I have used Top View Roofing twice and both times I was extremely impressed with their professionalism, curtsy, and knowledge of the industry. There workmanship is excellent and I would definitely use them again.

I was first introduced to Top View Roofing several years ago when they were referred to
me by a client of mine who had previously used them. I had several roofs completely replaced several years ago due to hail damage and age, and I had them do another one recently. Each home they've roofed for me was reasonably priced, begun and finished in the time frame originally promised, and each job was cleaned up diligently afterwards.

Darby, the owner, is one of the most conscientious, helpful and professional people you will ever meet. He has always gone above and beyond to get the job done well, and to follow through with every aspect that we agreed upon. I decided to write this review because I have been so pleased their workmanship and service, and because of this I think others need to know who they can trust!

It was very helpful to us of my family that our roof has been fixed. Top View Roofing fixed our damage roof. Thank you again Top View Roofing specially to Darby Kyle I recommend you and your team, very much appreciated.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2014/10/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I signed the contract 11/28/2013 and the job was still not completed in January 2014. This is not a timely manner. This reply was not in a timely manner per the Revdex.com timeline. I never ask for this company to replace Soft under the house which I have no idea what this is. They actually brought 2 of their own employees to look at the job they never finished and their employees agreed with me. Fortunately I have found 2 other companies that agree that the job was not completed and have given me estimates on the incomplete job and the damages the incomplete job has caused to my home. They will be out tomorrow to complete and fix all damages the Top View has caused. Guess who's getting paid? I paid up front $5000 and that's what I got a $5000 job. I wish I could post my pictures to this website.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/03/11) */
First, the salesperson that made the promises should not have done so without the owners approval. There was a little over $5,000 in upgrades done in the home that cost them nothing. The fence was repaired without any issues. The light...

not being centered went back where the original light was placed. The cabinets were ordered within the insurance proceeds and the homeowner wanted to order cabinets that were $4,000 more than they were allowed. The paint was the wrong color in one room and was repainted as soon as the homeowner pointed it out. The counter tops were corrected as soon as they were inspected. The upgrades they wanted inside the home ate up their funds. The painter that was sleeping in their home was a sub contractor and we knew nothing about him being in the home after business hours. If the homeowner was accused of over reacting then it was because every little issue was handled with over reactions. The shingles were shipped out wrong and the homeowner was given the option of changing the new roof out for the right one and they decided to stay with the existing color. This is the first we are hearing about a piece of fascia board not being installed properly. The customer was very unreasonable throughout the entire process and just kept wanting more and more without being willing to pay any more. The job never went more than a week without work and that was due to lack of workers to perform the jobs needed. No one contacted this office about an invoice. I am sorry the homeowners are not happy. You can refer to your insurance scope for an itemized listing of what you were charged per item but keep in mind a lot of the interior work was done with upgrades. You also have to keep in mind that the insurance has a set price for paint but we had to pay extra for the different colors in every room.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/03/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
1. First, the salesperson that made the promises should not have done so without the owners approval.
RESPONSE... The salesperson is a representative of your company. They are an extension of Top View Roofing and speak on your company's behalf. The company should stand behind their word.
2.There was a little over $5,000 in upgrades done in the home that cost them nothing.
RESPONSE.. Product was bought and work started without communication of anything costing different than agreed to. If there is a price difference between the insurance scope and the work performed there should be s copy of this information somewhere and that difference be communicated to the homeowner before work is started.
3.The fence was repaired without any issues.
RESPONSE... the fence was not fixed to the condition it was prior to the damage. I reported my concerns to the Project manager and he assured me it would be fixed. IT WASNT FIXED.
4.The light not being centered went back where the original light was placed.
RESPONSE... the original ceiling had a 1' step down to the top of the cabinets. the light in its original position was mounted to the ceiling above the sink. The step down is now gone and the light is mounted to the wall above the sink "OFF CENTER".
5.The cabinets were ordered within the insurance proceeds and the homeowner wanted to order cabinets that were $4,000 more than they were allowed.
RESPONSE... A Top View Roofing project manager took us to home depot, told us EXACTLY which cabinet style and finish to choose from. We only chose the cabinets that were to be replaced. We then turned the quote from Home Depot over to the same project manager to have the cabinets ordered by Top View Roofing. the cabinets where ordered with items from the quote missing. there was never any communication of a shortage. the cabinets where installed and we ,the homeowner, had to find out by waking in after the fact and see missing cabinets.
