I currently live hereMy problem started about a month ago when my toilet backed up for no apparent reason and left the whole bathroom and hallway from my bedroom door to the living room drenched with waterThere was nothing in the water but it's the idea that you're walking around on toilet water so I asked that they not only repair my toilet, but also clean my carpet in that area because the fact that they DO NOT clean the carpets show once it became wetWhen I asked for these two simple things, their (the office) response was, "you can rent a plunger for $5." Are you kidding me? I pay more than $a week for a two br and you're telling me I need to rent a plunger when it's YOUR plumbing that's acting upNever the less, they did end up coming to half a$$ fix the toilet but left the carpetIt began to mildew and smell so I began visiting the office everydayOn the third day, I walked in the office after work and one of their csr's I'd never seen before was standing behind the counterI proceeded to tell him my issue and demanded that they have someone to perform the work the next dayHe proceeded to tell me, verbatim, "yeah you hope so, huh?" I kept my cool and asked him for his supervisorHis answer, "I can't give you that information." I then asked for their corporate office information and he replied with the same answerI don't know if they're used to dealing with is, but I'm certainly no is, so I googled it and came across McKellar DevelopmentI ended up speaking with a lady who's name I forget and told her everything that happened up until that point and she told me she would contact them (the office personnel) and contact me backShe did contact me back around and hour or so later and informed me the repairs would be made promptly and they wereNow, the fact that I contacted their corporate office must have lit a fire under their ***, [redacted] 's (the office manager) in particular, because right after that she called up to my apartment and talked to my BABYSITTER while serving a day notice to us stating we have some non-existent cat that they still to this day can't describe and because our babysitter was there on more than one occasion, which is usual for a babysitter, he must be living there! With that being said, they denied our rentOn the second day after they served the three day, they served us with a day notice to pay or quit, but you DENIED OUR RENT! So I went to the office and requested to speak with the manager, [redacted] She was not there, as she never is, so I wrote her a note and copied it ;)She never responded so I told them I'd move itThe csr in there at the time told me I could not because I now owed them week, days worth of rent but still denied it when I tried to pay saying the manager has to be there even though she never isEventually I did catch [redacted] in the officeI started on a recording that I am fully prepared to pay my rent but would like to speak with her to make sure there would be no further misunderstanding and to clear the airShe responded by saying that she was not going to speak to me and even told a csr under her to ignore me when I come into the office (all of this is recorded)After that they started sending security (obviously they are literal rent a cops who have absolutely no business performing the job they're performing)up to my room constantlyOn one particular occasion, he came to my door and asked me if I was still hereA stupid question begs a stupid answer so I responded with, "don't it look like it?" He gets mad and walks away saying that next time he is going to come in my apartmentso, me being me, again not stupid and very well aware of the laws, decided to record that statementYou would think that with as much money as they charge you for a room that really isn't close to the best, that they'd at least have better customer serviceI attempted to call the corporate office again and from that point on, the lady, who's name I can't remember, told me she can't do anything and that I'd have to take it up with [redacted] ? How much sense does that make? So the best advice I can give is, DO NOT stay here! If it is your last resort, RECORD EVERYTHING and save all receipts and correspondence from the office

Dirty thieves and liars! They allow maintenance to use keys, come in your room and steal! And nothing gets done about it! [redacted] don't care neither! Drug dealers and crack-heads have a show down on the weekends! Hot water stops working everyday, be prepared to take a cold shower. No good manager has a very nasty attitude!

She did contact me back around and hour or so later and informed me the repairs would be made promptly and they were. Now, the fact that I contacted their corporate office must have lit a fire under their [redacted], [redacted]'s (the office manager) in particular, because right after that she called up to my apartment and talked to my BABYSITTER while serving a 3 day notice to us stating we have some non-existent cat that they still to this day can't describe and because our babysitter was there on more than one occasion, which is usual for a babysitter, he must be living there! The csr in there at the time told me I could not because I now owed them 1 week, 2 days worth of rent but still denied it when I tried to pay saying the manager has to be there even though she never is. Eventually I did catch [redacted] in the office. I started on a recording that I am fully prepared to pay my rent but would like to speak with her to make sure there would be no further misunderstanding and to clear the air. She responded by saying that she was not going to speak to me and even told a csr under her to ignore me when I come into the office (all of this is recorded). After that they started sending security (obviously they are literal rent a cops who have absolutely no business performing the job they're performing)up to my room constantly.
