I hired *** and *** through *** (name of their business at the time). I hired them for law care at 2 properties in ***, AL... mowing, edging, weed earring and blowing front, back and side yards every 2 weeks from March-Nov (because lawn is dormant in winter). A few months after hiring them *** and *** split. *** started running the business on his own and renamed it Top Notch Lawncare.
I believed *** was doing a good job until my property manager and tenants brought it to my attention that he had not been doing the back yards. He had only been doing the fronts and sides (up to a certain point) and yet has been billing for the whole job. My PM sent me pics of what was being missed altogether... there was buildup of pine needles and leaves and branches/limbs/sticks and overgrowth in back yards that hadn't been done in months. I called *** and asked him to go back out and completely clean out the back yards... mow, mulch, pick up, cut back... whatever needed to be done to clean up the yards because they had been neglected. He said he would and would charge an extra $65 for cutting back all the bushes, hedges, trees along with the normal price of lawn care (again). I sent him pictures to be sure he would do a thorough job. My PM went back out after he said he did the job thoroughly... the back yards were not completed again. He did the fronts but again went around sticks, limbs leaves etc and billed me (again). At that point he was asked to go back out and that payment would occur only after all services were rendered and job was once again checked by my PM. I again received pictures of what had not been done in back yards. When I spoke to him I asked him specifically did he have a commercial mower, he responded yes but did not want to go over roots (understandable to me), so I then asked why he couldn't blow or pickup those areas and he responded that entailed more work than he was getting paid for. Billing Adjustment He stated his mower cannot mulch the pine needles and he doesn't have a bagging system. He's been harassing me, asking for payment stating he would go to small claims if he did not get paid. I am requesting a refund for the back yards, Prorated, since the fronts were done. The Last payment I made was $165. To date he has been getting paid $100 every 2 weeks for the lawn care contract.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Brandon did NOT do the whole yard as contracted. He claims he was doing the backyards as well but I have pictures to prove that that was not being done. He did not blow anything from under the trees or in the very back of the yard and in select areas. That resulted in accumulation of leaves which in turn rotted out bottom boards on the townhomes. Like I said, he was billing for the whole job and not actually doing the whole job he was hired for. *** and I agreed on a price every 2 weeks for mowing, blowing, edging and weed eating. The job only started to be neglected in rear of yard and on either side when *** left. Only after that did I receive complaints and pictures. If he didn't want to drive 30 mins each way then he should have stated so, I would have found someone else to do the job. There is no excuse for saying you did the job thoroughly, billing for a completed job and then not correcting the problem. After 2 times of asking him to correct the issue and still getting complaints and pics (which I can provide), getting harassed to pay up etc. it was time to cut ties.