6.The paint was the wrong color in one room and was repainted as soon as the homeowner pointed it out.
RESPONSE... this was pointed out in this report to highlight the pattern of repeated inability to function as a professional company. It should have been easy to follow simple requests and painted right the first time.
7.The counter tops were corrected as soon as they were inspected.
RESPONSE... the counter tops were never fixed and are still in the condition as they were when I complained the first time. Again poor craftsmanship.
8.The upgrades they wanted inside the home ate up their funds.
RESPONSE... Not once was there ever a discussion of the funds being used up. Everything that was supposed to be done was agreed upon in the beginning before work was ever started. Again the complete and utter lack of communication is comical.
9.The painter that was sleeping in their home was a sub contractor and we knew nothing about him being in the home after business hours.
RESPONSE... The painter was a sub contractor HIRED BY YOU AND REPRESENTED YOUR COMPANY. It was agreed that the house would be locked up by your project manager at dark when work stopped for the day. YOUR painter was found in MY house at 3am by my wife. How is the house secured with one of YOUR employees inside?
10.If the homeowner was accused of over reacting then it was because every little issue was handled with over reactions.
RESPONSE... It is not over reacting to expect a company to complete a job as agreed upon without finding YOUR employees sleeping and taking showers in MY house. Nor is it over reacting to expect work to be done right the first time.
11.The shingles were shipped out wrong and the homeowner was given the option of changing the new roof out for the right one and they decided to stay with the existing color.
RESPONSE... the shingles were installed on the new roof without our agreeing to it WRONG color. we were then told we would have to change the color of our siding and gutters.
12.This is the first we are hearing about a piece of fascia board not being installed properly.
RESPONSE...It was reported to the Project Manager on multiple occasions.
13.The customer was very unreasonable throughout the entire process and just kept wanting more and more without being willing to pay any more.
RESPONSE... It is not unreasonable to expect what was promised and agreed upon. I would have paid for more if I was wanting anything other than what was agreed to from the beginning.
14.The job never went more than a week without work and that was due to lack of workers to perform the jobs needed.
RESPONSE... There were multiple times that no work was done for at least 2 weeks and threatened it wouldn't start at all until we got more money.
15.No one contacted this office about an invoice.
RESPONSE... my wife called your office 3 times and spoke to the owner once. she was instructed to email the owner and he would send a copy. I emailed the owner twice and could not get a response from my email requests.
15.You can refer to your insurance scope for an itemized listing of what you were charged per item but keep in mind a lot of the interior work was done with upgrades.
RESPONSE... there were no unexpected upgrades performed on the house. If there were so called "upgrades". I should expect a copy of the differences between my insurance scope and the upgrade price you are referring to.
16.You also have to keep in mind that the insurance has a set price for paint but we had to pay extra for the different colors in every room.
RESPONSE... Paint is priced by the quantity of paint, not the color of paint. The insurance scope paid to have the rooms repainted. different colors don't cost extra.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2014/03/13) */
1. The person you keep referring to as the project manager is, in fact, just a salesman that asked to take over the job. Period. This person never communicated there was any issues.
2. The painter sleeping in your home got back in the home after it was secured for the night. Yes he represented this company and was fired immediately for these actions.
3. Paint IS set by quantity but WE have to pay extra for the changes when the crews have to change equipment to not mix the colors.
4. The sales person that agreed to giving away all the upgrades was not authorized to do so. End of story. No one is going to stand behind an employee that does that. She also didn't work for the company after that.
5. The option was given to the homeowners to either keep or change the shingles. They were not intimidated into doing so. They decided to keep them as they were and choose the new siding colors.
6. Over reaction? The homeowner wanted the work to be completed in their home but didn't want any of them to use the restroom. They had to leave the work site and drive to the gas station just to go.
7. Insurance paid for mid-grade carpet to be installed. Instead, there is now hardwood laminate flooring throughout the home which cost more to purchase and install.
8. The salesman should have never taken you to Home Depot and told you what to choose for cabinets. They should have given you the price range to stay within and let you choose at your own leisure.
It is not unreasonable for someone to expect the work they want done to be right. This project should have been finished a little faster than it was but there were issues keeping people there. Not to make excuses but if there are any issues that need to be corrected then the office should have been contacted if the salesman was not responding to them as needed. Most of what is listed here by the homeowner is all information that we are just hearing about. We want to make what we can right. If repairs are needed then let us know when we can send our crew out to fix them. If you do not accept that then there really is no basis for a complaint. We have to know there is a problem before we can fix that problem.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2014/03/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
1.The "salesman' you are referring to asked to take over the job was granted that request by you not me so with that said you deemed him qualified to do so. Whether he asked or you appointed him is irrelevant to this matter. But what is relevant is the fact that you, your salesman and I were all involved in more than 1 conference call at you office to discuss the complaints that I had. To say "This person never communicated there was any issues" IS A FLAT OUT LIE.
