I am rejecting this response because:Original window sticker was never receivedA copy was sent to us from their corporate offices, different from the picture they had texted us before purchasing the car.We had to accept the higher charges and the new plates as the time constraints due to our profession did now allow for us to keep going over and over to the dealership as they wanted toWe ended up paying more than we should've had to and our original request agreed at moment of purchase was never honored. Financing papers finally arrived, both of our information was incorrect and the dealer could not fix itWe still have not received the Hyundai traguarantee promised by financial representative as condition for us to purchase the car and on our last communication, now he changed the story and stated that was not possible, despite having had verified it by calling his corporate office at the moment of purchase.

I am rejecting this response because:I did not...

receive any refunds.  I tried several times to contact this business and no one returns my calls. I got charged for new license plates that I didn't want. I told them I wanted to just transfer my license plates over to this car.  I got charged new license plate fees.  Every time I call they are in a meeting or with a customer, I leave my name and number and no one calls me back.

Review: I purchased a Hyundai veloster this November. Since towne Hyundai had to swap one of their velosters with another dealership's veloster to get the car I wanted, I was asked to

write a check for 1,000 dollars to "hold" the car. The salesman's name was [redacted].

I gave them the check to hold. After picking up the car, [redacted] called me and said that he'd

need a bank check for 6,700 dollars along with a bank loan of 17,000 a

total purchase price 23,700 dollars. Please note there was no mention of my Holding check

factored in the the total purchase price. When I got there ,My husband and I were introduced to the finance manager [redacted]. While giving me documents to sign,I asked [redacted] if he had ripped up the "holding" check. He didn't answer, said he was confused and left to talk to the manager -[redacted]. He came back and said the check had been cashed and went to the purchase price of the car-now making the price 1,000 more-24,700. We were shocked. A two hour discussion ensued.

[redacted] and [redacted] continually tried to twist the numbers around while we persisted in

questioning why they cashed our check without our permission. My husband was getting very angry and I was literally nauseated. I went outside to get some air. [redacted]

had been missing the whole time. Now he came up to me outside, beyond earshot of the managers, assured me that if the dealership had messed up, they would cut me a check for the 1,000 dollars. He lied to my face. When [redacted] and [redacted] were out of the office, [redacted] walked in and made the same statement to my husband. When we told [redacted] and [redacted] what [redacted] had said, they ignored the statement. I was physically sick

Thinking I still wanted the car,my husband accepted 200 dollars back, still leaving us overcharged 800 dollars This was a scam from the start. A few days later,my husband called [redacted] and told him he was going to get a bad review and he was aware [redacted] wasn't

alone. [redacted] told him since he was aware

of the situation,he could add comments to a box.Desired Settlement: The 800 dollars we're owned and an apology from the owner

acknowledging inappropriate action by the salesman in conjunction with management.

Business

Response:

After reviewing the purchase order, it reads that the $1,000 was being applied towards the purchase of the vehicle. This is the reason why we have documents, and everything is itemized on the purchase order. In instances such as these, paper work protects the consumer as well as the dealership. It is a not a "he promised" or "she said" arguement.

The buyer's order clearly states the $1,000 is being used towards the purchase. The customer signed said buyer's order.

Review: Dishonest sales tactics. Misadvertising. Contract signing duress. (Detailed explanation available but exceeds 2000 character limit of this window)Desired Settlement: Return of excess amount charged through duress in contractual buying process. Change of sales tactics to not take advantage of consumer.

Business

Response:

In an attempt to rectify the consumer complaint [redacted], Towne Hyundai is in the process of funding a check for the amount of $635.58 to [redacted]. The check request was initiated and we're waiting to receive approval from billing.

Please let me know if you need further information. Thank you.

