Total Performance Racing, Inc. Reviews (1)

We have looked into Mr.[redacted] complaint and we have pulled records to verify all charges were authorized along with the customer supplying his own parts. In the beginning we weren't comfortable with the repairs/upgrades to the clients vehicle. As the Mr.[redacted] stated he supplied his own...

cylinder head (that was from a different engine family) but understood the differences along with his knowledge on the upgraded parts. Mr.[redacted] supplied the cylinder head and conversion gaskets to complete this job as WI did state I wasn't interested in doing "general repair" on the said vehicle, As Mr [redacted] stated he would supply the parts and just needed someone to install them. As we dug deeper and deeper into the matter the vehicle needed many additional small items, As in gasket, o rings, oil dipstick broken, boost control solenoid nipple broken off, cooling/heater hose along with a plastic water neck that was dryrotted. We replaced those items with new parts with our invoice from our parts warehouse to verify. The vehicle left our facility in running condition and Mr.[redacted] knew there were some loose ends on his side example: a check engine light (that we spent over 2hrs trying to diagnose) to find out it was something to do with his cylinder head conversion swap. He mentioned not to worry about it as he would have the vehicles computer reflashed and taken care of. We also kept our 2 technicians on this job on Thanksgiving to assure Mr.[redacted] vehicle could be completed for him as he was needing the vehicle back. We emailed him letting him know the car was almost completed and would return on Monday (it was FridayMr.[redacted] did email us March 17th 2016 @ 1:22pm stating the cylinder head was "detached" from the engine and asked if we could take a look at it.I did respond 7 minutes later letting Mr.[redacted] we were approximately 4-6 weeks back logged. We perform high performance services to hi-end supercars and at the time not having an "exact" schedule time to get Mr.[redacted] back in to see what his logic was and as to how a vehicle could start/run/drive and yet have a cylinder head become detached from the engine with ARP performance fasteners rated at 220,000psi something did not make sense.Mr.[redacted] then on April 1st 2016 sent us another email with demands and talk of attorneys etc we chose to not take in the job and mentioned to Mr.[redacted] in a return email that we're not interested in taking on a job with talk of threats/legal terms. We performed a labor service 4 months prior and never heard of any issues from Mr. [redacted] until our March 17th email and even then there was no talk of "were at fault" or any of these complaints Mr.[redacted] has all of a suddenWe were willing to take in the job once we could get caught up with our current projects we currently have. I am attaching our invoices where Mr.[redacted] has signed off on the car being in satisfactory condition when it was picked up.   We advised Mr.[redacted] November 30th 2015 @ 11:49am via email  of all our work was completed and he still has issues that needed to be addressed and he was going to have the computer flashed and understood these matters.I personally feel Mr.[redacted] does not understand that if a cylinder head is detached the car will not run, Again, we never had the impression Mr.[redacted] was stating we did anything wrong up until he heard we were 4-6 weeks out. This is when the storied changed direction.1st image is all of our contact dates/times etc.2nd image is signed 1st initial estimate/invoice3rd image is page1 of our invoice 4th image is pg2 of our invoice5th image is pg3 of our invoice6th image is the work order from machine shop stating his cylinder head failed inspection and was defective.7th image is NAPA invoice for service to cylinder head8th image is invoice from our parts supplier showing purchase of aftermarket performance cylinder head gasket and ARP performance head studs rated at 220,000psi.9th image is the invoice for the spark plugs used10th image is the invoice from the parts purchased and installed onto the Audi engine. All invoices state the are for an 2001 Audi A4 all products and description match Mr. [redacted] invoice.I will be scanning all of Mr.[redacted] and our emails back and forth to back up our conversations.