2. how is the house secured if he got in without breaking anything or forcing his way in.
3. I can accept the the charge for cleaning equipment while painting. What I WILL NOT ACCEPT is YOUR employee told us what we chose was fine and there wouldn't be a problem. If there was an issue IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATED before the work started. Not after the fact and then charge us something different than what was agreed upon.
4.If they were not authorized to as you put it "The sales person that agreed to giving away all the upgrades was not authorized to do so" how did the material i.e. siding and all materials to installed get ordered and delivered to my house? Somebody gave the OK to order it.
5. you agree we chose new siding colors. So we were going to get siding at some point???
6.The toilet they could use, but my shower and our home items IS UNREASONABLE. If I as the customer am uncomfortable with something being done in my house. You should be willing to help ease my concern instead of ignore it and allow your employees to intrude upon my wife and my personal items.
7.AGAIN, It was never communicated to use that the price difference was going to be an issue. we asked if we can see if the laminate wood flooring was possible with the money the insurance paid. next thing we were told is you ordered the flooring and were going to install it. The price issue CONVENIENTLY wasn't addressed to us until after it was already installed and the cabinets where ordered and installed.
8. We tried to to get a price limit from you and him. You both refused to to give me a price limit. If you will recall the home depot visit came AFTER I went to Topco Cabinets and Countertops for the first quote. YOU said it was too much and refused for the first time to give me a price limit. that is when your employee took my wife and I to Home Depot.
The following is what you neglected to address from my previous reply.........
9. There was a little over $5,000 in upgrades done in the home that cost them nothing.
RESPONSE.. Product was bought and work started without communication of anything costing different than agreed to. If there is a price difference between the insurance scope and the work performed there should be s copy of this information somewhere and that difference be communicated to the homeowner before work is started.
10.The fence was repaired without any issues.
RESPONSE... the fence was not fixed to the condition it was prior to the damage. I reported my concerns to the Project manager and he assured me it would be fixed. IT WASN'T FIXED.
11.The light not being centered went back where the original light was placed.
RESPONSE... the original ceiling had a 1' step down to the top of the cabinets. the light in its original position was mounted to the ceiling above the sink. The step down is now gone and the light is mounted to the wall above the sink "OFF CENTER".
12.The counter tops were corrected as soon as they were inspected.
RESPONSE... the counter tops were never fixed and are still in the condition as they were when I complained the first time. Again poor craftsmanship.
13.The upgrades they wanted inside the home ate up their funds.
RESPONSE... Not once was there ever a discussion of the funds being used up. Everything that was supposed to be done was agreed upon in the beginning before work was ever started
14.o one contacted this office about an invoice.
RESPONSE... my wife called your office 3 times and spoke to the owner once. she was instructed to email the owner and he would send a copy. I emailed the owner twice and could not get a response from my email requests.
15. 15.You can refer to your insurance scope for an itemized listing of what you were charged per item but keep in mind a lot of the interior work was done with upgrades.
RESPONSE... there were no unexpected upgrades performed on the house. If there were so called "upgrades". I should expect a copy of the differences between my insurance scope and the upgrade price you are referring to.
I AM STILL WAITING ON MY INVOICE FROM YOUR OFFICE. THERE HAS BEEN PLENTY OF TIME FOR YOU TO GET IT TO ME SINCE YOU WERE FIRST NOTIFIED BY THE Revdex.com. YOU WERE INFORMED OF THIS COMPLAINT ON 2/27/14, TODAY IS 3/14/14. [redacted]PLENTY OF TIME[redacted]
To say there is "no basis for a complaint" is ludicrous. We gave you and your company ample opportunities to correct the problems we were having. We voiced our concerns to you and they fell on def ears. For you to set behind that desk as prey on the innocence of the public and your customers in unforgivable nor is it forgettable. Do I want my house fixed properly?... Yes I do. But after the experience that I have had with you and your company, I will NEVER allow anyone from Top View Roofing on my property again. The manner in which you responded to the items you did, only shows he level of indifference that you hold toward your customers. It also highlights how you run your company as if it is a school yard playground and you act as if since you are the biggest kid on the playground you can push people around and no one will speak up. I am a reasonable person and wouldn't complain if things were handled and communicated professionally in the first place. But to go back on your word and hide the truth from me only because I voiced a concern about your employees sleeping in my house is not right. If you were honestly willing to make things right it wouldn't have taken a Revdex.com complaint to get you to respond to my requests.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2014/02/25) */
Mr. [redacted] was contacted by our telemarketing firm and did agree to allow Top View to come to his home for a free roof inspection. [redacted] went to the home at the agreed upon time and inspected the roof. The roof and several other...

