Complaint Information: Tours of Terror has organized, promoted and booked theme tours (including the highly-acclaimed "DraculaTour to to Transylvania") since Our parent company has produced other theme tours (specifically the *** *** ** ***l) for yearsWe have NEVER had a complaint lodged against us in all our yearsThis references complaint is simply because the client cancelled and couldn't accept the cancellation fee of $150, which is clearly stated in the reservation form said traveler filled outBelow is the copy of the terms and conditions language associated withe the booking; please note that the party who filed the complaint received a 100% refund of the funds paid aside from the office feeWe can provide copies of the refund check and the reservation form upon requestThank you for giving us the opportunity to show that the complaint has no meritsCancellations and refunds policy: A booking can be cancelled but the cancellation must be made in writingWe will carry over deposits if you must postpone your trip and you wish to travel on a later vacation if you give us ample noticeThe following cancellation charges (per person) apply: full refund less $office fee if you notify us in writing more than days prior to the trip50% refund 89-days prior$refund 59-days prior$refund 29-days priorNo refunds for no-shows/lasr minute cancellationsNo refunds for any unused portion(s) of the tour packages.

Review: "On 01/24/14, I forwarded by mail $2000.00 to reserve 2 spaces for the 2014 "Dracula Tour" to Romania. On 01/30/14, my deposit was cashed by Charles Rosenay (owner)of Orange, CT (###-###-####). I did not receive any confirmation that my daughter and I were registered for this trip I called repeatedly asking for a response and emailed queries requesting a response. On 02/18/14, (19 days have passed) sent email requesting update. On 02/19/14, (20 days have passed) sent repeat email expressing my growing concern that no one has contacted me regarding the trip, especially since my deposit was cashed. On 02/24/14, I mailed written notice to return my deposit in full of $2000.00 indicating that I was not comfortable with their business practice. On 02/25/14, (26 days no response) sent email stating written notification was sent and my email acted in the same capacity. I called the office and asked that I be contacted with the next 24 hours. On 02/25/14, received an email at 10:59 PM (after reciept of my request to return deposit)of a "mock" notice stating will recieve confirmation in the mail. Afterward at 12:41 AM another email stating a delay was due to weather and family/health issues and that this was no justification for getting my confirmation out to me in a reasonable time. This was followed by a number of call from Mr. Rosenay asking me to re-consider. I indicated how uncomfortable email 02/27/14)he was making me with the calls and requests to stay with the trip. I asked again for return of my deposit staing I am not a part the trip nor confirmed as such. My daughter called on 03/06/14, at which time Mr. Rosenay stated he will return the $2000.00 deposit. On 03/15/14 (45 days later) My daughter called when check had not been recieved and Mr. Rosenay was rude, belittling and stated: "Fine then, you want an answer so bad then I'll be sending you a check with $150 taken out per person, because of your impatience for a confirmation and your refund, there's my final answer". He hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: Settlement desired to be no less than $2000.00 the original amount forwarded on 01/24/14, cashed on 01/30/14 for which no reservation confirmation was received for 26 days and I cancelled any further plans to conduct business with Mr. Charles Rosenay of Tours of Terror, 315 Derby Street, Orange CT @ ###-###-####. Both my daughter would like it known publicly that his business practices are dishonest / unreputable, we feel an apology is owed for emotional distress & our money held 46+ days.

Our parent company has produced other theme tours (specifically the [redacted]l) for 31 years. We have NEVER had a complaint lodged against us in all our years. This references complaint is simply because the client cancelled and couldn't accept the cancellation fee of $150, which is clearly stated in the reservation form said traveler filled out. Below is the copy of the terms and conditions language associated withe the booking; please note that the party who filed the complaint received a 100% refund of the funds paid aside from the office fee. We can provide copies of the refund check and the reservation form upon request. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to show that the complaint has no merits.
