Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted]

I had scheduled an appointment several weeks in advance for chimney cleaningOn the date of service, several hours after the time block this service was scheduled to come, I received a call stating that they would need to cancelMy husband and I had literally waited half of a Saturday at home waiting for this appointmentThe woman was apologetic and stated I would be the first appointment the following Saturday morningI agreed and we set a timeToday, the day they were supposed to come, once again no one showed upI called the service at am and a very rude associate told me I wasn't on on the schedule and it "must have been Karen" and told me he would "see what he could do" and call me back and hung upI called back around 1:pm to see if someone was coming, as once again, we were waiting aroundWhen I called back he told me he was too busy for this and they always cancel appointments and I was never on the schedule anywayWhen I asked for a refund he told me to call *** and said he couldn't spend the day on the phone with me and hung upNot only have my husband and I wasted two Saturday's waiting for a service that this company clearly can't provide due to their lack of organization, but I had to deal with being hung up on twice by a disgruntled, unprofessional associate that clearly can't handle the responsibilities of his jobTruly a disappointing and frustrating experience

Really considers homeowner's needs and very responsive Would defiantly recommend to a friend and hire again

First, let me set up the situation. My mother accepted an invitation from another company via a telephone solicitation to have her chimney cleaned and inspected free of charge. When the tech arrived they proceeded to inform her that the company that installed the liner installed the wrong liner and installed it improperly. The tech continued to "scary" by giving her an estimate to remove and replace the loner system at a cost of $3300. At that point she called me, her son, for my opinion. We told him we were going to get a second opinion.
Back track a couple years, I had Top Notch Construction install a liner in my chimney which included few cleaning/inspections every two/three years.
Back to present time, I was due for a checkup so, I made the appointment and asked if they would inspect my mother's chimney. "No problem" stated the receptionist. The day of the appointment arrived and they arrived on time and inspected my chimney. When I asked if they could still have time to look at my mother's, they followed me right there. To my mother's and my surprise they performed a and inspected th system, cleaned it and told us there was nothing wrong with it. It was correct and installed properly. Two times they could have sold us something w didn't need and chose to do the honest and fair thing. The techs were pleasant and reassuring. Plus they always gave a better price estimate for the same quality work and product.

Like the other review posted on here, I am very disappointed in Top Notch. I too made an appointment several weeks on advance, returned their call the day before my appointment to confirm it only to receive a call the morning of saying they had to cancel because the technician wouldn't be in the area. The company is out of New Haven, and I live in East Haven so I don't even believe that. Our whole Saturday was cleared for this service which didn't happen. I called to complain and notified them of how unhappy I was at their excuse as I was paying them to be in my area and clean my chimney. They told me they'd put me on the schedule the next Saturday, same time, and discount my service $10 for inconvenience. They told me they'd definitely see me on the 19th. Fast forward to the 19th - total no shows. I didn't even waste my time calling again, as I have no faith in their company - I'll just spread the word for people to shop elsewhere!

Toney had her cap reinstalled.

Skinger received her check for 150.00 deposit.

I had my chimneys re cemented and flashings sealed today by top notch chemney/construction out of New Haven and Bridgeport ct. And I am 100% satisfied and impressed. Marc was very professional and walked me through the entire process. They're prices are fair and the work was Top Notch. Job well done.

Review: I cancelled a contract within the 3 day period and requested a refund of my deposit. Contract was dated 12/19/13 and I have been calling for over 3 months for the refund of $150.00. Spoke with [redacted] the owner on 4/16/14 and was told a check would be mailed. No check has been received and the listed phone number goes to voicemail when I call.Desired Settlement: Check for the refund immediately.

Review: Numerous attempts to resolve via phone were made. Issue with quality of masonry cap installation and sealer does not work. Top Notch is not honering their warranty. Complaint was logged prior to 1 year of the repair.Desired Settlement: Come out and redo the job.

Sincerely,

Review: Did not perform any work as detailed. Promises to start did not happen. Demand return of $1,000.00 deposit.

On or about June 5, 2013 [redacted] and [redacted] of Top Notch had come out to my home to examine my chimney for cement/pointing work. They had called indicating they do this work. Result was that I needed a chimney liner installed. As their truck indicated, they advertised: Roofing, Siding, Windows and Chimneys. They confirmed they do this work personally. Asked for a quote for roof work, deck siding. Other issues needed attention as well.

Signed an agreement on June 25, 2013 for chimney and roof work in the amount of $17,000 applying a cash deposit in the amount of $1,000 towards total amount.

Many calls, messages, text messages commencing on July 3, 2013 on status. Promises to start were delayed over and over. On July 23, 2013 it was apparent that there was no true start date. Eric of Top Notch said that the promised dumpster of July 23 will be a dump truck. Nothing showed up indicating action as promised.

July 26, 2013 what is status? Requested return of funds after no dumpster, no calls as requested, and no action.

Reminded that I am on a deadline to complete and delay is costing real money. Gave a chance to reorganize their plan. No response.

Left hourly messages on all their telephone lines that they had until noon August 6, 2013 to get back with their "plan" or other action will be taken.

As no contact was made, formal refund of the $1,000 deposit on agreement of June 23, 2013 was demanded.

Desired Settlement: Return of $1,000.00 deposit.

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: On October 23, 2014 Top Notch Construction came out to my home to repair my chimney and cap off my chimney so animals could not enter my home through the chimney. On April 2, 2014 the chimney cap fall off the chimney. I called Top Notch on the second of April and was told someone would came out and fix it. Three week later no one came out. So I called back and was told they thought someone came out. Then I received a called saying someone was coming on Tuesday then Wednesday then Thursday and one came. Then the forty feet ladder was broke so they could not come out on May 2, 2014. It is now May 8, 2014 Please help before my Attic is filled with squirrels and Raccoons. I was told the product had a lifetime warranty. Seven months is not lifetime and it is not good practice to tell clients you are coming out when you are not,Desired Settlement: It they are not going to fix it; I will find someone and I want them to pay for it. I paid Top Notch Two Thousand and One Hundred Dollars for my repairs which should last more than seven months.

Review: Top Notch has proved to be an unreliable company lacking punctuality and quality work.We found Top Notch through [redacted] where my wife purchased a coupon for chimney cleaning. On our first appointment they arrived later than scheduled but gave a quote to install a liner in our fireplace chimney stating they could do the cleaning on our other flue when they came back. The liner was installed early December with a warranty on the install. Again it was late so the chimney sweep which we pre-paid for was not done and deferred. On 2-22-14 I went up to inspect the chimney as I had been having draft problems. The liner had fallen into the chimney and was not secured at all. I called the company 2-25. Repairs were scheduled 3-4 10AM to 1PM but they rescheduled that DAY at 945 AM after I had already arranged to be home. On 3-6 they were scheduled for the same 10AM to 1PM time block and simply didn't show. I called that afternoon and they stated they would call me Monday 3-10 to reschedule. I have yet to hear from this company. They have proved unreliable in both punctuality and workmanship. At this point I do not want them working at my residence in any capacity.Desired Settlement: Top notch has proved unreliable in both punctuality and workmanship. I do not want them working at my residence as I cannot trust their work. I have already made myself available at times of their specification with no resolution. [redacted] has refunded our coupon for the sweep. I am seeking a refund of the $400 install cost to cover the cost of a new liner as they cut my liner too short to be secured to the top plate without over stretching it.

Really considers homeowner's needs and very responsive. Would defiantly recommend to a friend and hire again.
