The down payment was from a construction loan and cannot be refunded directly to the borrowerThe refund of the down payment was sent to their Title company *** *** *** * *** on 10/15/15. *** ***Town & Country Housing

The down payment came from a title company with proceeds from a construction loanA construction loan is for the specific home that the construction loan was set up for and there fore it is our obligation to be sure that the refund is used to pay off the construction loan and not be refunded to the borrowerThe complaint resolution was that the customer wanted the $40,to be refundedThe refund check was sent prior to the complaint date, cleared our bank account on 10/23/and Town and Country considers this issue closed!

We visited this business in April. The business took the order of our new home on May 30, 2015. We put our down payment in around July 6, 2015. At the time we ordered we were told 6-8 weeks for delivery. 8 weeks, that takes us to first part of September. We prepped our building site later that month. Town and Country Housing even came and inspected it. Everything was good to go. In August, around six weeks for deliver, we called to check on delivery of our new home. We were told at that point it wouldn't be coming off the line until September 25th. We called EVERY week after that.. and every week we were told the cement people are busy... we are now at October 20th... they were here this morning. The site is NOT prepped properly. They will have to come back to finish. They have ALL the money for the home and we have NOTHING to show for it. It is so frustrating being lied to and lied to over and over.

Review: We gave them $40,000 as a down payment for our new home on August 30th. We were told our house would be completely built from the factory in 4-6 weeks. On September 9 th the salesman met with us and told us it was going to be pushed back until the middle of November and the garage wouldn't be able to be built until spring. They didn't even send someone out to stake out the house until the beginning of October. They didn't have all the proper documents so we were unable to obtain our building permit. We called on October 5th to tell them we wanted to cancel everything and wanted our deposit back. Dick, the salesman told us he was unable to do that because his boss mark is the only one who can cancel a contract and mark would be out of town for another week and he can't be reached. I called back on the 12th and spoke to mark. Mark said he was fine with us cancelling our contract and would be mailing us back our $40,000 that day. Today is the 22nd of October. I have received no $ back and have left a message with him every day this week with no return call!Desired Settlement: Our $40,000 deposit returned to us as requested. We were within the 30 day cancellation policy.

[redacted] We ordered a house the beginning of May and were told it would be up and finished in July. It showed up on their lot in September. They have you pay for the house then, not when they put it up. Constant reassurances it would be done "next week or two". It's now December 4th, they have our money, they have the house on their lot, and won't return calls or give any firm time line for putting the house up. Don't work with them, or if you do have them change your contract to make it so you don't pay until the house is done.
