Review: I received a quote from Top Guns, Inc. on March 22, 2013 to replace the vinyl siding on my home. We signed a contract with the understanding that the work would begin in approximately three months or as soon I had the funds available.

I called Top Guns in June to let them know I had the money available and was ready to schedule an install date. [redacted] (the owner) came out, took the measurements and told us it would take approximately 5 weeks to get the materials and begin installation. We assumed at that point we would have the siding mid-August.

After 4 weeks passed I heard nothing so I called them and was told that they had sent us a letter shortly after [redacted] measured the house that said they could not do the job for the price quoted. I told them we never received a letter, nor did we receive any type of follow up phone call as you might expect from a company who wants your business. I asked for the bottom line and was told they would need $6,500.00 more to do the job because the price of the materials had gone up. This information was all relayed to us by the receptionist. I asked her to have [redacted] call me so we could discuss this. I also called the salesman ([redacted]) who came to do the original quote. I have yet to hear from anyone at Top Guns.

I have been researching this particular type of siding for over a year and have been in touch with the manufacturer several times. I spoke to them today and was told that the price of the product had not increased since I spoke to them last year, so apparently the excuse Top Guns gave me for the price increase was not true.

I am very disappointed with Top Guns' attitude towards their potential customers. If they didn't want the job they could have told me that three months ago and I could have found someone else to do the job.Desired Settlement: I do not have the time or energy to begin looking for a new contractor. I would like them to come do the job and honor the agreed upon price.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Agreements signed in March 2, 2013 with business stating everything will be ready to install in three weeks. Work Then never started until May 6 , 2013. First contractor assigned to job would only show up intermittently and was asked to not return because of his failure to show up for the job and portions of the roof were installed incorrectly and needed to be removed before new contractor could start. All material needed to perform work was not correctly ordered so again work had to be delayed. Windows were to be installed as part of work and not all windows were available to be installed nor completed. One window was broke during installation and has not been repaired. They have charged our bank the full amount for work completion and is not completed. The state website shows PA contractor license is expired, even after pointed out to them during their initial meeting with us.Desired Settlement: The tolerance we have shown this company is far beyond reasonable at this point in time. It has been an embarrassment to us and our neighborhood, neighbors continually question why work is not done and who we had contracted to perform work. This no one should need to experience. When questioned about items, the blame is always shifted to another person with in the company or contractor.