Review: I had a 22,500 mile service in September 2013, mostly an oil and filter change. About 600 miles later, while on vacation in Cape Cod, the oil drain plug fell out and all the oil in the engine emptied. Luckily, I was on Route 6, a two-lane highway, and not Interstate 95! Also, I was lucky that the engine automatically shut off. I wrote an email that day to the customer service manager. He never responded. Sent several follow-up emails to Towne Hyundai to which I got no response. Sent an email to [redacted] – I was told to go back to the dealer. I went into the dealership personally and handed my complaint to the customer service manager with back-up documentation from [redacted], the gas station I had to buy oil from to replenish the engine, and Towne’s 22,500 mile service record. No response. Sent more follow-up emails. Still no response. I have never experienced such bad customer service in my 45 years of driving. Outright disregard for the customer. I treated Towne with courtesy and respect. Got none in return.Desired Settlement: I asked to be reimbused for the oil I had to buy to replenish the engine and the service cost for [redacted] (total of about $40). I also asked that the car be checked for any permanent damage to the engine (such as a compression test).

Business

Response:

I spoke to [redacted] this morning,July 24th 2014, at 9:45am and have provided him with the credit. He now has $80 in service credit to use at our dealership for any service in our service department.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

It came 10 months after the incident. Towne Hyundai was good enough not to ignore the complaint entirely and I appreciate the $80 of credit. However, I have lost confidence and trust in Towne Hyundai and will not be returning there for sales or service. I am comletely satisfied with the service I now receive a Hackettstown Hyundai and will continue to go there eventhough it is 10 more miles from my home. Sorry, too late.

Review: We purchased a new car from this dealer. Initially they tried to give us a different car than the one we purchased (cheaper and with less features, but for the same higher price), but we noticed on time and had to wait longer to get the correct car. Despite we asking for the window sticker multiple times, the day of the final purchase, the dealer did not provide a window sticker. After we insisted many times over several weeks and spoke with their sales manager (Mr. A[redacted]), they were able to provide a copy from their corporate office, but the original sticker that came with the car was never provided. Also the amount we had to finance was different from the one agreed upon on the initial sales order. Additionally we requested to transfer our plates to the new car, but were charged without our knowledge a higher fee for new plates and were not able to get a refund or maintain our plates as the dealer did not allow it due time constraint since the temporary plate was about to expire. To date (1 month after) we still don't have the plates, financing papers to pay the first installment or the "Hyundai assurance guaranteed trade in price" promised by the dealer finance person (Mr. M[redacted]).Desired Settlement: Provide financing papers, original window sticker and fix their mistake and allow transferring our plates to the new car as we originally requested.

Also written apology.

Review: We have attempted numerous times to stop sending us letters. I was a co-signer on my sister-in-law's vehicle and they incessantly to get me to trade in the vehicle or upgrade. This started one month after purchase and is now years after. The location will only give an 800 number to call to remove from the mailings, but this has not stopped them. I did see a short reprieve from the (at least) weekly mailings only to have them start sending them in my sister-in-law's name, who does not live at this address. The mailings have since restarted. I have no desire to continue fighting this company to stop the harassment.Desired Settlement: I would only like them to stop contacting me. I have no desire to purchase a new car at this time and can ensure that Towne Hyundai will never be on my list of options.

Review: My family purchased two new vehicles from Towne Hyundai (the Genesis had a 1 inch scratch on the top of the trunk that the dealership stated would be fixed at a later time). When the car was dropped off to fix the scratch we were told it would take one day. Called everyday for 7 days until the car was returned a week later. The next day we noticed an approx 6 inch by 12 inch scratch/scrape on the back bumper (driver side). Called Towne Hyundai and asked to speak to Soliman the GM, was told he was not there but at the other dealership he works for, when I called Towne Toyota the receptionist said they were lying to me and that Soliman was in fact at Towne Hyundai. She told me to ask for the CRM in hopes of him rectifying the issue. I finally reached [redacted] and he stated that he wanted to keep our family as customers since we are already upset and would repair the bumper and also fix a scratch on the passenger side of the car. On July 6th the car was dropped off 7 days later on July 12th my younger brother came to pick up the car. The scratches were still there. I immediately called Mr [redacted] and he told me that he never said he would fix the scratches, he would just try to do the best he could. (Which is in fact a lie, I would not agree to this type of repair when the damage occured while they had the vehicle in their possession for 7 days to fix a 1 inch scratch). Mr [redacted] state that he and the GM were not interested in talking to us because wed never buy a car from them again, he got very loud and hung up on me. I can see thru the reviews on various websites that I am not the only one to have an issue with this dealership. The scratch is still there and after numerous lies from this company I am sad to acknowledge that they will not rectify the issue.

