Review: After reading reviews online I went to Top Fix Jewelry on 3/14/14. I dropped off two antique rings to be worked on. The first was a costume piece that needed to be sized. The second was an antique filigree ring from the early 1920's. This fine white gold ring needed to have the 3 synthetic stones replaced with 3 orange Sapphires that I supplied. The prongs also needed minor retipping. When I spoke to the jeweler at Top Fix I stated repeatedly that he needed to be competent in working with antiques before I signed the agreement to have the work done. I told him over and over that the ring needed to look the same and was NOT to be modernized or reworked to look new! He assured me that he would do a wonderful job and that I would not be able to tell the work had been done. Again, I told him that if he ran into troubles working with this antique he was to call me before moving forward. The jeweler agreed.When I picked up the antique ring (I already had the costume piece back) I was astonished. He was very busy but I told him that I was going to have this looked at by a few antique jewelry specialists. It just did not look right but I was leaving for Florida the next day and could not get the ring in until my return.Upon my return I took the ring to three antique jewelry specialists and they all told me that the ring had been modernized and had lost it's value. The prongs were completely altered and the item was worthless! I drove straight from the last specialist to Top Fix. I kindly asked for his work to be removed and for my money to be refunded. He lied by saying he would keep my ring antique and had cost me dearly. He refused to work with me saying I had agreed to his work. This is a lie as I was VERY bold in stating that in no way was this antique ring to be made modern. He refused to work with me and now I am out $150.00 and my one of a kind antique ring is worthless.Desired Settlement: I am kindly asking for a full refund of my $150.00. This in no way will compensate for the driving I have done to have this ring evaluated or the fact that I will still have to have the prongs removed and the stones reset by an antique specialist who is familiar with restoration.If he wants his prongs back I will work with him. I am more then willing to be kind and fair.

Review: I am a senior lady and brought my old Bulova watch to be cleaned in owner's ([redacted] ) shop. He told me he would call me later in the day to see how much the estimate would be to clean the watch.

The owner called me with my son, [redacted] as a witness to the phone call. The owner said the estimate to clean the watch would be $25. My son heard the owner say this on my speaker phone. I told the owner to clean the watch for $25 and he said it would be ready for pickup in a few days.

Thus, when I went to the owner's shop to pic up my watch, to my shock, he told me it would be $125 not $25. I was so upset that I told the owner I cannot pay for that fraudulent price. The owner retained the watch.

Immediately, I contacted the Irvine Police Department and they advised me to report him here and file a civil suit as well.Desired Settlement: I would like my Bulova watch back and will pay for the agreed cleaning price of $25 as the owner told me on the phone with my son, [redacted], as hearing the conversation on my speaker phone.
