Review: November 2015 I paid $13,400 to have a tin roof put on my home from Top Notch Roofing Services owned by William R. L[redacted]. Half of it blew off April 2, 2016...four and a half months later. I have left messages with no return call. I went to the address on his business card which is 8110 Frye Rd, Alexandria, VA 22309 and the family there has never heard of him. His web site also has the 9400 Secca Dr., Fredericksburg, VA 22407 listed as "headquarters." I called DPOR and they do not have him listed as having any licenses. He has two phone numbers listed on our Estimate paper and one of them belongs to a little old lady who said she has had that number for over a year and a half and she doesn't know that guy but keeps getting phone calls for him. I see he has 2 complaints with Revdex.com already both from Feb. 2016. I believe this to be fraud.Desired Settlement: Refund or complete replacement.

Review: Top Notch did roof repair work for us back in June, replacing a pipe collar on our roof that they said was causing a leak into our upstairs bath. They were timely & reasonably priced. I was given assurance by the company that if the leak returned - which they guaranteed it wouldn't because they were sure of the issue - that they would come back out. Well, the leak has returned and since November, I have tried multiple times (5+ times on phone, 5 emails) to reach them, all to no avail. The pipe collar itself is supposed to have a 5-year warranty on it and during the estimate we received the other day from another company, they said that the collar was installed improperly & that it is causing the leak yet again.Desired Settlement: Since the leak situation was not fixed & the collar that they installed was either faulty or not correctly installed, I am looking for a refund of the money we provided to them for their services.

Review: Top notch repaired and painted my metal roof a little over 1 year ago. Last spring we started to get leaks in the same areas that were there before. Top notch gave us a 5 year warranty. I started calling 1 year ago, heard back from them once, told them my problem, and have never heard back from them since then. I call almost once a month. The leaks seem to be getting worse and the two ceilings that were repaired after their work was done are bad again.Desired Settlement: Would like them to repair the roof again and pay for the ceiling repairs that will need to be repaired again. Or refund my 5,000 dollars plus repair cost

Review: In June 2014, I accepted several bids to repair my sunroom roofing system. It had been leaking around the two skylights. One of the skylights had significant leaking, while the other was an occasional drip. I stated I intended to demolish the sunroom in about 5yrs. The [redacted] suggested utilizing a roll-on (painted) product he stated was "premium Allumination" which would essentially encapsulate the existing roof membrane.Upon determination I would utilize Top Notch Roofing Services for this project, I sent the following:"...It is understood protection will be made to ensure no patching materials will extend beyond the roof edge, unless necessary to adequately install the product. Additionally, it is understood the roof coating will be applied to the entirety of the sunroom roof surface IAW manufacturer's specifications, with a 2-year workmanship warranty. Please provide the product data (manufacturer, product name/number, etc.) so I may contact them should there be any product defects after the Top Notch Roofing workmanship warranty expires."The response was "That is correct, the product we use for coating the roof is called premium Alumination, made by mule hide. The product we use for the repairs beforehand is elastic roofing sealant made by[redacted]"The product was installed July 10, and on July 11 following a rainstorm, there were no leaks...and sent an email to this effect. I also requested clarity on the installed product, including a Mule Hide brochure. He stated "We only use fibrated alumination, it contains fiberglass that penetrates all crevices."On July 14th, I contacted Top Notch Roofing to let them know both skylights were leaking, with one of the skylights leaking more than before the "repair". The [redacted] called and stated they would apply the same material OVER the skylights to encapsulate them. I agreed, as I was desperate to resolve. The leaking continued. Subsequent replied emails were sent Aug.8 & 12th, and Sept. 4th. without any response.Desired Settlement: Post-installation research: product installed (Mule Hide 401 Premium Fibrated Aluminum Roof Coating) PDS states "DO NOT USE with PVC, TPO, EPDM or other single-ply membranes" which my sunroom has. This information is not stated in the brochure I sent Top Notch Roofing for clarity, only in the Product Data Sheet. With this install, my entire roof membrane is now defective. [redacted]
