Tosa Village Apartments

Many years ago we lived in this apartment and it has been the only truly terrible experience we've had with a landlordWe didn't have very much experience in checking apartments to notice certain things that were hidden from us while we were looking Every tenant of all his apartment buildings I spoke to owned by this landlord [redacted] , had apartments infested with significant mold problems He would lie about most things, examples I've heard from different tenants were that it was required to have a drop ceiling (the other apartments didn't), the intercom system didn't work because of a "safety concerns." As we were moving out we happened to run into the next tenant who was told the windows in our apartment were brand new, which wasn't true The basement of our apartment was flooded in most of the storage units Many windows were painted shut and often times the mold would just be painted over The water would frequently be turned off (multiple times per month) as he had a very tack and tape method to his repairs If I had to state a good point I would say the heat was free, but we found out this was because the heat was broken and couldn't be controlled so even in the winter we had to keep the windows open when it would become like an oven The landlord himself was generally nice to us, but the conditions of every apartment he owns are atrocious We were sick quite often while living there In our apartments alone there were multiple reports of squirrels getting into the apartments both through the ceilings and walls I believe the only time the hallways and stairs were ever cleaned was when new prospective tenants were coming I could not recommend this place much less, I'm honestly not sure how this landlord's properties haven't been condemned