Business

Response:

When vehicles are purchased from our dealership and the customer comes to take delivery, the salesman walks slowly around the vehicle with the client in order to make sure there aren't any scratches, dings, dents, blemishes, etc. In cases where there are imperfections in the vehicle, a customer signs a form called a "We Owe", meaning, the deliver ship owes the customer something post-delivery. (sometimes it's floor mats, or a repair in this case.)

Although the people mentioned in the complaint are no longer with us, it sounds as if the customer was told that we "might" be able to buff out the scratch, but would not do paint work. Sometimes scratches can be buffed out, sometimes they can't. After trying to remove the scratch, and not being able to, it seems as if it became a he says/she says matter, at which point the "We Owe" should have been produced. It clearly wasn't.

Review: On August 13th, I brought in all of the necessary paperwork to process the refund of my warranty. I was told by my sales representative that it would take 45 days to receive my refund. On October 28, 2013 I called Town Hyundai to find out the status of my refund and they said that it was with the owner. I advise them that it has been 45 days. They said that they would get back to me. I called the warranty company to verify everything, it was sent to the dealer on the 28th of August the warranty refund amounts.

I called the dealership again today 11-5-13 to find out the status and they still have not provided me with the refund check. They are not calling me back and they have not provided any information as far as when I will receive my refund. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way that they are handling a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my refund check immediately from the dealer.

Business

Response:

Ms. [redacted] has since got her check. Unfortunately, sometimes we are at the mercy at the Warranty company. We apologize for the delay and hope all is well.

Review: Purchased a used car from Towne Hyundai, 3[redacted] NJ 07834 on 5/6/15. Vehicle was advertised on the Internet for the price of $14,500. The contract shows the price of the vehicle as $16,478.00.

They charged me $895.00 for [redacted] which I wasn't aware of. If I had known I was going to charged for this I would have told them I didn't want this.

They charged me $199.00 for Vehicle Theft Protection from [redacted] which I wasn't aware of. If I knew I was going to be charged for this, I would have told them I didn't want it.

They told me they were going to do the first oil change on it for me. They never told me that they were going to charge me for it because I would have told them not to do it.

I have charges on my contract for Lube/Oil & Filter $88.00.

Exterior Cleaning $89.00.

Full Interior Detail $112.00.

I didn't ask for any of these things to be done to the car and I should not have to pay for these things.

They charged me $252.00 for Registration/Title Fee, I should not have been charged this because I live in [redacted] State.

They charged me: Clerical Fee $163.00, Administrative Fee $88.00, Document Delivery Fee $48.00, all which totals $299.00.

I told this dealership that I wanted my own bank to finance my car because I had already been pre-approved and the interest rate was only going to be 2.3%. The salesman said he would get that same deal for me. I found out that his finance deal was for much more at 5.64% interest.

They were sneaky, changed the figures around, adding things I didn't want, charging more interest. All in all a car that was supposed to cost me less than $14,500 ended up costing me $21,341.50 which includes $3,432.40 interest at 5.64%.

Since 5/6/2015 I tried calling this dealership dozens of times, leaving messages which they do not return.

The car I traded in is already listed on their internet sight for sale, however it has not yet paid off at my bank. I still haven't received my registration from them. The temporary paper license plate is only good for 20 days past 5/6/2015 then I won't be able to drive my car.

