Hendricks Investigation Services, LLC Huntington Reserve Drive Parma, Ohio Cell (440) 223-Fax (440) 888-March 18, Revdex.com Euclid Avenue 41h Floor [redacted] , Ohio 44115-Re: Complaint ID [redacted] Dear Better Business Bureau: I wish I could say I was surprised by the complaint filed by ***, but I was notI firmly believe anyone who worked with [redacted] or her case, would not be able to provide adequate service for herI have been a private investigator for yearsThis is the first complaint I have ever hadSo, let me respond to each item where [redacted] feels I have failed herThe issue is not that I have not done a lot of work on this caseThe real issue is that my results, have not independently verified ***'s belief that she is the target of a conspiracy of stalkersWhenever I questioned [redacted] about a particular subject, she felt offended, and felt that I was not being supportive, and as such not doing my jobMy job was not to automatically agree with whatever [redacted] said or believed, but rather to independently determine what was really going on, and if her physical well-being was at riskFirst, she feels I downplayed anything she brought up and treated her as if she worked for me — rather than me working for herAs a private investigator, I need information from my client in order for me to do the job I was hired to doI need to understand my client's specific problem, and how it became a problemTo achieve this, I have to ask my client questionsIn ***'s case, my asking her questions, about the problem she hired me to resolve, became a problem in and of itselfSo, let me provide some background into ***'s initial problem [redacted] feels she is being stalkedNot just by one person, but by hundreds of peopleThe originators of her stalking problem are two police officers, who live in her communityThese officers live near ***, and according to ***, at least one officer watches her as she takes her nightly fitness walksFrom what I gathered from ***, the officers found her attractive, and wanted to go out with herShd went out with one of the officers and spurned the second officer's advances [redacted] spurned his advances and this angered himAfter he was spurned, according to ***, he began to harass herShortly after this interaction, as [redacted] was going for one of her evening fitness walks, a pitruck pulled out of a local park, and physically struck herThis happened on two occasionsThe hit [redacted] received from the truck did not injure ***, but it was traumaticAlthough there are no independent witnesses to these incidents, I believed [redacted] that these incidents took placeI have told [redacted] as much [redacted] did not get the license plate of the truck either time it hit her, which is oddNor, could [redacted] give a good description of the pick-upAfter the truck hit ***, it drove away [redacted] said the truck was driven by a woman, who looked like the harassing police officer's wifeAs she continued her walks, she saw a pickup truck parked in the police officer's driveway [redacted] thought it looked similar to the pitruck that hit herStill, she never wrote down the license plate numberAfter this incident, [redacted] started to feel people were following herShe felt the police officer hired a professional investigator to follow her, and watch her every movementShe also felt the police officer brought in people from all over northern Ohio, to follow her to work, follow her home, and follow her on her errandsShe even felt people were following her when she had to drive to Columbus [redacted] told me people followed to work every morning, parked outside of her building, sat in their cars, and just watched her car, and her officeVehicles drove by her office, constantly throughout the dayThey would slow down, or stop, by her window, and look into her office to see what she was doingMany of these vehicles that drove past her office were black or white SUVs [redacted] divided the "stalkers" into two categoriesShe felt the police officer had hired a professional private investigator or investigation company to harass herThese were called "pros." Then, there were the people who were not professionals, and [redacted] called this group of people "posse." I met with [redacted] on January 2, She hired me to find out who these people were that were following and harassing herI explained to ***, I could begin working on her case immediatelyHowever, I told her I was having major back surgery on January 8, The recovery time from the back surgery would be eight to twelve weeksOnce the recovery was complete, I could start working on her case again [redacted] saw no problem with that time table or scenarioAfter the January 8, surgery, I had a follvisit with my surgeon on February 22, He told me I could start physical therapy and workHe told me to still take it easy, and limit my driving for a few more weeksEight weeks from the date of my surgery was March 4, Twelve weeks from the date of my surgery will be April 1, Again, [redacted] knew of this time table and felt I would better be able to observe what was going on when the weather was nicerDuring this meeting we discussed the "posse." I tried to get [redacted] to explain how she knew which cars were following her and were part of the posseShe said a lot of the cars had "paper tags," which I interpreted to mean temporary tagsThe cars were newer SUVs or newer sedansMany of the cars had license plate holders from out-of-the-countyA lot of posse vehicles were black or white SUVsSome cars were [redacted] , others were just SUVs, and there were a lot of [redacted] following herSome of the vehicles had things hanging from the mirrorShe felt a lot of new SUVs were following her all the way to her houseShe was certain people in her community were involvedShe saw new SUVs which she estimated cost $- $45,000, with temporary tags, all over her communityShe