phone numbers that were listed on Facebook, as well as several places on the internet, Facebook page itself, and the company address where your invoices originated.

Jay *** was very personable and explained how he could add gutters and remove / replace the fence around our pool. We began the process in May and paid a deposit for was estimated to take a few weeks to complete. The old fence from the around the pool was removed in June with a lot of damage to the cement retaining wall and brick work. Fence posts were installed in mid-June but the brackets used to hold the posts to the cement wall were different than planned and too large for the wall causing more damage. The gutters were installed in mid-July leaving a mess of aluminum debris and sharp screws on the driveway. It is now August and we still only have fence posts on a damaged wall. Jay has not returned emails for the last month. I would not recommend this business as they apparently cannot complete a job, are not qualified to accomplish what is promised, leave a mess, and won't communicate.
