Review: I got a new roof put on 6/11 and it has a 10 yr warranty on labor/materials. I called three times in the last 3 months to get a roof leak fixed and they have not come out to fix it or returned my calls.Desired Settlement: I would like my roof leak repaired as per the warranty.

Review: I contracted electrical work with Total Home Improvements, INC. through [redacted] for a recessed lighting deal and paid $402. The electricians could not install the lights as advertised but did do electrical work on 16 December 2014 and charged me $312.69 (installation of a light switch, wiring, and ceiling outlet). I called and spoke to John on or about 20 December, and he said he would have his bookkeeper get the refund in the mail the following week. I did not receive the refund check. I have called back three times and left three phone messages - no return calls. I have sent five or six emails, in which the office manager, [redacted], finally responded on 6 March and wrote that she would 'start the process.' I have not received a refund. I have written again and have received no response. Finally on 25 March, I wrote and told her I was going to file this complaint at noon on 26 March. I have heard nothing back. I am due a refund of $89.31 and respectfully ask your assistance to obtain it.Desired Settlement: Please immediately refund [redacted] $89.31 from electrical work completed on 16 December 2013. He paid $402 through [redacted] and received $312.69 in services. He first requested the refund on or about 20 December and has asked repeatedly with little response - it has been over 90 days.

Review: We had a roof replacement which was completed on December 14, 2012. We had a rainstorm on December 16, 2012 and the roof leaked immediately. Since the roof work, our skylight has leaked during rainstorms and during winter snow melt. THI made an attempt to fix the leak but it did not work. They put a tarp over the skylight and that took care of the leak temporarily. I spoke with **. [redacted] from THI just before January 1st and he promised they would take care of the problem but he explained that they were short on staffing due to winter layoffs. I was contacted by a THI repair person who said that the cold weather installation probably contributed to the leak and that it would be easier to fix when the weather got warmer. I have called THI offices in [redacted], PA and have left several messages both with a person and on their automated voice mail. I have not had a return call from them and the tarp has now begun leaking very badly every time it rains. The THI website comes up as "Account Suspended" and although the phone number rings, I keep getting forwarded to their automated voice mail. I contacted the salesperson ([redacted]) on her cell phone on 7/22/2013 but didn't get a return call.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the leak repaired since it has leaked every since the roof was installed in December. If they can't repair the leak I would like them to cover my expenses if I have to hire a contractor to finish their work.

Review: THI put a new roof on in July 2012 and in contract states Ice and Shield. On February 17, 2014 roof is leaking into our home. I tried to contact THI Storm repair by calling several different numbers to report problem (under warranty) and unable to get in touch with anyone. All numbers are busy or disconnected. The websites are also disabled.Desired Settlement: To repair the damage caused by the roof and replace the product that was installed incorrectly.

Review: I am unable to contact the custom to handle a warranty issues. All phone numbers are not responding.Desired Settlement: THI contact me to handle the warranty issue.

Review: I paied at first $2691.85 then paid $7997.34.they said that I still owe $2024.00 for roof repair.they did not do good job at all. They told me that home insurace fee will not change after roof repairbut rise up more than $300 after roof repair.I do not want to pay $2024.I needed to ask someone to lineup and repair my roof.I do not want to these people in my lifeDesired Settlement: I do not want to pay $2024.00I already paid $10689.19 for roof repair with totally unfinsh.

Review: I signed a contract with Total Home Improvements on October 19, 2012 for repairs and new roofs on our house and garage, as well as some new dormers to be added to the house. We had serious hail damage to our home as a result of a storm on July 4, 2012. We gave THI a check for $5000 so that they could begin to purchase supplies. No work has ever been scheduled nor supplies delivered. After almost 7 months of waiting, my husband and I made several calls between the last week of April and May 13, 2013 and spoke to [redacted] and [redacted]. I emailed [redacted] this morning, May 13, and my husband [redacted] emailed the address on their website today. We informed them in all communications that we want a refund of our deposit money and don't wish to do business with a company that has allowed our roof to further deteriorate and allowed openings in many places on the house where mold or insects may be doing damage. We have received no response as of today.Desired Settlement: Complete refund of our $5000 deposit and remediation of any mold or insect damage that may have occurred over the last almost 7 months as a result of holes in our siding and missing shingles on the roof. I would like THI to pay an independent inspector to look for any damage that may have occurred since October 19, 2012 as a result of their inaction on this matter.

Business

Response:

We agree that we signed a contract as described by [redacted] for re-roofing as well as the addition of new dormers on their house. The contract was signed on 10/19/2012 as stated. Our usual lead time to commence work of such a nature is 30-45 days, however this put us into the middle of November and below the recommended temperature to install asphalt shingles, therefore we had to push the job until the following spring start-up. Admittedly, our spring start-up was later than we desired this season on account of variables such as a late winter and a back-log of work from Hurricane Sandy. This late start-up pushed the job beyond what was acceptable for [redacted]. We don't like to upset any of our customers so we repeatedly attempted to add the job to our schedule but were unable to make it happen due to said reasons. Although no legitimate business easily accepts the loss of a contracted customer, we felt it would be best to refund the [redacted]'s 100% of their deposit. This refund check has since been sent to them.