was certain these were posse vehiclesHer rationale for this belief was the houses in her community only cost $- $70,000, so how could these people af [redacted] expensive SUVs? I explained to her that car dealers were running huge sales, especially on lease vehiclesIt is not difficult to understand that people leasing new cars, at low interest rates, and low payments [redacted] said that was a possible explanationHowever, from her tone and comments, I knew this explanation was not what she wanted to hearMy explanation for newer cars being on the road, especially in her immediate neighborhood, did not fit in with the stalking scenario she had createdSometimes, posse vehicles would be in front of [redacted] on I- Sometimes, they would be to the side of her car, or to the rear of her carSometimes the drivers of the posse vehicles would make gestures at ***The drivers would put their index and little fingers by their ears to imitate someone talking on the phoneOn one occasion, [redacted] said she knew a posse vehicle was videoing her as she drove on 1-I asked how she knew thisShe told me that she could the posse vehicle's video screen, and she recognized her car on the video screenThe video screen was inside of a vehicle that was at least two or three car lengths front of her, and which was moving at least mph [redacted] said the posse vehicles would box her in, and she could not pass them on Route as she went to work, and as she came home from workThe posse vehicles would follow her to doctor appointments, to her nail salon, to her hair dresser, and to the storeDuring our January 2, meeting, I tried to explain to [redacted] the cost involved in hiring an investigator and "posse" to follow her would be prohibitiveA private investigator would charge $- $per hourEven if the police officer were a friend, an investigator would still charge at least $per hourIf "posse" drivers were hired at minimum wage, with the number of drivers following her, and the amount of time spent following her, the cost would run into thousands of dollarsI explained, that for the amount of time she felt she was being followed, the police officer would have had to have paid out tens of thousands of dollars to "posse" driversI also told her that what was being done to her was unethical, and I could not imagine a professional, licensed private investigator doing something like this [redacted] was certain there was a pro involved, as well as "posse." I believe it was on January 3, 2016, [redacted] sent me an emailThe email contained a list of license plates [redacted] told me these plates were on some of the cars that followed herAs I reviewed the list I found just a few of the plates were duplicatesI began work on ***'s case om January 4, I arrived at her office at 6:A.MI parked diagonally across the street from her officeI did not tell [redacted] I was going to her office on this morningI wanted to observe what was transpiring without input from ***'s office building is located on a corner where there is a four way stopThe office is not in downtown [redacted] , but east of downtown, in a less busy areaThere are several active businesses near ***'s buildingWhen I arrived, at 6:A.Mthere were several cars already parked on the street, directly across from ***'s officeI photographed these cars and looked inside themNo one was inside of these carsOn January 4, 2016, [redacted] arrived at work between 7:— 7:A.MI sent her a text message asking if she arrived at work, and if anyone followed her [redacted] told me several cars followed her that morningShe said some of these cars were parked outside of her building, and one of the cars was parked in an empty lot diagonally across from her buildingI told [redacted] the car in the empty lot was me, and I had not followed her to workI also told her the cars that she felt had followed her to work were already parked there at 6:A.M., long before she arrived at workShe seemed surprised at that informationAgain, it did not fit in with her belief system as it pertained to her being stalkedOn January 4, 2016, after left ***'s place of employment, I drove to where she livedI wanted to get a feel for the area, and see where she took her daily fitness walks [redacted] had mentioned she felt she was being videoed while she was in her houseShe thought cameras were mounted facing her windows, and the stalkers could see inside her house***'s house is on a corner, so I drove around the houseI did not see any cameras: anywhereI drove up and down the streets in her neighborhoodI saw dozens of newer SUVs with temporary tagsOn January 4, 2016, when I returned to my office I began to trace the license plates [redacted] had given meI used several different sources to trace the platesI found no common thread linking all of the vehicles or ownersThe vehicles were registered to people who lived as far away as [redacted] County and [redacted] CountyI did not find any vehicles owned by private investigation companies or security companiesI told [redacted] thisI also told [redacted] that I found it difficult to believe, someone would drive from [redacted] to [redacted] County just to harass someone they did not know, as they drove to workAgain, this information did not support C-Us belief system regarding "posse" and her being stalkedOn January 5, 2016, I arrived at C-Us place of employment at 5:A.MThe same cars which were parked across from her building were parked there on this morningNo one was in the carsWhile in the area, I drove to the end of the street where [redacted] worksAt the end of the street is the [redacted] Mounted Police headquartersI saw several black or white SUVs parked in the parking lotAs it turned out, the SENs that drove past ***'s office were police vehiclesWhen I told this to ***, she did not feel the [redacted] Police drove by her building as part of their daily routineShe now felt the [redacted] Police were involved in the stalking and harassment conspiracy against herI remained in the area until 9:A.MI saw cars many cars drive by ***'s office and slow down or stopThey were stopping for the stop signs which are at the corners of the intersectionThese cars did nothing suspiciousOn January 6, 2016, I arrived at ***'s place of employment at 5:A.MI wanted to see if any different cars arrived and parked in front of her buildingWhen I arrived two cars were parked across from her buildingThey were two of the same cars that had been parked there on the previous daysWhile there, three other cars arrivedThese cars were also there on previous daysThe drivers parked their cars and walked into area businessesI remained in the area until 9:A.MI then leftOn January 6, at about 4:P.MI arrived on the street where [redacted] goes for her fitness walksOn this evening, I was going to observe [redacted] as she went on her fitness walkI sat in the driveway of the local park for a while, and then I drove up and down the street, observing ***I did not see anything unusual going onNo one harassed ***, and no one came up to speak with herAround 6:or 6:P.M., I -spoke with ***She was still walkingShe mentioned that some of the cars that drove on the street while she was walking were "posse" carsI asked her how she was able to make that determination, especially since it was dark outsideShe said the street is normally quiet, with no trafficIf a car drove down the street at this time of the evening, it was because the driver was watching ***I spoke with [redacted] for several minutesWhen she finished her walk, I left the areaOn January 7, 2016, I arrived at ***'s place of employment at 5:A.MI observed that the same cars were parked across from her office, as had been there on previous morningsOnce again, I looked into the carsNo one was in the carsI did not inform [redacted] I was going to be there on this morningI wanted to see if anything was going on without input from ***I did not park in the same spotInstead, I drove around to see if anyone was in a vehicle watching ***'s buildingNo one was in a vehicle watching her buildingI remained in the area until 9:A.MI did not observe any suspicious activity, nor did I see anyone watching ***'s officeOn January 7, 2016, at 4:P.M., I went to the street where [redacted] takes her fitness walksI did not park in the local park, but instead I just drove around the neighborhoodAt 5:P.MI saw [redacted] walkingAs I drove up and down the street, I did not see anything suspiciousI did not see anyone interact with ***On January 8, I had spine surgeryI remained in the hospital until January 11, On January 19, I spoke with ***She called to give me an update and to inquire about my recoveryI again told her the recovery time was eight to twelve weeksI had an appointment scheduled with my surgeon for February 22, Until that time, I was not able to drive [redacted] was fine with that informationFrom January thru February 24, I kept in touch with [redacted] via text messageI spoke with her on February and told her it would be a bit longer before I could drive long distancesAgain, she said she understood, and provided updates as to what was going on with the "posse." [redacted] told me she had photos of posse vehiclesShe had taken these photos with her cell phone while she was drivingShe was supposed to email these photos to meShe never emailed the photosShe also told me of an interne game she playedThe game is called Words with FriendsShe felt at least one of the police officers, or posse, were leaving her ominous messages in the gameFrom my notes, [redacted] said one of the word connections was bleeding, blood, woodWithin a short period of time, perhaps the next day, [redacted] found a piece of wood that was on the sidewalk where she does her fitness walksShe felt the wood was intentionally placed thereI asked her how I could join the game and see what was going on in the gameShe never gave me instructions on how to join the gameShe sent me photos of a man standing outside a [redacted] storeShe felt the man was part of the "posse." I asked her why she felt thatShe said he was dressed nicely, she had just been in the [redacted] store and he was not there when she went into the [redacted] storeHe looked at her, and she felt that his standing there was suspiciousI suggested that she might not have noticed him as he walked up to the storeShe said that was a possibility, but she felt it was unlikelyShe was certain he was "posse." Another incident [redacted] related tome was when she went into [redacted] She said a posse member followed her into [redacted] with his daughterThe man and his daughter went to the [redacted] Vision CenterAs [redacted] walked into [redacted] the man kept looking at herI asked [redacted] if the man did an aping else, anything threatening [redacted] said noI hypothesized the man might have gracre-L attractive and was just looking at her for that reason [redacted] seemed baffled at that suggestion [redacted] also sent me photos of some of the "posse" vehicles, she had taken while drivingIn a previous conversation [redacted] told me she is an aggressive driverShe also said she gets on her cell phone as soon as she gets into her carSo, I proposed a scenario for her that might explain some of the things she was experiencingShe drives aggressively during rush hour, which would indicate she cuts off other, slower driversIf she cannot get around other cars, she feels boxed in, and those cars then become "posse" carsShe is on her phone, driving aggressively, during rush hourOther drivers get ***et at aggressive drivers, who are on their cell phonesThese other drivers frequently make gestures at the aggressive driverI tried to explain to [redacted] that other drivers making gestures at her may have nothing to do with "posse." I also suggested that "posse" drivers