The customers house simply was never ready to trim out each time we came over to work on itWe had the wiring done for it during this timeHe has been working on it for a year and we can't trim out a house that isn't ready to trim We are now finished with the trim and our portion of
electrical workIf he wants to pursue a legal case that is his optionOur position is simple, we can't trim something that isn't ready

Review: I had new service panel installed and wired with new grounded outlets in my home by Town & Country Electric. They were contracted through a realtor I was dealing with in the purchase of my new home. Just days after moving into the home I started having problems with one of the breakers tripping and not resetting. I called the electricinan who send out one of his guys to find the problem.

When he came over he was unable to find anything wrong with my equipment or panel. He said that the breakers were notorious for picking up feedback surges and what would solve my problems was a whole-home surge protector module that plugs into a double slot in the service panel. He said that it wouldn't be covered by their guarantee even though it was what was needed to make the electrical service fully usable.

I later received a bill from TCE for $70 stating that I had defective equipment plugged into the circuit. That wasn't what the electrician said when he was in my house looking at it. He never tested anything to determine any faults. He only told me that a surge protector installed in the service panel would eliminate the problem. I installed one myself and I have not had any issues since. I am still using the same devices that they say caused the problems, WITHOUT further problems. So obviously the problem with the panel was not having the whole-home surge protector that they should have installed in the first place.

Bottom line is TCE installed a electrical panel that was not fully functional, refused to fix it. Then they billed me for the call-out and made a false statement as justification.Desired Settlement: Waive/Cancel the call-out charges.

Response:

Town & Country Electric was contracted by a local

realtor to upgrade the service on the house and change outlets in the house to

GFI protected. Town & Country Electric warranty is for this work performed for

the realtor.

After the customer had bought the house, a call was made to

Town & Country Electric. Customer stated that the GFI wouldn’t reset in

basement. Customer was asked if everything plugged into the basement circuit

could be unplugged to see if the GFI would reset. The customer response was

that everything was unplugged and that the GFI would not reset. A service call

was made by Town & Country Electric to the house and our electrician

observed in the basement that the customer had an “assortment of equipment” plugged

in. Our electrician then unplugged “assortment of equipment” and reset the GFI

successfully.

The “assortment of equipment” included multiple gaming

systems, TV, stereo equipment, ect. Town & Country Electric wants it noted

that the “assortment of equipment” included a gaming system with no cover on

it.

It was the judgement of our electrician that the “assortment

of equipment” caused the GFI to trip and not to reset.

This service call was on a Saturday and he wasn’t charge for

our weekend rate which would have been more.

The work performed by Town & Country Electric on the

house was passed by a city inspector and cleared by the realtor that hired us.

The customer complaint and problem he experienced had

nothing to do with the work that Town & Country Electric performed for the

realtor and therefore is not covered by our warranty.