After this nightmare I've been through with this dealership I checked other customer reviews on this dealership. People complained about the changing the numbers on their contracts and of the shady, sneaky practices of this dealership. They keep you there all day, going back and forth, making you extremely confused, tired and exhausted and then go in for the kill. Then they drop you like a hot potato after they make a sale and they do not return your calls.

I'm scared because I have a car payment on the car I traded in coming due next week and it should have been paid off. I'm upset because I won't be able to drive my car soon because the temporary paper license plate will expire soon.

I place my trust in this dealership because they explained that they were in business a long time. They need to be investigated for their shady dealings. Please check the other people's reviews to see how they've been scammed. ThankDesired Settlement: I want the bill adjusted to the correct price. I want all of the extra costs for the items I did not want and wasn't aware that I was being charged for removed. I want the vehicle I traded in paid off as promised (a payment is due on this car I don't have next week). I want my prescription eyeglasses and pendant returned to me as promised. I want my registration so that I can put my license plates, which are sitting in trunk of my car, put on my car. The paper, temporary plate that they gave me expires 20 days from 5/6/15 and I won't be able to drive my car. I was also promised the same 2.3% interest as my bank offered me, I want this also because I was lied to.

Response:

The refund is currently in process. The check has been cut and we are awaiting signature from our dealer principal. The customer, [redacted] has been in contact with multiple managers at Towne Hyundai to rectify her complaints. Any additional complaints have been tended and have since been resolved.

Review: After only going for an oil change about an hour later service rep [redacted] told me my brakes needed to be replaced I asked for the price for service he told me $269.99 I advised him your website has coupon for $50 off then he raises price to $299.99 and says I can take $50 off that price I told him to complete the job before they started working on that job another service rep says would you like loaner for few hours and come back in 3 hours. I told him yes because my girlfriend was also advised to get 4 new tires for almost $600 worth of service. After I signed for loaner I told service rep [redacted] that a competitor had $60 off coupon for brakes and that I wanted that discount applied to my order with your brake special of $269.99 he advised me he could not do that and I specifically told him not to perform the service if I was not getting the $60 off discount from the price of $269.99 and I wanted to speak to his manager. He told me to wait so I did he went to another room and returned with no manager but told me that it would be taken care of I said ok. We then got in loaner car which had barely any gas in it so we had to wait 20 min to have them put more gas in vehicle. Shortly after that about 20 min or less I called the dealer back to speak to service manager they told me he wasnt available. I asked to speak to rep [redacted] to confirm that he spoke to his manager about the price discrepancy for the brake service and he told me knowing has changed. He told me that he was going to take care of it before I told him to do the brake job and now the brakes were already changed. I asked to speak to the service manager he told me he wasnt there so he put me on hold when he returned he advised price is going to be $60 off $299.99 I advised him that is unacceptable. I spoke to service manager [redacted] he was not looking to honor the discount of $60 off their price of $269.99 also asked him if he would honor a competitors coupon of $199.99 located in Burligton,Nj Hyundai City but he said no they are in PA.Desired Settlement: I want the competitor coupon to be honored of $199.99 or the $60 off coupon to be applied to brake price of $269.99.

Business

Response:

The regular price for a complete brake replacement job at Towne Hyundai is $299.00 per axle. During the month of January, 2014 Towne Hyundai was running an in-house coupon on brake replacement at $269.00 for all customers. During the same period of time, Towne Hyundai was also listing an on-line coupon for a $50 discount on a complete brake replacement job for customers visiting our web-site, which would make the brake job $249.00. The $50 coupon was the better deal and that discount would be honored off of the regular price for the complete brake replacement. As with most business', coupons may not be combined. This policy is clearly stated in the disclaimer section located at the bottom of every coupon that Towne Hyundai offers. This policy was also explained to Mr[redacted] during his visit by both [redacted] and [redacted]. It was also explained that although Towne Hyundai makes every attempt to stay competitive in our local market and try to meet or beat a local competitor's prices, we do reserve the right to refuse to honor a competitor's price if it is outside our local market. Ultimately, Mr[redacted] received a locally excellent prixce ona complete brake replacement job using only Hyundai factory components installed by skilled Hyundai factory trained technicians.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I have been hearing noises coming from my brakes ever since I got the work done at Towne Hyundai I am planning to set up an appointment soon to get this issue rectified. I am hesitant to return to Towne Hyundai their customer service is inconsistent with the experience I have had there in the past and have always honored competitor coupons until the service on the brakes.

