CUSTMOER SERVICE ISSUES/CONTRACT ISSUES- My husband and I signed a contact and paid $1050. half the price to remove/install a deck and repair some areas of cedar siding on our home. The total price was $2100. *** from Top Notch Dream Builders came out to our home to pick of the check and contact and told me the job would take 2 days and he would start the job the same day he picked up the materials. 02/29-*** came out to look at deck and siding. 03/02-Contract signed and $1050 check given to him. -FYI I wrote the check out to the business, he requested it be written out to him said he had to get another company card, the chip was broken. 03/07-took down the old deck, but never removed it. It's still in my backyard. 03/06-He started on the deck. 03/09-He's still working on the deck 03/12-The deck is finish -per ***. When can I pick up the check. When I walked into my back yard I could not believe what I was looking at. The deck looked nothing like what we wanted. It wasn't stable or safe to be walked on. The siding wasn't done. He never cleaned under the old before he installed the new deck, the deck is setting on leave, rocks and whatever else that was covered in leave(He told husband he doesn't clean or rake. My husband told him he should have told him he would have cleaned it up) . When you walk up the stairs they shake and wobble. The deck should have 2 handrails that go from top to bottom, it has a half a rail and he just nailed it in the one of the boards on the deck. SO IF SOMEONE LEANS UP AGAINST IT, IT WILL FALL OFF AND THEY WILL MORE THEN LIKELY BREAK A BONE OR SOMETHING WORSE. I sent him a text message back saying it wasn't what I expected and you would need to talk to my husband. He sent a couple more text messages. I told him it looked horrible. He then sent me the following messages threatening to come to my home: -Seriously what a joke I'll be there shortly -I'll hook my truck to it and *** it down ok -And like I said I swear on my children I will take that deck with me In my many text to him I told I was not going to pay him for unfinished work. Then he accused me of never going to pay him. Who in there right mind would pay a company for unfinished work let alone work that didn't look like a professional did it and it's not a safe deck. Now we have to pay another company to come out, take it down because no one will fix it. It has to be removed and a new deck has to be installed. We are starting over from nothing. New company, new wood, new deck.

I would like to have my $1050. back. I also suggest that Top Notch Dream Builders not be in the business of installing decks. I really wouldn't want to happen to anyone else.
