Top Grade Moving and Delivery

I contacted Top Grade Moving and Delivery on June 20, 2014 to schedule their services for my move on July 1, 2014. I provided the square footage of my house, number of bedrooms needing to be moved, description of the larger pieces of furniture (including console piano), location for loading and unloading. I was given a price and paid my $200 deposit via [redacted] that day. On moving day, 3 men showed up at 10:15 and began loading. They completed loading at 1:30 p.m. I told them I didn't need them at my new place until 3 p.m. Upon arrival, 1 mover did most of the work, 1 stayed on the truck complaining of cramps and 1 was on the phone most of the time. Items were mishandled and broken (below) and 1 bookcase vanished between my house to my new apartment. The movers were provided water and Gatorade, which they gladly accepted, and 2 of the movers continued to sit in the truck for most of the afternoon. During this time, I made [redacted] aware of damages to a bookcase, dryer, and piano bench. I was told he would file a claim with the insurance company but it would take a while. He also stated they were unable to move my piano due to the weight and the stairs were unable to hold the weight. They never attempted to move it. The unloading was completed at 8:30 p.m. at which time they took my piano back to the original location and left it in the carport. Damage was discovered the next day when I examined it. I emailed [redacted] with pictures of the damage as well as to inform him that a bookcase did not get delivered to which he replied that the damage was pre-existing and that he under priced my move based on the information I originally provided and that everything was unloaded from the truck. I responded that the damage was NOT pre-existing and that I would be seeking damages. I have contacted him again regarding damaged items I have unpacked from my boxes.