Business

Response:

We would be happy to check over the vehicle and see what the source of the noise is. He may call to set an appointment at his earliest convenience.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: TD Bank requested a refund on my extended warranty which I purchased when I purchased my 2010 Elantra at Towne in 2010. The bank requested the extended warranty be cancelled since my Hyundai Elantra was totaled on January 4 and the warranty was still in effect but now obsolete. Neither I nor the bank have received that refund. The bank loan is paid off now so the refund check should be issued to me but I not recevied the refund. Towne Hyundai has never responded to a request for a refund on the extended warranty which was purchased to cover five years and the car was only three years into the warranty.Desired Settlement: Towne Hyundai should have immediately canceled the extended warranty and issued a refund in January since my insurance company declared the car totaled in January 2014. The extended warranty was void at that point. Thank you.

Business

Response:

The refund will be retroactive back to the time the insurance company deemed the vehicle totalled. This issue has been resolved and the customer will receive their refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: On July 29, 2013. I purchased a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz . I was given a temporary plates and registration which expired on Aug. 17, 2013. I have yet to receive the plates or registration. So now I have a car that I can not drive.. I have called the dealer several times concerning this matter. The dealer response was it was the DMV fault. I went DMV and was told because I purchase from another state, there was nothing they could do. I called the and asked what DMV do they use. [redacted] which was the salesperson who sold me the vehicle. said he mailed the documents P.O. sent to the DMV which made no sense to me. I feel the he is purposely giving me the run around. I paid $299 for documentary fees. I paid $250 FOR REGISTRATION AND TITLE FEE, because they know the exact amount they said they will mail me the balance with my spare key and remote. He was so nice while trying to get me to purchase this vehicle. After giving him the check and all the documents were signed and I called him back about this matter several times and letting know I can not move my car without the plates and registration. He became very rude and nasty.. I didn't deserve that from him. In a way I did feel kind of discriminated. I also complaint to the manager [redacted] and was told I could drive with a expired temporary license. I did not want to take that chance. Talking about there will pay if I get a ticket. They must think I'm crazy. This reason why I am asking for your assistance. I appreciate all that you do to resolve this problem.Desired Settlement: I expect an apology and that they do what their suppose to as far my license and registration.

Business

Response:

I had been in contact with the client for the past week or so, eveery day on the phone, trying to get this issue resolved. I will explain here what I have explained to the customer.

Unfortunately dealerships are some times at the mercy of the DMV as far as how quickly plates are processed and shipped out. Especially with out of state deals. Whether there's still a lien on the vehicle, or a piece of paper work is missing, there are times when it can take an unacceptable amount of time to recieve plates.

It happens. The system is not perfect, and there's nothing a dealership can do to quicken the process. Again, we are at the mercy of the DMV.

Since a dealership is unable to re-issue a temporary plate, the only resolution is to sit and wait. However, as I told [redacted], if the need arises to drive the vehicle, the dealership would pay if she was to recieve a ticket. (A ticket for an expired temp. plate is not a moving violation and the driver does not recieve points on their license.)

I kept her updated, acting as the middle man between her and the DMV. We had apologized many times. And We offered to pay for any expenses driving on an expired temp might incur.

As of now, her plates have been processed, and again, I apologize to [redacted] and I'm sorry that this happened. Thank you for being a customer and I wish you the best of luck with your vehicle.
