Tower Pharmacy Reviews (2)

Review: I brought two 90 day supply compound prescriptions to be filled to the Tower Pharmacy in Turlock, CA on Oct 14,2013. My prescription coverage is through CVS Caremark and the Tower Pharmacy is listed on the Caremark website as a Caremark network participating pharmacy. When I dropped off the prescription, I was told that they would not bill my insurance and I had to pay cash for the prescription. I called Caremark and they mailed me a form that needed to be completed by the pharmacy that I could submit with my receipt to get reimbursed for my prescriptions (minus copay). I took the form back to the pharmacy so it could be completed. I picked up my two prescriptions on Oct 18,2013 and paid $149.70. They handed me back the form and nothing was filled out. I asked to have it filled out and they said that all the information I needed to fill it out could be found on the prescription slip. The required information was: Rx #, 11 digit NDC #, Ingredient Name, Metric Quantity, Ingredient Cost, Total Metric Quantity, Total Amount Paid by Patient. I said - the form is asking for the cost of the ingredients and I can't get that off the paper. She said we don't give out that info. I handed the form back and asked to have a pharmacist sign the blank form and they did. I took the form and filled out what I could from the pres paper. I mailed it to CVS for reimbursement on Oct 21,2013. CVS rejected my form so I sought help from my HR Benefits Dept and was given the correct NDC numbers. I still had no ingredient cost. I resubmitted the form to CVS again on Dec 12, 2013. Today,Jan 24,2014 I received the form back from CVS again-again they rejected the reimbursement because of no ingredient cost. I went to the Tower Pharmacy today and spoke with [redacted] and told her I can't get reimbursed without the ingredient cost. She said that information is protected, we don't have to give it out, we don't give it out and we aren't going to give it out and she suggested I go to another pharmacy. I left with no resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like the ingredient cost filled in by the Tower Pharmacy on the reimbursement form so I can resubmit the form again to CVS and get reimbursed by my insurance for what I paid for the prescriptions (minus my co-pays).

Response:

?I received a voice message on my home recorder on Friday night (Feb 28, 2014) from the owner of the Tower Pharmacy, Darin Nelle. He told me he received the letter from the Revdex.com and even though he did not have to respond to it, he is going to refund all of my money and he apologized for the inconvenience I experienced. He said I could pick up a check after Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Just for your info - I intend to send him back a check for 50% of what he refunds me. I did not ask for the prescription for free and I used it and do not intend to keep all of the refund.

Today, I highly do not recommend Tower Pharmacy in Turlock. In my opinion, their staff including the pharmacist has poor communication skills. I believe anybody who is treated unprofessionally by a business has the right to be upset and inform the public.
