We hired Top Hat Chimney and Masonry (owner Matthew C***) to lift up the sinking step at the front porch The original plan was to lift the step and pour concrete foundation to keep it from sinking for $ MrC*** assured that if step is broken in the process they will rebuild it for no extra charge We paid $down payment to start the work After work started it became apparent that contractor cannot move the step and more extensive work is required
We agreed on the final price of $and paid additional $and later $more in down payment
However when the step was rebuilt it looked substantially different in design from original step, and was not built to proper standards:
1) overall design did not match the top of the porch;
2) joints between bricks were significantly wider than top of the porch; these wide joints look particularly out of style in the corners;
3) bricks were not laid at the same level and did not form a straight line on the t
