I have used Total Home for many years for my AC and heating repairs/checkups. They are reasonably priced and show up on time. My father also used them for many years, he was a very fussy person and was always satisfied with their work.

We recently built a home through our builder "[redacted]" who contracted all of the work on our behalf so we had no vendor contact. They used Total Home Energy to install our HVAC system. The HVAC was entirely installed aside from choosing an AC and fan around August or September 2014. In late October I contacted [redacted] to see if there were any energy efficient upgrades we could get to take advantage of government grants and they gave me the phone number of Total Home Energy to ask. I called them on October 22, 2014 and they said they would "check to see what was compatible with the system currently installed in my home", then said that was the "observer" system and quoted me a price to upgrade the AC and "air handler" for the energy efficient government incentives at 825$ for the AC and 650$ for the "air handler" minus a 650$ government incentive. This was the first and only time I ever spoke to them.Several months later our builder was sent a bill from Total Home Energy for an "Observer" system, individual "trunk lines" and zone HVAC install. Our builder said they had never asked for that work to be done and sent them to me. They were immediately abusive but I told them I had no idea what they were talking about and that I had asked only for the energy efficient AC and blower upgrade and offered to pay for that directly, but they declined and said they would talk to my builder. In the meanwhile we paid our builder in full for all of the work done and received a signed statement to that effect including that we had paid for the AC and "air handler" upgrade. A month later Total Home Energy called and screamed at my wife saying we owed them money. She asked them to speak to our builder, or send us any contract, request for work, quote or anything else showing we had ordered any of the items they wanted payment for but they refused. Today I received a threatening letter from them demanding payment. We did not order anything from them aside from those 2 energy efficient upgrades for the government rebates and we have paid our builder in full. They are ignoring that payment and claiming we made some request for work that we did not and will not provide us anything to show differently. The entire "trunk line" system was installed before I ever knew who was even doing the work on our home as it was handled by our builder. I believe either my builder screwed up the order with Total Home Energy, or Total Home Energy installed something no one ever asked for and is now doing anything they can to extort money from us. We have told them they are welcome to come install the system our builder claims they ordered and remove anything that was not ordered but they have refused. An added irony is the system that is current installed doesn't work and just says "system error, contact Total Home Energy". They also have refused to give us the 650$ government rebate they received in our name.Desired SettlementI'd like Total Home Energy to deal with my builder as that is the contract we had. I have had no dealings with them other than to inquire about government energy incentives. They need to leave me alone and stop harassing me, or provide any sort of contract, or signed order from me showing that I have any sort of dealings with them. As it stands they are basically saying "Your contractor who we have a contract with for work isn't paying us what we want so we are coming after you directly."Business Response we were unable to come to an agreement with this customer and will pursue the matter legally.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)There is something very shady going on here. We have asked for any record of sale, or order, or date of that order, or who made that order on numerous occasions and they refuse to provide us with anything. At the end of the build our contractor claimed he had no knowledge of the "additional" work they claimed they completed and the builder has an original order form clearly showing the system that we did order (which is substantially less money than whatever they are now saying is installed). Total Home Energy also knows we had no knowledge of who they even were until after this work had been completed because they dealt exclusively with our builder. Yet, they refuse to figure out what happened with our builder, the person who was sub-contracting them, or provide any sort of documentation for the work they are saying we owe them for. I believe this is because the builder and this company are friends.I believe this business is well aware that Revdex.com doesn't deal with any issue undergoing litigation and has simply said they will pursue legal alternatives in order to close this Revdex.com case. We have NOT been served any notice of legal proceedings other than numerous ongoing threats that they will do so, attached to bills demanding immediate payment but no documentation that we have requested. We have also opened a case with the Consumer Protection Agency.