might not be boxing her in, but her getting boxed in may just be the result of her inability to get around slower driers during rush hour [redacted] did not really want to consider any other explanation than she was being stalked by "posse." On February 24, 2016, [redacted] said a woman followed her into the nail salon she frequents [redacted] made it sound like the nail specialist could confirm this other woman came into the nail salon, and asked the nail specialist if [redacted] came into the salonThe third party allegedly asked for [redacted] by nameI asked [redacted] for the name of the salon and her nail specialist, who was asked about ***I said I wanted to interview this woman [redacted] was very non-committal about getting me this informationShe said the woman was Korean-and might not want to-talk to me [redacted] would ask the woman if I could speak with her, and then [redacted] was supposed to get back to meShe never got back to meI cannot interview someone, if I do not know who to interviewTo my knowledge, other than the nail specialist, there are no other witnesses to interview on this caseThe only other potential witness is ***'s mother, who was with her on a trip to ColumbusFrom speaking with ***'s mother, [redacted] convinced her mother "posse" vehicles were everywhere as she drove to ColumbusDuring the course of my investigation, I have looked at photos sent to me by ***, and I viewed the area around ***'s house myselfThere are no cameras and no one is videoing her or photographing herI have asked for the dates of police reports [redacted] made to her local police department [redacted] has not given me any datesWhen checked with her local police department, the records room could not find any police reports filed by ***To date, I have spent a minimum of hours working on ***'s caseThis does not include the phone conversations I have had with ***I have driven miles on this caseFinally, I have run license plate traces on vehicles on this caseI successfully traced plates [redacted] paid me $3,Let me break down the expensesMy hourly rate is $$x equals, $3,I have driven miles working on this caseI charge per milemiles x miequals $Each successful license plate trace costs $8.50, and each unsuccessful license plate trace costs $So, successful license plate traces x $equals $The unsuccessful license plate traces at $per trace costs an additional $In total, the cost of license plate traces was $In total, I have put $4,worth of work, mileage, and license plate trace expenses into this caseI have earned the money she paid me, and she is not entitled to a refundAgain, I find it plausible that someone did hit [redacted] with a pitruck on two occasionsHowever, I have seen no indication anyone is following [redacted] to her place of employmenthave seen no indication anyone is watching [redacted] while she works at her officeI have seen no indication anyone is following ***, or watching her while she takes her fitness walksI have seen no indication anyone is making video recordings of ***Finally, I have seen no indication anyone is trying to harm ***This is not what [redacted] wants to hearShe wanted confirmation that she was, and is, being stalked, that her life is in danger, and that she is not just being paranoidI could not provide confirmation that [redacted] is being stalked, nor could I provide any confirmation that her life and physical well-being are at riskI could not provide that confirmation, because I have found no empirical evidence to support that conclusionThis is not what [redacted] wanted to hearWhen I first met with her, she was certain I would be able to verify her assertions that she is being stalked and harassedI have done everything [redacted] asked me to doHowever, since I was unable to confirm her belief system, it is not surprising she feels I have slighted her, and not done the job she hired me to doIn reality, in the real world, I have treated [redacted] in a courteous, professional mannerDuring the years I have been in business, I have never been rude to any clients, and I was not rude to ***I always do an excellent job for my clientsUnfortunately, I was not able to successfully complete the job for ***This job is not able to be completedEven though I was able to disprove many of the claims [redacted] made prior to the onset of my investigation, she preferred to ignore the evidence, and just continue on with her belief system, and victimization mentalityFor example, [redacted] feels vehicles parked outside of her building are there to watch her while she is at workThat simply is not trueThe vehicles parked outside of her building are there because the vehicle owners work in the same area as ***But, when told of this, [redacted] did not want to believe what I had observedFor some reason, [redacted] wants to continue believing she is being victimized while she is workingI can only report, prove or disprove, what I have observed in the real world, not in a fantasy worldI do not create information, or sets of facts, just so that my client feels betterThat would be unethicalAs mentioned previously, that is where the real problem with [redacted] lies [redacted] wants someone to substantiate her claims of a "posse" following her everywhere she goesThe facts do not substantiate those claimsAfter she was struck by the pitruck, [redacted] became paranoidShe believes that hundreds of people are part of a conspiracy to force her to move out-of-town, or to physically injure herThere is simply no evidence to support this belief system, allegations, and victimization attitudeIt is my belief, much of what [redacted] is experiencing is due to her own behavior patterns, especially when it comes to driving on interstates, and talking on her cell phoneBut, unfortunately, that is not what she wants to hearSincerely, Edward H [redacted] , PhDPresident, Hendricks Investigation Services, LLC