While we acknowledged and responded to the issue of the prolonged delay in commencing the start of this job, we think it highly unlikely that this delay was the direct cause of mold or insect infestation over that time. However, we also don't want to discredit the [redacted]'s concerns. Our main reasoning is that we have many other customers that have also waited over the winter without such associated infestation. But still, nothing is impossible so we will contact the homeowners and arrange something to satisfy both parties.

Review: We had signed a contract with Total Home Improvements on May 21, 2012 for the amount of $8,375.50 for a new roof. This is to replace the roof that was serious damage by hail. We had nothing but problems with this new roof. Their Foreman name [redacted], who is [redacted] told me he would get back to me about the defective installation, he never came back. In fact he was living several houses away at [redacted]. [redacted], Pa. [redacted]. [redacted] would not stop as he passed our house several times a day. He moved away August 2012. Talk about a Fly by Night Outfit. He also told me he would replaced the Ice Dam that was damaged during the roof installation, he never did. Till this day he never did repair the defective roof. The roof started to leak after the first rain around the chimney area. Then the roof started to leak in several areas, leaving stains in the attic. Singles started to lift up in numerous locations, I had to glue them down. Metal strips started to buckle. I had to repair the roof numerous times. When they installed the roofing they damage the gutters and downspouts. They clogged the downspouts and drainpipes with the roof debris. I had to completely remove and replaced 30 feet of underground drainpipes going under the driveway. I still have other drainpipes to remove, way too costly for contractors to do. The attic had a lot of debris, instead of sweeping the debris away from the opening of the where the roof vent was they dumped the debris into the opening. I spent a lot of time cleaning up the attic. I still have more cleaning to do in the attic. When they came to our neighborhood to advertise, they had marked vehicles including a large RV with Total Home Improvement signs on them. But when they came to work on our roof all their vehicles were unmarked and no sign was put in yard to let people know who was installing our new roof. They were the only contractors in our lot plan that didn’t install a yard sign. Now I see why because of the shoddy job they did. The new roof, 22 squared yards, was installed in less than 5 hours, yes in 5 hours. That is taking off the old roof and putting on the new roof. It should have taken them 2 ½ to 3 days to do this job. A lot of short cuts and a lot of work weren’t done. I had to leave for appointment for two hours at the time they were taking off the old roof. When I got back they were already gone. I couldn’t believe it. [redacted] the foreman came back for the rest of the payment. My wife pointed out to him that she could see that some of the work was not done from standing from the patio. He was told to go up on the roof to correct the mess his crew didn’t do. He came down the ladder and said everything is taking care of now, only later I found out he lied. The whole crew was from South America, except the foreman [redacted]. I don’t know if they were legal aliens or not. We were embarrassed to see the defects from the street. People that went by our house knew we were taken. I have called The Corporate Office several times and the girls there said someone would get back to me. No one ever did. I have called the Main Office: ###-###-#### and talked to Jan and Kelley, they told me they would have Production Scheduling call me to set up an appointment. I never got any return calls back. Before their web site went down, they had a picture of [redacted], Famous Golf Legend endorsing their Services. I don’t think Arnold Palmer knew about them using his picture. Before we signed the Contract my wife talk to the owner of the business [redacted] about his Company. He said not to worry that they stand behind their services and they been in business for a lot of years. The flyer they gave us says: Total Home Improvements is a Revdex.com A+ Company! The contract we signed said we have a 10-year guarantee. What a joke they didn’t do any repairs that needed done. What a Fly by Night Outfit! On January 5, 2013 the damaged Ice Dam that was not repaired caused a lot of ice to fall onto the sidewalk. There was ice and water everywhere. I had to put down several bags of salt to break up the ice. If someone had fallen on the ice I would have to sue Total Home Improvements. I am thinking about having this new roof replaced by local contractors once I save up the money. Yes we were taken. I got water stains on my ceilings and attic floor. The damages that Total Home Improvements caused, are more than the costs of the new roof itself. I have tried to contact them at the local office at [redacted]., [redacted], PA [redacted], Phone Number: ###-###-#### but the number is disconnected. **. [redacted], President of Total Home Improvement his telephone number ###-###-####. I can’t anyone to answer. I think he has another business Total Public Adjusting, Inc. http://www.tpaclaims.com/ I am not sure. He needs to be put in jail for fraud. His company Total Home Improvement should be called Total Home Rip-Off Inc.Desired Settlement: Replacement of the roof and pay for all the damages to our home and property. I have spent alot of time repairing the roof and property.

Review: This company did a wonderful job on our roof and we loved the results. Everyone we dealt with was extremely friendly, responsive, and professional. Our roof replacement was paid for through our insurance company due to storm damage, and THI handled all the claim work. Upon job completion THI asked if we would like to get a lifetime warranty that would be transferable to future owner(s) of the home. We said yes and processed that final payment over the phone with a credit card and were told the warranty paperwork and guarantee would be in the mail. We never recieved anything. I have been calling, leaving messages, and emailing for over a year. No message has ever been returned, and now the phone number I have for the company is disconnected. I am able to leave messages on the cell numbers I have for the owner and project manager, but I have not been successful in any of my efforts. We paid for the warranty, which was additional to what we were being given by the insurance company, for the repair and would like what was promised to us.Desired Settlement: Would like promised lifetime transferable warranty information and guarantee, which was paid for at the time of job completion.
