Review: Lost and damaged several items. Denied any responsiblity and refused to replace or repair any item.They said I did not notify them in a timely manner which is an untruth.Dropped and broke a 90" (1 inch thick)round glass table top and damaged the porch where it was dropped. They picked up the large pieces of broken glass but left pieces that were four plus inches in the front yard. I advised them that it took 6 men with special suction cups to deliver it. They ignored my advice and tried to move it with 3 men and no special equipment.The movers complained to me that they were always understaffed.Desired Settlement: I have asked for a minium payment of $700.00. That does not even begin to cover the damaged or lost items.

While we strive to provide an excellent customer experience, there are rare instances where an item may get damaged or even more infrequently misplaced. We picked up selected items from the house and delivered them directly to her new home. She and her husband monitored us on both ends. She informed us about 1 particular item right away that was unaccounted for. We were never able to confirm we transported it; however, we discounted the invoice to compensate her for the item. The Client signed the paperwork without exceptions.

Response:

The Client directed us to dispose of the glass table. We obtained their permission to break the table top and throw away the remnants. We asked to do this task the following day asit was going to be late. She needed it done that day, so we went and completed the task.

While we took precautions to ensure all the glass pieces were captured and protected the

surrounding area, there were some that escaped. Since it was dark when we finished

cleaning up, we did not see the small pieces that had fallen. When we were notified we had

not gotten it all, we went back and cleaned up the remaining pieces.

The client notified us of some chips in the steps. We went back and addressed that issue as

well.

3. The personnel complained to me that they were always understaffed.

We apologize for the client hearing the employee’s gripes. This project was very fluid in

scope. We tried our best to be flexible and staff accordingly to accommodate the changing

situations. There were several factors that contributed to the complexity of the job and the

frustrations of the client and staff.

I am rejecting Top Shelf Delivery’s response to the Revdex.com, ref # [redacted].

The move took several days so what was left in the truck at the end of the day was in their possession.

There was no discount for lost items. We received a $100.00 discount for being a “good customer”. The lost and damaged items far exceeded $100.00.

We did not direct them to break our 90 inch, 1 inch thick round glass table top on our property, especially on the front porch, they were to move it and destroy it a later date.

As for the chips in the front porch steps, they were not “addressed” and in fact the new owner repaired them. Top Shelf Delivery did not have enough manpower and equipment to handle such a heavy piece of glass. Many large pieces (3”-4”) were left for three to four days after the event. My gardener was the person who cleaned up the glass.

The move would not have been frustrating if the company had proper staff and equipment. On one day of the move a substitute mover arrived after a fall from his skateboard with an injured hand and shoulder.
