We installed a flat roof on the front porch of this houseWe were contacted about a leak and our investigation found that the downspout was filled with debris and ice, causing a large ice baon the roofWe cleared the ice from the

Topside is roofing company who roofed my house five years agoI entered the crawl space upstairs that can be accessed from the hall through a door in my story and 1/homeIt was the beginning of DecemberIt had rained and the snow had melted on the roofThere were streams of water running down the stack pipeThe insulation on the ceiling was soaked and had to be removedI called Topside and told the owner about the problemHe didn't believe there could be a problemHe finally came out and climbed up on the roof looked around and did something that was supposed to take care of the problemThere was water running down the pipe about a week laterI called the owner againHe sent out an "expert"He looked and said nothing could be done until springSpring came, didn't here from themCame back from spring breakThere was water spots on crown molding in the porch on the north sideCalled up the ownerTold he about the water spots and they needed to take care of stack pipe problemHe came out and put up more flashingHe said it couldn't be our roofing jobIt's the guttersThe gutter are leaf guard which are one solid unitHe said the water built up and flowed back over topWe never had a problem with these gutters and the water wouldn't flow back but down the spoutI told he I did't believe that what happenedI also told him he didn't believe that water was running down the stack pipe eitherHe said he would have to come back and do a water test when it was warmerHaven't heard from Topside

In response to *** ***'s complaint, Topside, Inchad roofed a portion of the back of their house late last fallThis winter, with the heavy snow and ice we had, the ***'s had very large ice dams which caused the leaking on the old
portion of the roof near the new partIn a way to fair, I agreed to paint some of the areas where the water was leaking inI talked with our painting subcontractor to schedule the workHe became very busy and was not able to get out there in a timely fashionI contacted other painting contractors who I had been referred to and they were also very busyMy original painting contractor is finally caught up on his schedule and will be doing the repairs in the next week and a halfI did contact *** *** to let him know that
Originally when [redacted] called me I came right out and diagnosed where she was getting the leak on her roof.
I told here she had two options. The first option was to seal around the entire vent with a high quality clear silicone...
caulk. I told her the price would be $50 and that I can not guarantee when we do repair work. Our normal service charge to come out to do a service repair is $125.00 and I only charge her $50 due to the fact that I had done a smaller job for her a few years in the past. The second option would be to replace the roof vent and shingles around the roof vent. The price for labor & materials would be $250.00.As far as the opinion of the other contractor, I totally do not agree with what he had to say. I have been in business for 36 years and many times doing the more economical method has worked very well. The homeowner is the one who chose to do the $50 repair.
At the time the homeowner had called me back with problems about the leak, I had been out of town on a family vacation. I did call her back but it just took a little longer for me to get back on some of my calls.
