A Top Notch Tree Service just completed trimming three very large trees and cut down a tree in my yard. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up the yard! They even used a power blower to remove the saw dust from around the pool area that had blown on it from across the yard where the trees were being cut.

Very professional, good pricing, very courteous and friendly! I highly recommend them!

Review: Calvin Smith of Top Notch Tree Service was suppose to trim and top a tree. He never completed his work. I was in SC and sent him a check for $400. He said that if the work was not satisfactory when I got home in April 2015 he would make it right. I have called him several times and he promised he would come but never showed up. I called him again in Oct. 2015 and he promised he would come but never did. When I would call he would not answer or told me to hold and never came back on line. Times called: 11-24-14, 11,29-14, 12-4-14, 12-8-14, September and October 2015.Desired Settlement: I am asking for $200 refund. I do not want him on my property because he is a dishonest person. He has lied too many times to me. I do not trust him.

Review: They damaged the gutter and a window they said they would repair it and I got an estimate for the repairs ($395.00) and now he will not call me back or pay for the repair. He said he drop off the money several times but never did.

Review: Top Notch Tree Service was hired to cut down 5 trees in our yard. As part of the agreement, they were to remove the roots from the trees and trim up another tree that we were keeping. We paid them in full, but after further examining the yard with a landscaper, we determined they did not remove any roots. The tree that needed to be trimmed did not have leaves on it at the time, and now that it does, we can tell it was not thinned out as promised. After many phone calls, we have had no response from them to come back and finish the work.Desired Settlement: We would like them to finish what they were paid to do.

Review: I hired [redacted] of A Top Notch Tree Service in February 2013 to clean up significant post-Sandy tree damage in my yard. We verbally agreed on scope of work & fee and he was able to start the working the following day on the job expected to take several days. He was to provide me the written contract & proof of insurance at start of the job. When I came home from work the following day, he was indeed working but did not have the contract or proof of insurance with him and never provided it to me. At the end on that day, he demanded full payment of $3000 and promised to come back no later than that weekend to complete the work of grinding stumps, splitting large wood sections and clean up of debris. He left his hydraulic log splitter behind on my property & assured me would be back. I paid him $3000 cash. He never returned. I called him several times a week of the course of 5 months. He still never returned. It was not until almost 6 months later when I notified him that I was moving out my house & he had 10 days to come back & complete the job, clean up & remove the equipment. [redacted] returned that day intoxicated & verbally abusive and trespassed on my property and removed the equipment STILL refusing to complete the job. I also had to pay an additional amount to several other contractors in excess of $2000 to repair the damage to my lawn & sprinkler system he destroyed with his equipment & poor service.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $1000 for the work that was never completed by this company as agreed as well as payment for the damage they caused to my property (Sprinkler system $600 and lawn damage $1400). Total settlement desired of $3000.

Review: We hired Top Notch Tree Services at the end of December 2014. Our contract was for the removal of 4 trees, grinding of 5 stumps and removal of all debris (tree branches, logs, etc.). The company removed all 4 trees and grinded 4 of the 5 stumps. The last stump they cut down low enough for us almost not to see it but it should have been grinded down to nothing. The company left their trucks in front of my house for between 1-2 weeks after the trees were cut down and left most of the large tree pieces on my front lawn. We called the company to please remove the trucks from in front of our house (no work was being done on our block) and to remove the tree pieces from the property. They removed the trucks but NEVER the trees. Later we noticed that the last stump was not grinded down. Payment in full was made after the trees were cut down.We have been waiting since January 2015 to have the logs picked up and last stump grinded. It is now April 2015. In the meantime we have called the company several times about the stump being grinded and the tree logs removed and to no avail. We finally heard from the owner last week. He promised to complete the job between March27-29. Nothing. Called him again and he promised to complete the job on March 30 or 31. Nothing.He has given us the run around now for months and we've heard that this is his M-O. Don't hire this particular Top Notch Company. He takes your money and runs without completing the job. He has done the same thing to my neighbor who hired him at the same time.Desired Settlement: We would like at least half of the $2100 we paid him due to not completing the contracted work, OR the stump grinded and the trees removed off of the property.
