***I sold her a Chrysler Pacifica with 150k miles on it Monday, 2/27/She then texted me Monday evening and told me there was no heat in the vehicle when she reached Rose Creek which is minutes from meI called her immediately and she told me she had heat and then it just gradually kept getting coolershe then proceeded to tell me that her son was a mechanicI took her word for that, I talked to him and he was going to fix the thermostat and do a heater core flush as that was his diagnosis as to the problemI told *** that I would pay for the parts and his laborHe called me the next day after he did the repairs and then told me that that hadn't fixed the problem either, and that he had then done a test and found that the head gasket was blownI decided that I wanted it taken into a professional mechanic shop, instead of paying for things that didn't need to be fixed and found one in Wells, MN where she livesI called *** and told her that she needed to take the car to Countryside Auto and I would have it fixedThe mechanic diagnosed the problem and said that there was a hairline fracture in the radiatorNo blown head gasketI paid for that repair to be done which was $as well as the repair that her son did which was $The repair that I paid for to be done by her son was not even the issue or the problem, but I still paid it.Then a couple weeks later I get a text from her stating she had gotten her oil changed at Midas in MankatoShe told me that the mechanic that changed her oil told her the subframe was rusted thru and that it wouldn't be safe to driveCome to find out, coincidentally, this is where her son the mechanic worksThey quoted her that to fix it with new parts would cost over $2,dollarsMind you this is a $dollar car that she bought and she wants me to pay over $to put in a new subframe in a year old vehicleI told her that I would not be doing that but I would call around and see what I could find outI then called my mechanic here in LeRoy and also the mechanic that did the radiator work for her in Wells, MNThey both stated that welding it would be the route they would goThe mechanic in Wells, MN told me about a shop in Wells that does this type of workHe told me that he thought it would be around $to fix it and the weld would more than outlast the life of this vehicleAgain, this is year old vehicle with 150K miles on itAt this time I called *** and informed her again that I would not be paying for the welding on the subframe, but I gave her the information on the welding place and told her that it would be around $and that I was assured by both mechanics that I spoke to that this was the route to goShe thanked me for being so kind and helpful and for doing all the leg work for her.Then another week passes and I get a text asking if she had warranty on this vehicle as she told me that she has been online researching and is now not ok with welding the subframeShe states that she thinks it is a band aid fix even though both mechanics state that welding would be the way they would go on a used vehicleThe weld will far outlast the life of the vehicle and be a less expensive route to goWelding is not a band aidI believe I have went above and beyond what I am obligated to do for *** by lawWe are a small business and do our very best to make sure we go above and beyond for all our customers, however it appears that with her son working for Midas, and that being who is recommending the $plus new subframe, there may be some conflict of interest in information being given.The purchase price of the vehicle is $not $5143.74.I am attaching documents that she signed regarding the / no warranty and all the repairs I have paid up to this point.
