Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Top Northwest Roofing installed defective material We should not be responsible for any costs associated with replacing the defective material The painting of the eves is a moot point, since the unpainted eves had the same high level of moisture content as the painted eves, as stated in the report from the water damage expert
This roofing job cost us $23, According to repair bids from other roofing companies, the cost to Top Northwest Roofing to replace the defective material would be around $2, If in fact you take pride in your reputation and workmanship, this cost seems inconsequential
At this point, if Top Northwest Roofing is not willing to repair their defective materials at no cost to us, we will be forced to retain an attorney and enter into arbitration.Sincerely,*** ***

I apologize for the miscommunication thenWe did offer to paint the eaves as we are a remodeling company and not just a roofing companyI want to help you get this problem resolved because we take great pride in our work and reputationWe will cover all cost of materialsYou would only be responsible for the labor cost

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: The response from Top Roofing has complete fabrications about what occurred As per their roofing contract, "if new sheeting is required, 1/2" CDX plywood will be installed." Top Roofing replaced sheets of CDX as outlined We were NEVER given the option of "pre-primed" sheeting Top Roofing NEVER offered to paint the eaves Why would a roofing company be offering to paint my house? All that was told to us was to have it painted "before winter." The roof was installed in March and the eaves were painted in early September after one of the hottest summers on record and were still saturated according to the water damage expert (*** *** with RECLAIM of Washington) hired by Top Roofing to inspect the damage The water damage expert told us the painting of the eaves has nothing to do with the mold growth, the paint only makes the mold more visible The unpainted eaves on the detached garage are equally saturated as tested by the water damage expert The summary of RECLAIM's findings were sent to Top Roofing stating the above facts
We filed a claim with our homeowner's insurance regarding the mold damage Our insurance agent declined the claim based on their belief that Top Roofing installed "defective material." Our insurance agent based that decision on the report from RECLAIM and their conversation with *** with RECLAIM Sincerely,*** ***

The customer contacted us to replace the roof on their house and garage. Upon inspection we found the underlayment to be rotten and needed to be replaced around the perimeter. We suggested a pre-primed underlayment but the customer declined because of the additional cost. We then replaced...

underlayment using a un-primed wood and the customer declined to have us paint that as well due to cost. The customer then painted the underlayment while the wood was still wet which trapped the moisture into the wood causing it to mold. Once we confirmed this was the cause of the issue we offered to replace the underlayment at cost but the customer declined.