components of the home did have major hail damage and the home owner was told so. He and [redacted] called in the claim to his insurance. The adjuster was scheduled to come out at 11:00am the next morning. [redacted] asked me to come out and help with the adjustment. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] and there was no misunderstanding about any of the process that was taking place. [redacted] asked Mr. [redacted] directly if we were meeting his adjuster out there and taking our time to do so that we were going to get to make the repairs on the home. Mr. [redacted] told [redacted] that he had his word that we would get the job. After spending 3 hours on the property with the adjuster, she agreed that he needed a new roof, some new siding, new window screens, 2 new windows, a new car port, some interior work due to leaking roof and multiple "personal items". We were there to assist Mr. [redacted] in getting a new roof on his home. True to his word, Mr. [redacted] signed a contract allowing us to do the work.
Later that same day we received a phone call in the office from the customer's daughter stating SHE wanted to cancel the contract. She was informed that she could not do so because she wasn't on the insurance and did not live in the home. That is when she had her dad sign the paper cancelling the contract, thus going back on his promise to [redacted].
Nothing was done wrong in this case whatsoever. The adjuster even explained everything to the home owner and he understood perfectly. The contract was cancelled as soon as the letter from Mr. [redacted] was received in the office.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2014/02/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Regardless of what Top View has to say, the POINT is that they refused to cancel the contract. (They used their sales tactics on a hard of hearing disabled senior citizen whose predominate language is spanish.) Their contract states that the client has 3 business days to cancel regardless of the reason. Mr. [redacted] was not forced to sign a cancelation letter he agreed that he made a mistake after conferring with his daughter and decided to cancel due to the fact he was hounded and never allowed to have other estimates for his roof. Since [redacted] and Top View had been so HELPFUL Mr. [redacted] thought they would be so amiable to cancel the contract instead all of the following has progressed. The moment Mr. [redacted] decided that he wanted to cancel and get more estimates he should have been able to do so with no questions asked. Due to his present health conditions he asked his daughter for help. Oklahoma state law allows for a client to have a spokesperson. His daughter took the time to research Top View and its owner and found Top View and its owner in PUBLIC court records several times with several pending cases regarding breach of contract with former clients. Bottom Line if you are looking for a roofing company stay away from Top View. If they have resorted to using telemarketing to promote their roofing business then they should try selling something else. Oklahoma has plenty of other options for roofing considering it is located in tornado alley. As always do your homework before hiring anyone. Never allow for one company to monopolize your need for any repairs, always get several estimates and do not sign anything until you have a full knowledge of their business and its contract or job proposal. If you live alone or are elderly have a friend, family member, or neighbor who has your best interests at heart go over things with you before you make major decisions which is what Mr. [redacted] should have done. For future reference be aware of a company that purposely tries to make itself unavailable while you are desperately trying to reach it to cancel. They want to lock you into that contract. Mr. [redacted] drove out to their business office to hand deliver his signed letter of cancelation and Top View was no where to be found. Thankfully Top View has now decided to cancel Mr. [redacted]'s contract, but not before Mr. [redacted] sent certified letterS of cancelation and also had his ATTORNEY send a letter of cancelation on his behalf.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2014/03/05) */
First, our office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. It is easy to find. Second, is it fair for someone to meet with the insurance adjuster on the customer's behalf and monopolize a total of 6 hours for no compensation for that time? That meeting assured the customer was treated fairly on his adjustment and received insurance money for personal property that he otherwise would not have received. Third, it is common practice to do insurance work for the insurance proceeds PLUS the homeowners deductible. Get bids all day long but it is illegal for a homeowner to profit from insurance proceeds. The insurance system is designed so that the customer gets the work done that is needed and the company doing the work is FAIRLY compensated. And finally, the customer asked and answered questions in English with no indication that he did not understand what was going on. It is common practice for roofing companies to meet the adjuster on site to assure the homeowner is treated fairly.
