One is entitled to understand charges, especially with no prior quote given. I purchased ALL materials and was to pay labor “only”. This complaint reveals his reaction on a call the evening of 11/16. No consumer should be subject to the tirade by Brad [redacted], handyman. INVOICE: 11/16, received the bill for Nov 11. RATE for each line item was repeated in the TOTAL column, which is inaccurate bookkeeping. I thought the charge was hourly as before (2hrs). I mentioned sticker shock; it incited him. He began running down the list and raising his voice, over talking; making irrational statements (few at end). He was defensive and combative. His tone was overly emotional. Very reckless with his words. He couldn't contain his temperament and became unhinged, angered and illogically irate. It was disturbing that he would damage his reputation by losing control. MATERIALS: 11/16, he said he was aggravated when I asked where the remaining materials where. It was materials I PURCHASED, there were unopened bags and others were = ½, ¼ full. He retrieved the unopened bags. To justify taking them, he said he used 2 endcaps of his own; the remaining items couldn’t have cost more than $30 -- as if immaterial. Yet, interesting enough, the cost was too significant to offer a $30 reduction. It wasn't his to take. In the end, he blamed the mix-up on his employee, interesting. (Sun 11/13 @ 4:30, after looking closer at the closet, the work needed reinforcement. I could’ve utilized the materials he took). TEXTING: 11/8, he texted me, “Do you text?”. Hesitant, I reasoned that it must be his preferred communication method. Especially since he initiated ALL communication via text thereafter (w/exception of 11/13, 14th). I told him texting is unprofessional; only reserved for family and friends. He said, "I never said it was my preference." Well, it was implied. Even after I ended the call, he felt compelled to text again. I was embarrassed for him. Throughout the course of the call he ranted: You couldn't get Casual Furniture to pick up the phone for that price! Apparently, it’s an issue since you brought it up. So, talk about it! I’ll come over there right now! Will you hush! I don’t care what you thought of me! You know what they say about you when you assume!
